I just wanted you all to know, although it is rare to have a DVC ressie upgraded, it can happen!thumbsup2!

Here's our story:

We decided to take a mini getaway this past weekend. It was a last minute thing, we booked ,most of our days off property with my DH's hotel points. The only problem was that we needed a room for the day of arrival (June 30th) Somehow it had slipped my mind to make this ressie before leaving, so here we are, in the car on the way down there and I realize it's a long holiday weekend and we have no ressie for that very evening. We remembered that we had some left over points that I had not yet banked so I made the call and MS confirmed a studio for us at OKW. We arrived an hour later, and were pleasantly surprised to find out we had been upgraded to a one bedroom villa :woohoo:!!! Now we were only staying one night but It was so great to have the extra space for our son to run around :cool1:. We had a great day at OKW!!!! Love that pixie dust!

Wow, booked at the very last minute and got a studio that's lucky to start with and then got an upgrade, even luckier! Congrats! We always book 2 brms, verylittle chance of an upgrade!

good for you but just make sure you check your pts :goodvibes

Same thing happened to us at BCV. However, we were not booked on points, but used our AP disocunt.

May 1st, I call and get a regular room at YC using Ap discount.
A week later, I call to see if any studios were available at BCV since they were cheaper than a regular room. One was available. I book it.
A week before our trip, i call back and turn our room only booking into a package. CM puts me on hold, so she can work with a manger behind the scences to "hold" my studio (not others available), but change our booking into a package. Takes a while, but the job gets done.

June 3 we make our switch from SSR over to BCV. Hubster said we were waaay to early to head over, but I told him we should go over anyway, just in case there were issues. We had a 9:15 breakfast reservation at Boma, and wanted to get our room keys as we were using the dining plan.

Good thing we went over early. CM goes through the check in procedure, and runs into issue #1. Has to call a call center. Gets that straightened out and then our keys won't print. Calls call center back again. Took 45 mins, but we finally get checked in, and our keys (although the room was not ready), but in the meantime we foudn out we had been upgraded from a studio to a dedicated 2 bedroom at BCV. It was waaaaay more than what we needed, so we kept the "studio"/2 bedroom closed off, and certainly enjoyed having a "one bedroom."

Got the credit card statement last week, and no extra charges.

So that's where all my pixie dust keeps going! JJ. Congrats on the last minute ressie & upgrade!

That's a great upgrade!

I once got upgraded at Hilton Head from a 2 bedroom to a Grande Villa. We were staying just two nights on a weekend when the points are higher, so that probably helped. By the way, the Grande Villa there is awesome!!!

Congrats! Only time I've ever gotten an upgrade on points was at the Disneyland Hotel they gave us a room with a nice view rather than standard, but even better it was available at 9am! But getting stuff for free is always awesome!

Wow, from a Studio to a 2 BR . That is awesome.

Congrats.... now send some of the good luck my way! :lmao:

That's awesome!:thumbsup2 Good for you!

I never even thought there were any upgrades for DVC stays. But I don't think there's enough pixie dust in the world for Disney to upgrade us on our 14 night vacations.
