God, we are pathetic. :lmao: We found out earlier tonight that our weekend next weekend is most likely going to be invaded by family. Gabby didn't know it, but I had planned for us to go do some special stuff together next weekend, so that's now shot. But, to sort of help "right" our evening, our inner children just couldn't help but get into a couple of the presents.

Gabby got to open a Grumpy mug that she had wanted but we didn't buy when we saw it on vacation at the outlet store. She had forgotten about it, but was really happy to see it. I guess it sounds odd to be happy about a Grumpy mug. I opened a pin that I had asked for of Timon & Pumbaa.

Ok, so we were done being bad....or so I thought. Gabby decides it's time to play a little Guitar Hero on the PS2. I then knew that I had to let her be just a little more bad. I told her that I didn't want to open anything else, but that she had to open the big heavy box. She didn't want to, but I told her too. To her complete surprise, it was the Guitar Mania Amplifier for use with Guitar Hero games as well as real guitars. She has a couple of amps for her real guitars already, so she was initially a bit puzzled when she saw that I had bought her an amp. When I told her it was for Guitar Hero, she was soooooo excited. She is jammin' out as I type. I am so glad that I bought it for her. She said that it was the one thing that she wished that they made for the Guitar Hero games that she didn't have. I knew they made them though. :woohoo:

I can't wait for Christmas to be able to see her open the rest of her gifts. The woman is gonna freak when she sees some of the other cool stuff that she's getting. So, who else has been unable to keep their over curious inner children from being able to open stuff? Surely we can't be the only ones. Maggie

PS...OMG, just caved and gave her Guitar Hero 80's Encore to open. She has beaten Guitar Hero I, II, and III at the easy levels, so I went ahead and gave her the new game to play before she works on the Medium Levels of the other games.

Ok.....she just popped up with a small packet of pictures of stuff that hasn't gotten here yet and that most likely will not arrive until after Christmas. She apologized for them not being here in time, but the stuff is all items that I had on my wish list that I keep for her to use because I seem to be hard to buy for. :rolleyes1

I am getting the University of Tennessee scrub top that I really wanted for work! I am getting the PS2 joystick controller that is wireless that I really wanted for the roleplaying/fighting games that I love. I am also getting the newest in the "Shining" rpg series for PS2 called Shining Tears! :woohoo:

So far, we could call it quits on the gifts and I would consider myself extremely spoiled. Oh, and for anyone wondering.....Gabby is still jammin' out on Guitar Hero 80's....the current song is The Warrior by Scandal. Rock on! :rockband: Maggie

PS. Now we evened it out and have swore no more! I let Gabby open up the new skull decorated Guitar Hero guitar strap that I bought from Red Octane's eBay store. Got another big :) for that one.

Hi, Maggie! Sounds like fun! Can DS come over to play with Gabby?:rotfl2:

We are having a non-traditional Christmas. No tree this year because of the naughty kitten. No presents are wrapped because everybody got stuff they already knew about. DH got a dSLR camera on Black Friday. Of course he had to open it immediately and practice so he could take pics at WDW last weekend. DS got a Wii bundle pack on Black Friday, but he has NOT been allowed to open it. I got a trip to WDW that DH and DS got to enjoy, too! (Somehow I think I got shortchanged here, but maybe not.)

I did buy a few small things for myself at the mall today.;)

I was just thinking of you so it was good to see your post! I hope you and Gabby have a fabulous Christmas!!:goodvibes

Send him right over! I am sure that they would have a blast playing together.

We were bad again today. We were supposed to have gone to meet Gabby's Dad & Step-Mom a bit north of here today for lunch. Her Dad's birthday was the other day and he was driving down to let Rosie do some last minute shopping for Christmas. We were going to give him his birthday presents and give them their Christmas gifts, but the weather turned nasty up in the NC mountains where they live, so they were unable to come down. This left us without anything to do. Not good for helping us wait. :rolleyes1

