We go the resort smell!

We spent 9 nights at POR and when we unpacked my DH brought me a shirt that had sat on the chair in our room for most of the 9 days. He gleefully exclaimed "Honey it smells like Disney!" I took a wiff and sure enough, I was right back at WDW We haven't washed the shirt since!

As soon as I step into the Orlando airport, to me, it smells like Florida...then when I get to the Magic Kingdom, I take a deep breath...ahhhhhhh...Disney.

I did the same thing when I unpacked my suitcase! I love that very distinctive, Disney resort smell - it makes me very happy!

I discovered this on a solo trip a while back. I had brought a sweater that I didn't need and it came home with that resort smell. I too didn't wash it - or wear it! - until the scent had gone away. I kept it carefully folded and gave it a good sniff every day to relive the magic!

That is so funny, I had not been to Disney since 1996 and in '04 my then boyfriend (we are married now) went on our first trip together. I inhaled deeply at MK and said IT SMELLS THE SAME!

I also purchased a shirt at BC and did not want to wash it for a long time,because it smelled like the resort...they need to market that scent into a plug in. Hello Disney Marketing, are you listening?

That's so funny my dh cleaned and shampooed the inside of my car when we got back from disney and when he was finished and I got in it smell just like my hotel room in disney and later that day when my dd7 got she was like mom it smells just like our room in disney.

I might take some winter clothes on my next trip just so I can get them full of "Disney Smell" - I wouldn't need them or wash them until winter!!!!

In 7 days I will be taking my mom down there. She has never stayed onsite before. I have been telling her about the "resort smell" she thinks I'm nuts!! I wish they could capture the smell and put it in a fabric spray or a candle.....they could have different scents for the diff. resorts AND the parks......I would buy every one of them

Growing up we would stay at the Comtempory and there was a certain smell to it.Now once in awhile I can smell that smell where ever I am and it takes me back.

Man am I glad you posted this! I tell DW all the time when we pass a certian restaurant near our home "doesn't that smell like Disney!" What a look she gives me , then says "what does 'Disney' smell like ?"

It's good to see (or better to the point smell ) that I'm not alone!
