I know how hard losing a furbaby is..I lost one in April (4 years old) and one in June (almost 14)..and I know how much a part of the family they become..May you and your family find peace in many happy memories of Shadow..and know that you gave her a loving home and that she had family who loved her..she's on the Rainbow Bridge with all of the other DIS pets who have left us..and she's smiling down at you with love and thanks

I'm sorry for your loss. Are you feeling any better today? The day after your Shadow went, our beloved dog Sadie went. She was 13 and had metistatic lung cancer, diagnosed just 4 days prior to her inability to breath (and so her euthanasia). We received her ashes in a lovely cherry wood box Thursday. Today I tried the Bach Flower Remedy of Star of Bethlehem for my remaining dog who cries and cries (recommended by our Vet), and me (since the label says it's for people). We'll see if he and I start feeling better.

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon. They are our children.

i'm so sorry for your loss

I am so sorry for your loss. I know your pain. We lost our 17 year old kitty, Ginger, last Friday. She lost her sight about a month ago. When we came home Friday afternoon, she wasn't able to use her back legs. The vet examined her and told us she had experienced a stroke. While examining her, she had another stroke and she was gone. It was very hard on my daughter. Ginger was her cat. She got her when she was five years old.

Sadly, even though we know that we will most likely out live our pets, we really don't want to accept this.

After 19 years, our dear Shadow is gone. She has been with us since our youngest DD was 6. Shadow hasn't been doing well for several weeks. She had almost stopped eating. Today we came home and she wouldn't eat and wouldn't drink. She could hardly walk and did nothing but cry. We knew it was time; but all I can do now is cry. I can't believe that she is gone.

I am so sorry!