We opened all of our gifts to each other. Yep, total wrapping paper carnage over here. OMG, so much cool stuff for both of us. I feel totally spoiled. I got scrubs, clothes, Mickey Mouse table linen table napkins, Will & Grace dvd's, the dvd of the movie Cars, PS2 games, a PS2 wireless handheld controller, a Brad Paisley cd, a Ray Stevens Tribute cd, a plush penguin that has the bonus feature of letting me pick out a star up in the sky and name it, a bracelet, a gold Winnie the Pooh necklace charm, a penguin massage pillow, a bear beanie filled pillow, a Jungle Book Harmony Kingdom figurine, and a Jim Shore Minnie Mouse as a nurse figurine. Whoo Hooo!!!!! :woohoo: Gabby was floored when she opened her big gift. I got her a Nintendo DS Lite. I also picked up 10 games for it and lots of gadgets and accessories, so that she could enjoy it when she travels, which is at least 3 weeks a month. She got the newest Patricia Cornwell book on cd which was narrated by Mary Stuart Masterson. She got a watch box that holds 20 watches, because she loves her watches. ;) She got the Bourne Ultimatum on dvd, a couple of PS2 games, and several cds including Leann Rimes, Celine Dion, Sara Evans, and the Celtic Woman Christmas. She also got several cologne sets, because her colognes change with her moods. :rotfl2: She got a couple of shirts with skulls on them.....don't ask, I swear there is an 18 year old boy trapped in her body somewhere. :lmao: She got some Skull Candy headphones that she wanted for her mp3 player too. Her gift to enjoy at the moment.....a full body length massage and heat cushion to enjoy while she lounges on the chaise. She is so cold natured, it may save me major $$$ on our heating bill this winter. :cool1:

We still have stuff that we absolutely have sworn to wait to open on Christmas day. It's all the stuff that her mom sent. I am pretty sure that I am getting more scrubs, which will be totally appreciated. I need some new ones. Anyway, yes, we were bad, but we have been enjoying our new toys all afternoon and evening. Time for bed now. I have to work tomorrow morning. Happy holidays to everyone! Maggie

I am jealous that you girls are having so much fun!:rotfl2:

We told DS he absolutely may not have the Wii until Christmas morning. The other stuff he got isn't fun. Shoes, a jacket, that sort of thing. I did buy him a Homer Simpson "Spider Pig" shirt today which is kind of fun, but not fun like a toy. I think he might think twice about choosing just one BIG present in the future. But the Wii was the only thing he really wanted, and after paying for the Wii, DH's new camera, and a trip to WDW we were pretty much broke!:rotfl:
I should mention that the Wii is a bundle pack that was $500 - it has 4 games and several controllers and so forth. He can also use all of his Game Cube games on it, so it should keep him busy for quite awhile!

We'll go out early on Wednesday and hit the half price sales. Next year we'll go back to a "normal" Christmas.;)

Normal Christmas....what the the heck is that?!?! :rotfl:

Next year, we hope to be going to WDW the week of the 14th with her mom, sisters, and their families all tagging along. There are usually few if any Christmas presents to open the years that we go to WDW in December. But, you know, it's a great trade off in my mind. We create priceless memories and those take up so little physical space in the house, it's perfect....even for us packrats. I don't feel short changed at all and neither does she.

I had hoped to be able to go a couple of times to WDW next year, but that just isn't going to happen after the year that we have had. It's going to be fun enough to try to afford a 2 bedroom unit at OKW, so that her mom can stay in the same room with us. She isn't getting any younger and needs a scooter to make it if she is going to walk more than 30 feet. Gabby has a really close bond with her mom, so it's important to give them time together.....and if it just happens to be at WDW, then so be it! ;)

I have been lost in playing one of my new PS2 games this evening. I found reality about an hour ago. :rolleyes1 Pumpkin pie is baking for tomorrow and tonight's dinner is almost cooked. The boiled eggs are cooling and I think that I am going to go ahead and make some cornbread tonight. I am not going all out for our Christmas dinner. I have to go right back to work Wednesday morning, so I just don't think that I have it in me to spend all of that energy cooking when I could be enjoying time with Gabby. Maggie

We have definitely found that going to WDW in December throws off our groove. This is the first year that we have had a storage unit, so that added an extra dimension to complicating the decorating. In the end we left it all in storage!

Our cat Aurora will be 3 in the Spring. She has an abnormal fondness for chewing wires, especially wires associated with the Christmas tree. Arabella is about 10 months and she is just flat out naughty. This was not a good year for a tree! Last year we went to WDW Dec. 2-6, but this year we didn't go until Dec. 12-16. I had to work Dec. 17-21 so there was just no time to go get all the stuff, sort through it, put it up and monitor the cats. I have to go back to work Thursday.

You guys will have a wonderful time next year! It is sweet of you to include Gabby's mom!

Enjoy your day today! DH is cooking a turkey and a few sides, nothing elaborate. We bought a pie at the grocery.:)
