For an apartment for traveling Disney executives? With penthouse/presidentail suits at GC and DLH, what executive from Disney would want to stay inside the park, especially with all the work going on overnight inside the parks.... Apparently Club 33 is/has also taken a portion of the gallery, which is being moved to main street, inside Disneyana...

Hey Booth22:

Not sure where you got your information. First, Club 33 "took" part of the Gallery almost 2 years ago. They pushed out the back of their kitchen pantry in to a closet in the Gallery. It's about 2 feet of space.

Second, the suite is not for traveling Disney executives. As someone who works at the resort hotels, Disney executives rarely stay on property. If they are on property for meetings, they either go home at night, or travel back to Burbank to be closer to the studio and the executive offices up there.

The suite is being designed to be a sister suite to the castle suite in WDW. The WDW castle suite is part of the YOMD and guests win a night's stay in it. It's been suggested that this suite will take the place of the MMPH at the DLH. As you know YOMD has been extended through 2008.

If it is a theme penthouse, my guess is that it'll be Pirate (to not lonly complete the Pirate and Princess theme that is currently popular but also because of the location in DL). I would have a heartattack if they did give it out as a prize (and I'd be there every day school be damned, just to try to win...well maybe not every day). Can you imagine being served beignets on the balcony for breakfast just as Disneyland is coming to life in the morning (to say nothing of the view of Fantasmic at night)?

i doubt it... there is already a pirate themed penthouse at DLH...

We never gave it up. IT WAS TAKEN FROM US!!!!

It was never ours..... some how I am pretty sure Disney always owned it....

And if I remember correctly Walt wanted it to be an appt.... so really all they are doing is what Walt wanted anyway.

I liked the gallery, but there are a lot of things I liked that are no longer there, and a lot of new things that I like are in their place.

I really miss the DG. It was really the only place I would buy things. I have a feeling it might be pirates, last time I was in the store they had plenty of pirate themed items that were exclusive to the gallery.

My hope is if they do officially make it a prize suite I would love them to use much of the original design images for what the Suite would have looked like if Walt and Family had lived there but obviously slightly updated.

Ummm... I got my info from Special Events/ Guest Relations who said the Club 33 is taking (or has at this point) over about 1/4 of the Gallery.. And the plans for the remaining portion are to be an executive suite for traveling execs. So I was told.... I asked about the suite for YOAMD, and I was told nope. They said they would be keeping Mickey's Penthouse at DLH.

So is the disney gallery being moved or is it gone forever? I have never seen it but have always wanted to see it.
