ARRIVAL DAY - Tuesday 2/20
Our flight actually arrived early. We did not make reservations as we had an afternoon arrival.
We grabbed Chick-Fil-A in the airport and ate it waiting for DME.
- Let me explain: No Chick-Fil-A anywhere near us so we must have it when we travel. It was YUMMY!

*Late dinner from POP Food Court
B+
Me - Mom's Night Out Turkey
Turkey was a little dry but over all this was excellent food court fare.
DBF - Salmon
He was pleasantly surprised.

DAY TWO - Wednesday 2/21
MGM - hop to MK
* Lunch - C/S at ABC Commissary
C-
Not so good. MGM really needs to upgrade its counter service options! We both had cheeseburgers. They were nice gray, re-heated numbers. Good roll, however.
* Dinner - T/S at Kona Cafe (Poly)
A+ for food and service
Yummy, Yummy in my tummy!
Me -
Appy - Chicken Noodle Soup - Very good (can this be messed up?)
Dinner - Beef Teriyaki with Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes & Broccoli
Excellent. Steak was fork tender and very tasty. Potatoes were incredible. Didn't eat the broccoli.
Dessert - Kiddie Kone - A cute dessert. Tasty.
DBF -
Appy - Lump Crab Cakes - He enjoyed them.
Dinner - Shrimp and Scallops - He could not say enough about how good they were.
Dessert - White Chocolate Cheesecake - he said it was good. Kona Coffee. Much enjoyed.

DAY THREE - Thursday 2/22
Blizzard Beach & DTD
Boma
Food - A
Service - B (She kept the Frunch flowing but the check took forever.)
We may have to stay at AKL next time!
Breakfast Buffet
One word: Frunch! OMG - this was amazing. Cannot wait to try the knock off recipe.
I swear, they had the BEST scrambled eggs in the history of scrambled eggs. Muffins were also amazing. We sampled most of the side dishes and all were very good. A must do on the next trip.
I have been to WDW over 20 times and this was my first buffet. Well worth the wait. Everything was excellent. And an important item to point out at a buffet - the CMs really watch the food. A little girl in front of me grabbed two pieces of bread and then put them back. Before I could say a silent "Gross", the pieces were taken off the buffet.
Raglan Road
T/S Dinner
Food - A
Service - B
We really liked this restaurant. I was worried over some negative reviews but we loved the design, it was not as loud as I expected, the service was great and the food very good. The menu was also more extensive than some.
Me -
Appy - Drunk Chicken - I would eat this as a main course
Dinner - Serious Sirlon Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Onion Strings
Very tasty. Steak cooked perfectly and very tender. This is no small feat - I order it medium-well.
Dessert - Ice Cream with Raspberries and White Choclate -Yummy
Beer - Murphy's Irish Red. Good.
DBF-
Appy - Crab Me Silly - good, not great
Dinner - Filet of Sole - I think this was a daily special. He enjoyed the fish, saying it was tasty and well prepared. It came with a side of fries. I am quite the lover of fries and these were excellent!
Dessert - Same
Beer - Guniess. He likes it.
We both enjoyed the Soda Bread that comes with the meal. The dipping sauce was olive oil, honey and a Guinness reduction that was very good.

DAY FOUR - Friday 2/23
* Lunch - C/S at Flame Tree BBQ
D
Me - Smoked Beef Sandwich, Corn, Baked Beans, Key Lime Pie
Least favorite WDW meal ever. Really. Would take the chicken fingers any day. Yuck-O! The portions were large and the quality of the meat seemed fine but the flavor was not good. The rub was nasty. Just not Dinosaur BBQ! The pie was ok and seemed to be real key lime pie, not lime pie or worse, lemon with food coloring (key lime juice is yellow, not green). That's about all I can say.
DBF - St. Louis Ribs - Not good, not horrible. Neither of us liked the baked beans. They are BBQ beans and we never eat those. That could have been the problem. Chocolate Cake was "ok".
From now on we will stick with Tusker House.
Other Flame Tree BBQ issue: The birds. I am simply NOT a fan. There was a cast member telling diners that they should not feed the birds and explaining why. When she did this with one family, they understood and stopped. Then, a girl (about 6-7) on the other side of us, says to her parents, "She said we can feed the birds." She seemed pretty bright, no confusion, she was lying to them. So she starts to feed them and the poor CM has to come over and explain again. The girl pouted for a minute and then proceded to feed the birds by putting food on her finger and "dropping" it for them. The parents saw this and chose to ignore it. Where is SuperNanny when you need her?
*Dinner - T/S at Spoodles (Boardwalk)
Food -B (A from me, C+ to B from the others)
Service - B+
Love the design of this restaurant. We didn't feel crowded in like at some WDW restaurants. The table was a nice size. Service was good.
Note - Two additional diners from here on. They were not on DDP.
Appys - Margherita Flat Bread and Mediterranean Dip - Enjoyed by all
Sangria - Very good but pricy for the amount received
Me - Oak Fired New York Stip (noticing a trend?), no horseradish drizzel and replaced the sweet potato fries with regular fries from the kids menu. I told you, I'm picky! Another excellent steak.
Dessert - Ice Cream Sundae - it was an ice cream sundae...

DBF - Portuguese Seafood Stew
He enjoyed this but there wasn't much to it.
Dessert - I don't recall (Sangria, remember?)

Her - Fettuccini. Did not complain. Did not finish it. Average.
Him - Rigatoni minus mushrooms. Did not complain. Clearly did not enjoy it.

