We never bring a camera anywhere anymore. We use our phones.

I broke my camera on my trip once and took a cab to Walmart. I picked up one there.

It wasn't a great camera, I ended up giving it to my DD when I got home as her camera and replaced it with my usual model.

It cost way more than 15.00 each way though because I had the taxi wait for me and there was line at the camera area. I think the total for the cab ended up being around 60.00.

My husband uses his Iphone now as his camera when we travel. I don't like the picture quality as well as I like my regular camera's but in a pinch that would work.

If you are going to be there for a week, you could order a new one from Amazon and have it overnighted to your resort.
I would speak to the front desk first though to make sure the package would end up at your resort and not get lost in limbo.
