We got a QS Pin!!

Happy dances all around!! We just called to see if we had a pin associated with our names and surprisingly enough, WE DID! :worship: Its for quick service so we may just pay the extra to upgrade. I was getting so annoyed, everyday opening my email with my fingers crossed waiting for a pin. The CM was full of Disney magic, she couldn't have been sweeter or more informative. We will be going August 9 which is before the estimated date that the public free dining will include. :woohoo:
 

If you call for something else will they tell you you have a pin or do you have to actually ask if there is a pin?
 
I called and asked, of course we did not have one that was attached to our name. One member of our grand gathering did and we were able to get 3 rooms. This past weekend another member of our group got the pin and we added it to the 4th room. :cool1: I think it is worth calling to see.

When i called, i told her that we are booking our vacation this week and were curious if we had any pins associated with our names. she was very happy to check for us!

What's going on with the QS Pin code? What dates are they for? Thanks :)

mine were for 5/24-8/14...which made me assume that public free dining will be coming out the 15th but who knows lol

oh im not sure of the black out days though because at the time i only wanted to know if my dates would work lol
 
You are SOOOO lucky! I have signed up for all things Disney, and NEVER rec'd a pin code. :confused3 My 2 brothers and their families have both rec'd them...including 1 for the current free QS plan. That would be PERFECT for us.

I called to ask if their was a pin associated w/ our name and got a rather abrupt CM who asked if I had an email or postcard. I told her I did not, but that I was told sometimes you miss them by the code would still be in the system assoc. w/ the name so best to check. Her response, a dull "uh huh" Then w/out any more tapping on her key board (I had heard her verifying my name, etc) she says no, no pin. If you don't have a card, there's no pin.

Makes me wonder if she even looked! Only one way to tell, I'll have to call back again later I guess! I wouldn't even think of calling back if she hadn't made me feel like I was totally wasting her time and out in left field. So much for Disney magic.

Im sorry you didnt have a positive experience. Hopefully when/if you call back you will get a cm WITH Disney magic!
 
Do the CMs automatically tell you if you have a code? I called to modify my ressie, if I had a pin would they have told me? Or do you have to ask?:confused3
 
We called and made our reservations, and the CM told my husband she had a surprise for him (that's how she told him we had a pin attached to his name!)
 
Ok so I called an asked about a pin code...had not very nice cm who said the same thing as one of the other poster, if you had one you would get in post card or email.....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

So later I called back to figure out best way to do my Disney Vacation while I was on I asked the most awesome cm (both males btw) about the code. I explained how we come every year and my friend comes every 2nd year and she keeps getting them which she cant use...he said, did you say she doesnt come very often...I said is that why, he said Im not saying that....lol!!! So I said so basically because I come all the time I dont get , she doesnt but has come so they want her to come back so they send them...he laughed. I said dont you think the ones that always come should get something....he didnt want to comment..poor guy..lol!!! I said I would love Free dining but hubby wont go in Aug (Hurricanes) so will never get that.....he said well you arent coming til July so you never know...so maybe he felt sorry for me and will submit my name......(Yeah ok 5boyz wake up from your dream)lol.

Anyway I guess right now I have to decide weather to use the 40% summer discount or the $750. GC summer discount. Decisions Decisions!!! lol
 
I have been hearing recently from other posters that the CM's are getting a bit more tight lipped about the pins associated with reservations (they also mentioned this on the DisUnplugged podcast recently). For years now people on these boards have been calling randomly - or very often - just to check to see if there is a pin associated with their name. One theory is that so many DISboards members are calling that the CMs are either getting annoyed or maybe Disney is asking them to be less helpful in checking?

In any event, my rule of thumb is that if you get a curt CM, simply say thank you and call back for a more helpful CM. Sure, it takes more time but it could very well be worth it. ;)
 
Does anyone know if there is a free QS pin out there for April '10? Sure would love to get one!
 
Really???? Beginning of AUG??? I cancelled my Aug trip for this reason and rebooked for June...... Oh well.... We'll be there for my DD's birthday instead!
 
Do they keep a record of every time you call? I too had a not so helpful CM on the phone. I want to call back and try again, but will they know I just called earlier today? :confused3
 
I wanna call myself and find out if we there are any codes...are there other PINs going around other than the QSP

and if you do have a PIN..will they tell you what its for even if you arent gonna book right away??

EXACTLY... We originally had the 30 or 35 (not sure) off....which was originally a blackout...so we were excited about that.....and we got over $700.00 off of that THEN......free QS pin GIVEN TO US OVER THE PHONE!! so it was a better deal for us so additional $200.00 of of the 700.00..we only got the free qs dining discount only...not both, but the dining was a better deal!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:
