We have booked for next Easter - good deal!

Very indulgent post but we have just booked for next Easter!

After many days of googling flights - rejecting VAs £3600, we decided on indirect - but then found direct to Miami for £1400 for 4 of us! Quite excited as DH and I celebrate our 20th anniv. this year and it will be 20 yrs since we were last in MIA! We will probably spend a couple of days on the beach then venture up to Orlando. Cant believe it! Any recommendations on accommodation in MIA greatly received (thinking of the Thunderbird in Sunny Isles).

Blimey, we stayed at the Thunderbird on our honeymoon in 1990.

I would say, to be honest, that it was budget > moderate, whether that is a fair comment based on it being so many years ago I wouldn't be able to say.
We stayed at the Hilton in Barbados for the second week.

There are probably nicer hotels in Sunny Isles, but the location is great.
Aventura Mall is one of the best in Florida, and it's not far away.

Yep - my M&D have stayed there a couple of times and say its cheap and cheerful and a good location. I think it should be ok for a couple of nights. Liking the sound of the Aventura - didn't go when we were last in Miami.

Great price on the flights and it lets you have a few days by the beech in Miami before Orlando brilliant.

I've just worked out it's 20 years since I went to Miami!

Haven't got a clue what the hotel was called all I can remember is it was pink and on the beach!

Oh to be 20 years younger drinking a Bahama Mama..............

Sure - majortravel.co.uk with American Airlines. It was £100 more expensive on the AA website. We depart on 31st March 2010.

I've just worked out it's 20 years since I went to Miami!

Me too I went there in 1990 as well on my first trip to the US and stayed in Sunny Isles at the Marco Polo for a week, after a week in Orlando!

Must agree the Aventura Mall back then was good
