Anyway, On Saturday, my DS14 was outside when he saw a puppy wondering around the neighborhood looking lost. She took one look at my son and decided he was hers! Of course, he brought her home for me to see and fall in love with. She's about 8 weeks old and a real sweetheart. Yes, of course we will take care of her till we find her owners, how could we not?
We ask everyone on our street and put up flyers all over the neighborhood. We post flyers in all the grocery stores and Wal Mart.
Now it is Monday and NO ONE has called about her! I called all the vet clinics and the local animal shelter today to see if anyone had looked there for her. The lady at the shelter dropped the bomb: she said out neighborhood is one of the worst for puppies being dumped! We live just inside the city limits with a large wooded area about 300 yards away and a Wal Mart 1/4 mile in the other direction. It seems that people will take their unwanted litters of puppies and kittens to Wal Mart parking lot on Saturday and try to give them away. If they can't, they take them down the road and dump them!
Well, now she is being well loved and cared for and if no one claims her we will continue to do so. We already have a nine year old toy poodle and two cats that were rescued from a dumpster last summer when they were two weeks old. We'll just add her to the mix!
This is just my little public sevice announcement for the day: Be responsible pet owners and HAVE YOUR PETS SPAYED OR NEUTERED or don't have pets at all!

Consider yourself lucky, you now have another loyal friend for life!
Have fun with her and I'm glad that she found a good home. I cannot for the life of me imagine dumping an animal.
