We have multiple TVs in our camper, will we be able to have cable access to them all?

We'd like to have cable in both bedrooms, the living area and in our outside kitchen. Can we do this, will it require additional equipment from the FW office?

Campgrounds around here will provide you with one cable box per unit which mean you can only use one tv. Not very practical. How does Cable at FW work?

Are they cable ready TVs? Assuming you're wired for cable and they are all cable ready, I think there shouldn't be a problem getting cable on all of them. We have two and are able to get cable on both of them. And as far as I know, we don't have any crazy splitter setup or anything special.

we ran a cable from the FW connection to our trailer connection. But only had one tv and it was only on the first day to check the weather after that never had it on. Spent too much time in the parks and doing other things around FW.

We love the "propaganda channels" when we're getting ready and going to bed :) We also used our cable this year in Pigeon Forge - there was a cool channel about Smoky Mountain NP! Otherwise, I hear you PaHunter.

They don't have cable boxes, so your cable ready tv should be fine. You can get a cable internet box for wired internet. I like to watch the Disney propaganda channels too!

Have a great trip!

We are going to Pigeon Forge in 3 days. Kids and DW are all excited about that too.

Where are you staying Peg110? We stayed at a small campground called Up The Creek in Sevierville and we really liked it, would definitely return! No game room or pool or anything fancy, but the grounds were well kept, sites were pretty spacious, and the location was lovely and nice to be off the main strip.

I hope you have a great trip! That was our first visit and definitely won't be our last. The Smokies are beautiful!

We are staying at Mill Creek Campground. Our intent is to (of course) spend some time at Dollywood. The DW always wanted to go there. We actually got season passes (as the cost of 2 days makes it cost effective to get season passes). I just happen to be going to Nashville the following weekend for an Army Reunion so the DW decided to take the week ahead of time as an opportunity (since we go right by it on the way to Nashville) to visit.

I have no idea what to expect. We have only had our TT at a few campgrounds. Of course the Fort, and a couple of Local Campgrounds here in NE Pennsylvania. Maybe this will help us (well more the DW) to be more willing to branch out more. Me I'd love to travel the country with an RV. Sadly, I have to work at an office, so it makes that dream difficult right now.

Anyone want to offer me at work at home (er... RV) job that pays really well? :)

Some brands of TV's dont play nice with the Direct TV cable system the fort uses. Our Emerson would not work with just the cable hookup and required a box that we got from the Meadow trading post.

If you rv has factory wiring for tv coax connections in those areas, you shouldn't have a problem. We run one cable and it works on our 4 tv, both bedrooms, Living room, and outside.

It is great to know. Many campgrounds around here give you one box to put in your unit and you choose what tv it goes on. Not ideal at all especially if it rains. The kids love Disney cartoons and Dh and I love the propaganda channels.

I had to get on a wait list after their tech came out and checked the cable at the post and in my trailer. I was a little disappointed that he didnt mention the incompatibility issue the first time he was out. I spent a few hours checking my RV wiring and finally called them back, when he came out and I asked about needing a box he replied that some TV's need them. I thought that would have been a handy thing to know the first time out. It then took a few days for me to get a box since they wrote my phone number down wrong at the Meadows. If we werent there for a month I would have just worked off the antenna.
The tech and I had a conversation about the lack of Wi-Fi and the new cell towers by the unhook area, although he wasnt a bus driver and therefore not qualified to pass along rumors, he did say it was all about the $$$$

Now that's funny :)
