We have never been to the boardwalk..

The bus from Coronado Springs to Boardwalk hasn't run for several years. You would have to transport yourself to Epcot, walk throught or get a taxi or other transportation to the Boardwalk.

We enjoyed wandering around the Boardwalk after the all-you-can-eat clambake at Cape May. Our kids (then, ages 7 and 3) wanted us to rent a surrey bike, so we did. Let me just warn you--never attempt to ride a surrey bike after having eaten all that you can at Cape May. We were so full we couldn't pedal up the pathetic little hills around the Boardwalk! Passersby had to help push us up the hills! It was hysterical--pee'd my pants! :rotfl2:
IMO, the Boardwalk is worth a stroll or ride around. It's very relaxing--a nice change of pace from the parks.

We love walking around the Boardwalk in the evenings! We do it at least once every trip! We stop and watch the street performers, play the arcade games, and eat ice cream! Then, we watch the fireworks from the bridge! It's a relaxing way to spend an evening. :flower:

Pepe of Ohio: We will be at the Poly in July and were thinking of heading over to the ESPN Club for lunch on our 1st day after checking in at the Poly. What is the best mode of transportation from the Poly to the Boardwalk? We will have a car.

ericaofny- None of the entertainment goes on during the day.

Probably the best way to get there, thelees, is by driving. The other alternatives would be to Monorail to Epcot then walk, or boat to MK and take the bus for Boardwalk. Or you could walk to TTC and get a bus from there to BW, I think.

I plan to go to Boardwalk (and other area hotels) for a few hours during the day before we head over to MGM for EMH evening hours. A few questions...is it worth it to go during the day? Can we walk to the other resorts in that area from the Boardwalk? And how can we get from the Boardwalk to MGM? (p.s. I'm staying at CSR)

Erica

You can take a boat from MGM to the Boardwalk, Y&B and S&D. There's not much going on during the day. The shops are the same resort shops you'd see at any of the resorts. Spoodles, IMHO, has great pizza and a great selection for lunch or dinner. ESPN is also a lot of fun for the sports fan and used to have great wings. I love the Boardwalk for a nice relaxing but great people watching atmosphere. :goodvibes

Just wanted to say we love the Boardwalk area-we hope to be able to stay at one of Epcot's deluxe resorts b/c we enjoy this area. :)

We stay at the Boardwalk Villas, always book a villa that is overlooking the boardwalk. We have noticed that the games don't open until late afternoon, maybe around 5:00. I don't think they are Disney employees. Hours varied according to the season. On our first stay the arcade type things weren't open at all Monday- Wed. which was a major disappointment. We love sitting sitting on the balcony, we watch that basketball game by the hour. I wouldn't waste my time going there during the day. Jellyrolls opens at 7:00, the show is continuous until 2:00AM, gets rowdier as the night goes on. If smoke bothers you, you may not want to go. Have a great time!!!

It is definatley a nice place to visit at night instead of hanging out by the pool. We love the ESPN club and usually stay and watch a game, walk around once or twice, and watch the street performers (they are hillarious). We shop, get ice cream and at 9 o'clock there's a great view of illuminations from a bridge near the international gateway. We make one or two stops there every time we go. We have never actually stayed in the resort but the lobby and pool are very nice. I would consider checking it out.
