We Go, Garden Grocer or ship from home?

Well they follow your directions to the letter. Here's pretty much what my list looked like and I had them shop at Walmart because their prices are pretty standard.

apples: have to be baja or red delicious. We need at least 10. And they can't have any spots or bad areas. The bagged 3lb kind are fine unless they don't all look perfect, by the pound is fine if the bagged don't look good
(ok there was more about the apples and my insanely picky 5 yr old DD! )

grapes: green seedless but only if they are less than $x.xx per pound (grapes were more expensive than my price point so she didn't get them)

bananas: 10 ripe and 10 green as possible

frozen waffles: least expensive brand, blueberry if they have it plain if not

sourdough bread from the bakery section: round and pre-sliced

2lbs turkey bacon: least expensive national brand

2 doz eggs: least expensive

and so on and so forth. I gave them specific brands when I cared as well as what to sub out if they didn't have it and gave specifics on things like the soda because I know a case of soda isn't 24cans in FL it like 18 cans and then a 12pk is actually an 8pk. So I told them I need at least 24 cans.

They use a free form section to make your list in, it's not a check list.

As for pricing, go by your area and add on 10% just to be sure. I est our bill at $30 higher than it was so the prices were lower than I had planned on.

That is VERY helpful...thank you. I might see if this is the service for our next trip. In general, how many items did you have on your list?

I totally get you about the picky fruit eaters...I have two myself...the youngest is still to young to know the difference, but that will change...

I had 14-15 different items(and multiple of those items) on my list, including soda, bottled water and diapers. The total with the delivery charge was $97.xx and I gave her $120 including the tip.

That is pretty reasonable for the convienence. Thank you for all your help!

So Dh and I were talking about adult beverages. We may order drinks at the bar by the pool (staying at the Poly) but what if we want to have a glass in the room. Will either grocery delivery get wine for you?

I usually ship a box with pop-tarts and crackers, but I would consider grocery delivery if they could do it all for me. (Plus, my little boy would be so pleased with the option for bananas in the room!)

TIA!

I saw on WeGoShop each individual franchise determines if they will buy and deliver alcoholic beverages. You would have to contact Marge directly to see if she offers this service (though others here on the DIS might know). If you chose this option there is a disclaimer that they will want to see your ID, which, of course, makes sense. It does not look like the Garden Grocer offers alcoholic beverages.

I've only used Garden Grocer, but it was a very pleasant experience.

Hi! We used We Go Shop at the end of April and it was WONDERFUL!! As for the alcohol ... she does!

I called Marge once we arrived at our resort. We were already in our room so I gave her our villa number. She let me know that one of her assistants was shopping for our order and would be delivering it per our scheduled time.

About 30 minutes later I got a call from the assistant that one of my items was unavailable and she wanted to ask about a substitue. She also let me add a few things to the order while we were speaking and then she asked me if we would like any beer or wine. We hadn't put it on our order but quickly changed our mind! :goodvibes She even went through the wine selection at Publix and described a few before I finally decided what I wanted.

As for costs: I had 26 different items, most with mulitple items, lots of fresh fruit and even had diapers and baby food and the bottle of wine mentioned above and my total with delivery fee was $149.28 to which I added a tip. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and a 5, 3 & 1 year old.

Please let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to help.

We also used wegoshop this last month and Marge was great. We had about 50+ items on our list. She also called me while shopping because they didn't have something on our list and asked our preference on a substitution. I had estimated a cost for the groceries and it was $20 less...:cool1:

She also does pick up alcohol if requested.

Have a great trip!

It sounds like many of you have placed large orders. Is it worth it if you are just buying lots of water and some breakfast snacks for two?

the delivery charge for wegoshop is $17 for orders under $100. So You'd have to decide if $17 plus tip is worth it for how much stuff you want.
