Well hubby and I bought a 5th wheel yesterday! Its a 87 Komfort 26 footer. It has only has had 2 owners is very well cared for. it has a new AC, new awning, new fridge and stove, plus all the outside lights have been replaced.

Now all we need to do it buy a fifth wheel/ gooseneck hitch. ( hubby wants both so I we can get a gooseneck horse trailer. (yay!)

Once it gets home, its my job to clean it and fill it. So does anyone have a detailed list of what we would need, so we can do a few test runs before we go to Disney in Oct!

thanks in adavance

Yay for you!! Sorry, I can't help with any advice because we are kind of in the same boat. Just bought TT and we are in the process of cleaning, doing minor repairs, etc. Our maiden voyage will most likely be to FW in September!

Congrads!! Tigger1 :cool1:

as for what you will need.. just think of what you use at home ;) after all this is your "home on wheels"

I tried to find stuff that is plastic or melmac for the dishes (weight issue could be a hold over from the pop up days) paper plates too. I have silverware for everyday use.. found a bunch at a garage sale and good will store. so we have a service of 8. Several sizes of pots n pans.. I do have a undercounter toaster oven and undercounter can opener, coffee pot...I found smaller cookie sheets to use since the larger sized ones did not fit in our oven.

I also have extra sheets for the beds, towels etc. that I keep in the camper I just wash em and put them back before we bring it back to the storage place.

There might still be a thread on the board here about what to bring too.

when are you going in oct? we will be there the 9th to the 15th.

Our camper has everthing we need for a trip, except clothes and perishable food. I restock non perishable food each spring.

Bedding, bathroom stuff, kitchen stuff.

It is also my emergency supply closet if I run out of stuff in the house.

we are trying to go for the end of October but havent tried to get a site yet because we are planning to remodel the house and dont want to be gone for 2 weeks in the middle of that

First Congratulations on your new 'second' home. It's very exciting. As some of the other posters mentioned you are basically stocking a second home, so you will need to buy everything just like you would need in your house. In addition, you also need things like sewer hoses, fresh water hoses, chemical for the toilet, etc.

It sounds like a lot, but you can pick things up on sale as you go. Most of all enjoy!

Congrats! Don't forget to pack medicines and toiletries. It is so much easier to go the bathroom cabinet just like at home. We take regular size deoderant and shampoos because we go out for a few weeks at a time, medicines, we buy smaller sizes even though it might be more expensive to buy at first then you can just refill. I always in the spring check expiration dates and refill and mark the smaller bottles. But that way certain meds are in their original containers and easy to find. hope it helps, have fun with your new camper.

Just check the WEB I just typed packing a RV in yahoo came up with lots of pages of want to take.
