And to everyone else yes, the Dole Whip eluded us for years. Unless you know where to go, they're impossible to find. For years I'd asked cast members where to get one only to get strange looks and to be told they'd never heard of them.

Adventureland in Altoona Iowa has them! They built a new water park and they sell them pool side! It's called a DoleWhip and everything! Tasted just like it! It was really quite enjoyable buying one and the flopping on a tube and floating in the lazy river with it.

Dole doesn't really market the product much to ice cream shops, but anybody (including you) can buy the mix.

A friend of mine said she got one when she went on the Dole tour in Hawaii.

I had never heard of a Dole Whip until I came on this board, and I used to live in Orlando AND went to college with many cast members AND have visited WDW at least 100 times. Now I'm TOTALLY hooked!

The last time I was there I was walking around a gift store eating one and a lady stopped me and asked where I got it. She said she'd been looking for them with no luck. Maybe some of us just need a little more guidance than others! I would have never found them without the DISboard.

Elusive?!? LOL I'm glad you found them though. Aren't the won-der-ful?!?! I'm addicted - I'll admit it. LOL

We found them on our first trip in 2006. We are ice cream lovers, especially soft serve, and when we walked by Aloha Isle it was impossible for us not to stop. Now it's a must-do every trip.

We introduced my MIL to them last year and it was hilarious to watch her face as she said "Pineapple Soft Swerve???" and then enjoy it!

They do have orange and vanilla Dole Whip, but if you were going to just get vanilla it would be quicker and easier to just go buy soft serve ice cream.

theyre sold at a permanent window on the main walkway into/out from Adventureland, there's usually a decent line, and usually people on both sides of the path chowing down on yellow soft serve and floats. Kinda seems hard to miss for someone who is aware of them and on the lookout. Calling them elusive makes it sound like they are only sold at temporary food carts that rarely gets wheeled out and to random locations.

Seriously though I'm sorry you had such a hard time finding them and that CMs were so unhelpful - I'm just a little befuddled by it.

I did the same thing! lol It isn't on there!

See the 2 and 3? The 1 would be in front of that towards the water. Ohana's faces the water and Capt. Cook's is in the lower level of that building. Now I'm sure someone will come on and get much more precise but that is the general area. You can get a nice Dole Whip and go sit out on the beach to watch the fireworks over MK....just lovely!

But that stand is very small compared to many other places at WDW. I can't tell you how many times I walked by it and I've been going since '72. Also, considering there IS a line most of the time, one would think WDW would offer it at more places and not just a very small place only in Adventureland and at Poly. Kind of like the Pina Colavas.....they're a tropical type of drink but you can get them at all of the resorts and parks (except MK due to no alcohol rules). Why not offer it in more places???

Just one quick thing -
It's not ice cream. Trust me on this - if I have soft serve ice cream without a lactose pill, I'd be running for a bathroom before I was halfway done. I can have these without an issue.

I'm not too big on pineapple, but my wife loves these things. If we do stay in the Poly next time we go, I can imagine that half of our snack credits will be spent on them!

yes, you can serve yourself vanilla or pineapple, or a mix of both. Very refreshing on a hot day!
