We are less then a month out and changed plans a few times.
I think we have a decent plan finally. Does this look good for Orlando/no Disney/ road trip?

Leave NJ Saturday. Drive to Florence SC.
Sunday early, drive to Orlando. We dropped Kennedy space center and added an extra night at Wyndham bonnet grand hotel. We will be there Sunday- Thursday.
Monday- showcase if citrus early, resort pool then House of blues dinner (restaurant .com gift card.)
Tuesday- resort day, pool activities(food? Maybe hash house breakfast with travelzoo voucher.)
Wednesday- universal/IoA, dinner at margaritaville (gift card:)
Thursday check out then Gatorland.

Drive to west palm to friends until Sunday.
Monday- Wednesday morning in Savannah then Wednesday-Friday charleston. Home

not sure when they quit charging guests for parking at us/ioa

since you are not doing Disney why stay at Wyndham Bonnet Creek - there are much cheaper places to stay

otherwise it looks fine - you are leaving yourself with a lot of downtime

They are likely staying there because they want a resort with lots of activities that you never have to leave and still have a great vacation.

They do charge for parking at universal. Not sure why you think they don't or maybe you think that I think they don't? I'm confused.

We are doing universal and IoA, one day pass. We also are visiting with friends who live in Orlando on a resort day, we are looking at neighborhoods to move to next year.
We are getting the stay practically given to us by seeing the time share(won't buy) so we added one day oop.
Plus as pp says, resort with plenty to do. My friend just returned after a 3 night stay and mainly enjoyed the resort activities. Said she could have easily stayed longer.
We went to Disney on October.

What are you doing in Savannah and Charleston?

Trolly tour, mrs walkers, fort sumptner or patriots point, carriage tour, dolphin sail (not exactly certain yet, so many options.

at night (not sure when) they quit charging for parking so people will use the City Wall area. (since disney does not charge for Disney Springs)

Only for Florida residents (with proof of residency).....for the rest of us, after 6 pm I think its $6.

OP, I think your plan sounds great! Nice to see you have allowed time to enjoy all the great amenities at Bonnet Creek....sometimes the best vacation memories are made right at the resort, where you can relax and play without a "plan" :goodvibes .

Less than a month to go! :thumbsup2 It will be here before you know it!

I am glad to have time to enjoy the resort, it will be a busy 2 weeks. My kids love lazy river and pool games and activities.
Today is cool and rainy so I am making lists and packing a few things.

We just got back from a Myrtle Beach vacation and I agree! We made awesome memories at the resort pools and watching NBA finals in our condo! Going out was great, but, to see my kids enjoy those pools!

Absolutely! I am thrilled with the what we have planned now. Still have some options to change things and do more or less.
we leave in the morning!! All packed and awaiting slumber (which probably wont happen.)

We really enjoyed the Old Slave Mart museum tour. A very sobering look at a time not too far past. Not too big, maybe an hour to 90 minutes. Also, the sweet grass baskets in the market are lovely souvenirs; although a bit pricey right in Charleston, we bought ours along the highway back to Myrtle Beach where the roadside artisans setup shop.

We went to Orlando in March for 13 days and stayed at Orange Lake ( our favourite resort, and were just there at Xmas) and we left the property a total of 1 full day and 2 half days. Discovery Cove the full day and we have platinum passes at SeaWorld, so did a half day at Aquatica & SeaWorld. Hands down one of our favourite vacations. So much to do at the resort.
We leave in 12 days and are driving to Williamsburg Va from Northern Ontario. First stop Baltimore and Camden Yards then Williamsburg for a week and a few days in VA beach, my girls are trying surfing.

Are you sure the stay is at WBC? Usually for the timeshare pitch, the reservation is at a Wyndham related hotel in the DTD area, not at WBC.

Also, I know you have no intention of buying right now, but just remember two things about the Wyndham timeshare presentation.
  1. If the salesman's lips are moving, he is lying. I am a Wyndham owner and love their system (going to N. Arizona for two weeks this summer with it!)...but. Their timeshare sales force is one of the worst in a sleazy industry and Wyndham has an F rating with the Orlando Better Business Bureau because of all the timeshare sales complaints they have gotten.
  2. IF you get interested in owning a Wyndham timeshare, you can buy it for pennies -- literally, for $1 in many cases -- on eBay. If you mention that to the timeshare salesman, his mouth will go into hyperwarp speed, so just remember #1 above.

It's at Wyndham bonnet grand hotel next to WBC. I'm in the process of moving to Florida so no interest in buying a time share there and no money for a splurge such as that. My friend owns several and has filled me in on details. Thanks for the info

Okay, in that case you will have full access to all of the WBC pools, lazy rivers, and other activities. The Grand is not "next to" WBC; it's really more right in the middle -- it completes the circle of buildings on one end of the lake. About the only difference is you'll have to pay for parking, I believe, in some form (either straight parking or a "resort fee.").

On the timeshare presentation, just be prepared for a low-pressure group meeting start followed by an individual session that will get progressively more high pressure as you go. They will also introduce at least one other "closer" to apply more pressure. Wyndham is a good system; just don't buy it from them!

Yes, thanks. We stayed at Hilton bonnet creek in October (with points, we don't typically have to pay for travel since hubby has so much from business) so I knew it was right there.
We pay parking but no resort fee with our "package" and get a gift card for margaritaville.

I've done TS prevention before. It will be fine, I'm sure. I'm prepared for them to pressure us.
