We finally arrived

At SSR. We left Long Island @ 4:30am yesterday morning. We were going to stop in Ga & spend the night then arrive here around 2-3pm today. Well after sitting in dead stop traffic in VA for 2 hrs DH decides we should drive straight threw I called MS around 3:30pm to see if they had any rooms since we weren't scheduled to arrive till today. I had reserved a dedicated 2 brdm. She had a lock-off 2 brdm. Told her I'd take it & we should be arriving around midnight - 12:30am. So we got here @ 12:30am (only 20hrs of driving..lol) DH ask's if she has a dedicated 2 brdm for the duration of our stay so we don't have to change rooms in the am. SHE DID
So now we've got an extra day here & decided to have a nice leisure day. My cousins and her kids are at the pool at this moment & DH went to the park by himself. I just booked a facial and a massage for 3:30 I figured after all that driving I need one real bad.
Since DTD isn't doing a firework show tonight we decided we're going to head over to EPCOT for Illuminations tonight.
I'll update either later or tomorrow.

That's a long drive, glad you made it safely, and what a nice idea, enjoy the facial and massage.

I was told that Illuminations is excellent for the 4th of July, so I'm looking forward to hearing your opinion. That's where we're planning to be next year!

Here's hoping you wake well rested and ready to kick-off your vacation tomorrow! Sounds like there was a lot of people hitting road for the holiday weekend! I know the streets in town here were crazy yesterday and the day before.

First off the massage and facial was very relaxing. They do tell you what products were used & which ones they recommed for you. The girl did say she'd recommed the Hydrating Eye Cream. I told her I bought it this past March & I still had some left.
We ate dinner off property last night then we headed over to EPCOT. Illuminations was wonderful. Cousins kids (13 & 14) really loved it. IMO it seemed to be more crowed last yr than this yr. Maybe people were @ HS, or Magic Kindgom I don't know.
Today we did Magic Kingdom & we only used fast pass for Splash Mountain & Thunder Mountain. The crowds are not that bad @ all. We literally would walk right onto the rides even though the signs said 10 min. wait. The longest wait was actually for the bus back here. We waited about 30 min. That has been the longest we've waited for a bus. They have been coming within 5-10 min upon arriving @ the bus stop. There is alot more regular coach bus' since the monorails are closed.
We are going to dinner @ Fulton Crab House. I love that place. Then kids want to go to HS then back to Magic Kingdom for Wishes. Also, Magic Kingdom's extra hrs are 11-2am tonight so of course the kids want to go back on all the rides. I think it's going to be a long night.....
Anyway, I'll have more of an update tomorrow. Here's some for everyone to enjoy.
