We got our Disney reservation book with all the info in it but no magic bands. Do they send them separately ?

I was so excited to get ours last September. We stayed at Port Orleans, which was one of the test groups, so we were pretty excited about them. They worked wonderfully, except one morning it wouldn't let me in at one of the parks (can't remember which one) but a CM came right over with an iPad and asked me a couple of questions and sent me on my merry way. That was the only time we had a glitch though.

We're going again next January, and I will be excited to get ours again!

I'm kind of glad you said that. My kids want to wear them to school as soon as we get them but I'm afraid they'll damage them. How sturdy are they? Will they sustain impact well? I don't mean like taking a hammer to them, but a kid banging them on playground equipment, and general abuse generated by kids.

To the OP congrats! So exciting!

I think they are pretty sturdy and made out of a durable rubber. The only thing is I worry about is there is a perforation on them which allows you to convert an adult band to a child band. My fear is that it tears easily, but it hasn't been a problem for me and I've used mine over many days, went swimming with it, etc.

Worst comes to worst, they can always issue you a replacement band for a fee. Not sure if that fee is any different than the $12.95 band.

We kept ours under some plates to bend it in the right direction to be comfortable. Took a Few days but it helped a lot. I've also seen these bit bands, silicone bands you can slide onto them to prevent loss. I think all of us had the band pop off during our short two day trip in November....definitely worth the $5 NOT to have to waste time at guest services

I believe they do. I got my luggage tags and ME booklet today, the magic bands info online says I still have 2 days to change my preferences for them. It looks like we are arriving the same day.
