This is OUR Spencer and this is a picture I took June 29th. When we got home from our WDW vacation 1am Sunday morning, he looked nothing like this. We called the vet Sunday when they opened at 1pm and we took him in. His blood sugar was over 600 and his potassium level was 1/2 what it should be, along with several other things. They told us to take him over to the ER Vet so they could monitor him 24 hours. He had diabetes, and was off insulin for well over a year now. Obviously he needs to go back. The fact that he was not on insulin the Dr. said was good news in a way, because at least they know where to start. Had he been on insulin currently, and all this happened, it would mean more of a underlying problem with him. This all could have been brewing and just all surfaced while we were away. My mom was coming and feeding our cats and noticed that Spencer was acting strange toward the end of the week, but he normally goes into a "depression" when we go away. So she kinda chalked it up as that, along with that he is just getting older and slowing down quite a bit.
DH and I have to go back to work today, me with red puffy eyes from crying and him with dark circles under his eyes from being awake with me worrying. And DS...well, we have been trying to talk to him about how sick Spencer is and how we are being positive, as are the Drs., we will not know for sure until later today, and he is just totally bummed out.
So if you could send some good thoughts out there for Spencer, we would totally appreciate it. I can call the Vet ER after 10am, and I will post a quick update. Thanks so much!

for a speedy recovery.
His motor is always going so it was strange not to hear it. He walked around a little bit and his back legs were doing much better. He did have 2 shunts in there so it was a little difficult for him. Mostly we kept him on the table wrapped up in a little shirt they would put on a dog and in a towel. He did start to fall asleep, poor guy his body was just exhausted I think.