DAY FIVE - Saturday 2/24
*Lunch - C/S at Tangerine Cafe
Food - A
Service - D
Me - Chicken Strips from the Children's Menu. Fine
DBF - Chicken Shawarma Platter. He enjoyed it all especially the couscous.
Her - Chicken Shawarma Sandwich. Good. Very large. Turkish coffee - enjoyed a great deal
Him - Chicken Shawarma Sandwich. Probably the meal he liked the best.
For all of the meals off of the adult menu, the portions were huge. Quality and quantity for the price is outstanding. These platters could easily make a dinner.

Service was horrible. They have two pick up points and, even though the were using two registers, only served at one end. The line moved very slowly from ordering to pick up. The boys waited while my friend and I grabbed a table. Took about ten minutes to get the food. I think it was the managers day off. Here is why: when we were there last year, he was hustling, making sure everyone was working hard and asking customers if all was well. This year, no one seemed to be "in charge". Instead, we saw about half of the staff working while the other half were flirting with each other. Very shoddy service.

*T/S Dinner at LeCellier
Food - A
Service - A
Nice atmosphere. Yes, it is dungeon-like but after the sensory overload of the park, it is nice and calm. We had a quite booth in the corner but there was a funky smell. I was the only one that noticed it.
Me -
Appy - Beef and Barley Soup - Nice flavor. I was surprised at how much beef was in it. Almost an entree soup.
Dinner - New York Strip minus veal demi glace with roasted yukon gold potatoes. Excellent flavor. Cooked as ordered. Juicy.
Dessert - Sorbet duo. I did not care for the cherry but the manderine was awesome! A nice light dessert after a heavy meal and long day.
DBF -
Appy - Crab and Salmon Timbale. Loved it. We looked up the recipe to make at home.
Dinner - Mushroom filet. Said it was excellent as it was last year.
Dessert - Sorbet, liked both flavors.
Her -
No appy.
Dinner - Sauteed Shrimp. She changed her mind after ordering but our meal still came out quickly and correctly. Enjoyed the meal.
No dessert.
Him -
No appy but a glowtini
Dinner - Mushroom filet. Enjoyed.

Overall - we would NOT return to Flame Tree BBQ. I would go back to Spoodles next time, but might be alone. DBF would return but not right away. Friends said "menu is very limited" before we even went.
We would go back to everyplace else on our next trip. Service good everywhere.

ADRs - we would never go to WDW without them. Since we were there President's Week, they were very necessary. We arrived early for all ressies (we always do) and never waited more than 15/our ressie time to be seated. I have an odd but severe allergy to nutmeg that was noted to all ressies as "Allergy-other". At Kona, the chef came out, told us the only thing with nutmeg was the chowder. At the other restaurants, the server asked. I told them I could not eat it but did not need special preparation.

DDP - we are big eaters and like a T/S meal after a day at the parks so we wouldn't consider NOT getting the DDP. We have never noticed a difference in service.

Questions welcome. Please don't flame me over Flame Tree but we really did not like it and I know it is Disney, but tuppence are to go in the bank, not to feed the birds!

Can't wait for the next trip.
Trip report is coming.

Great reviews! I was wondering about the shrimp and scallop dish at Kona, no one ever seems to get that but it sounds good. We loved the Boma breakfast too. :thumbsup2 We are huge fans of Tusker house but after all the rave reviews of Flame Tree, we were thinking about eating there instead on the next trip, don't think we will waste the time now. We're not big on BBQ and beans either. Thanks for the great reviews! :cool1:

Thanks for the reviews! Which counter at Pop had the salmon? I had a hard time finding something I liked at the food court there, but I don't remember salmon. I like salmon, and we're going back in May.

Thanks!!!

When you are by the registers and facing the grab and go section - it is to the far right - where they have the "Mom's Night Out" stuff.

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Thanks for your reviews! :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear about service at Tangierine Cafe. We could always count on it for good and quick food.

You didn't mention the entertainment at Raglan Road. Did you miss it or did you not enjoy it? Food sounds yummy!

"An an important item to point out at a buffet - the CMs really watch the food. A little girl in front of me grabbed two pieces of bread and then put them back. Before I could say a silent "Gross", the pieces were taken off the buffet."

Man, was I glad to read this comment. I am not normally a fan of buffets (or barf-fets as I call them), but we are planning on eating at Boma for breakfast this August. This makes me feel SO much better about it!

Also, I'm with you on the Chick-Filet thing - we too don't have them here and I always try to get a chicken sandwich from there when I have the chance!

I will definitely try Le Cellier. I have been to Epcot so many times over the years and never actually gone into the restaurant in Canada. It used to have terrible reviews. Obviously it has changed very much for the better.
As for Boma, I just love Boma. We really enjoyed our breakfast there and too many dinners to mention. Am so much looking forward to going back to stay at AKL next month.

We did not get to see any! Our ressie was for 6:15. We arrived arrived at DTD around 5 and were very hungry so we checked in early. They were able to seat us early and we were done with dinner by 7 or so. Too bad, we had perfect seats for the dancer!
I was leary because of mixed reviews but we were both happy with everything and would go again in a heartbeat.

great reviews - was easy to read them! (precise and to the point)

Like Syracuse, NY Dinosaur BBQ???

I Love Dinsoaur BBQ! I'm in Western NY but get it when in Syracuse.
As for Flame Tree - Maybe it was bad day, maybe I was hoping fast food would be like "real" BBQ but Flame Tree was just so bad!
