We found someone's camera... then found them!

That's great! And I'm glad you went up to them. I would have wanted to meet you if I'd lost my camera.

We found a lost older child at MK once. We were at guest services having our tickets upgraded to APs when a man came in and said that he'd lost his 14 year old daughter. He told them exactly what she was wearing, but they said they couldn't do much to help because she wasn't a young child. When we left, we were walking down Main Street and saw an upset young lady wearing the same thing the dad had said she was wearing. We asked her if she was lost, and she said she was. We tried to explain where her parents were, but she was too upset to understand, so I took her. While talking to her, it turned out that she was supposed to be in charge of her younger sister and thought that she was lost, too. I assured her that her father had only said they'd lost one child, so younger sister must be fine. Then she saw her parents on the sidewalk, and all was well.

My husband and I were waiting on the porch at the Boardwalk Inn for Magical Express. I was trying to rearrange my carry on bag, protecting the cotton candy I was bringing home to DS. We left the porch and were about to board the bus and a woman came over and told me that I left my purse in the chair and she turned it in. I thanked her profusely because I wouldn't have been able to fly without my license. I think that is the magic of Disney!

We enjoyed our 4/27-5/4, 2013 trip. Very relaxing with just two couples and plenty of time to take it all in.

Had a great experience at Epcot one day:

One day while exiting Soarin', my friend Josh noticed that something had been left in the basket/bin underneath his wife's seat on the ride. He grabbed it... it was a Nikon D3100 D-SLR camera. Being sure that someone would be outside the ride looking for it, he called out to see if anyone would claim it. No one did. Before taking it to turn it in to a CM, he decided to take a look at the last few photos taken (just to see if could recognize the owner). Turns out it had been over an hour since the last photo had been taken. A beautiful family of four. We looked around the Soarin' area for a little while but didn't see them. Finally decide to take it over to the main Guest Relations office to turn it in. Josh was really hesitant to hand it off to GR agent without getting some kind of receipt which they wouldn't give. They wouldn't even take Josh's number so the owner could call to verify that he had gotten his camera back. We were just trying to be sure he got it. He gave it to the agent, trusting them to follow through. I might add that the rest of the day we kept our eyes peeled for the family that had lost their camera. Funny cause the Father had on this really bright peach colored golf shirt... needless to say that's what we looked for.

No luck... but then about three hours later, we were heading towards the front of the park to exit and got in the Spaceship Earth queue to ride once more. Halfway up the ramp we saw what had to be the family going towards the center of the park. We ran back down the ramp towards them. As we got closer we could see that he had the camera strapped around his neck!! We introduced ourselves and let them know we were the ones who found the camera and turned it in. They laughed at the fact that we had looked a few shots to see what they looked like and had found them. The mom shed a few tears too because it turns out they still had some family pictures on the camera from their family Christmas. We went our separate ways feeling pretty good!

All in all... a very good day!;)

Wow that's great and good for you!! This is a great story! We had a stroller stolen from us (with stuff in the bottom basket!) a couple trips ago...It was odd because I felt leary handing over my stroller to a CM by the KS in AK I hesitated bc we had stuff in the basket but thought 'Hey this is Disney...nobody would STEAL from a stroller!!)and yep...someone took the whole brand new stroller complete with our belongings in the bottom...just be sure if you EVER bring a stroller to remove your valuables from the bottom because not everyone is like the OP...we checked several times and never got our stroller back.

My friend found an iphone in the bathroom once. We found a contact for "Mom" and called it. "Mom" proceeded to call someone elses phone with the party and we met up. Felt bad having to bust the teenager for losing the phone, but I am sure he'd rather have it that way than losing it!!

Isn't it funny how we are a little surprised that people would do the right thing.
Pixie dust all around.

I wish more people were like you. Nowadays most guests would laugh at the previous owner bad luck while rejoicing the fact they had a brand new DSLR.

Great story, happy ending!
Very glad you "found" the owners. Good for you in so many ways!

DD 10 did the same thing last year, found a phone that had been dropped in line and we planned on returning it but then someone called it so we answered. It was the guy who lost it and we told him where in the line we were and he came back to get it. He thanked DD for finding it for him.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm always afraid of losing my iPhone or something just as valuable and it not being returned.
