We were looking to add a feline to our ever-growing menagerie, and took a trip to our local Animal Control to see what they had for adoption. When we asked the staff member which cat's "time was almost up
", she showed us a tiny, fuzzy, cuddly tortishell & white female baby. She's so young that they've just gotten her off the bottle (she was a stray whom they believe got separated from her mother). The minute my DS8 held her, her motor started to go full throttle. Then, all he had to hear was that she was due to be euthanized the next day, and his eyes started welling up (he tried to be macho, but it wasn't working too well
), and I knew she'd be coming home with us. Since it's Autumn, and she's got a lot of orange in her, we named her Pumpkin. We had our wonderful vet check her out, and he de-wormed, and de-flead her for free since she was a stray--how nice of him! Pumpkin is doing great, although I've always adopted older cats, and had NO IDEA that kittens have so much energy!!! She has fit in our household so well, and has even put a little spring into our nearly-blind ten year-old Chihuahua's step! We are having such a great time with her--I just had to share the joy! I may have to change my user name to luvmydogs&cat!

, and attacking imaginary creatures that seem to run around our house even though they cannot be seen by the rest of us. Krisu, you're right. It's EXACTLY like having a toddler in the house again! Cinders is so cute, Beauty!
