We did it.....

I was doing some back reading on this thread and someone mentioned NOT to use a screen protector on the IPAD. I am finding though the fingerprints come right off with one of those eyeglass cleaning cloths.

CASES ... I need one but where do I begin ... :scratchin

I use my partner's iPad while I am eating. Was surprised how smeary the screen got. Wiped clean as easy as can be.

His carrying case is still a bubble padded mailing envelope. He is quite satisfied with it. The added bonus of this case, it cleverly disguises that it is hiding anything expensive.

I've joined the club too but am still waiting for mine to arrive. No idea when that will be. The guy in the shop said it could be a day, it could be weeks. We are going interstate this weekend and I would have loved to take it with me. If I'd gone for the wi-fi, I could have taken it with me. They had heaps of those in stock. But figured I'd go all out and ordered the 64GB 3G.

My daughter just got home from the store with her new 64GB/3G IPad. She hasn't looked up yet.

Just a note, the Best Buy Geek Squad guy told us we might luck out and still be able to get unlimited Internet. It seems if you get an IPad made before the seventh it still gives you that option when you set up your account. When she set hers up it was still available and that was the way we went. With an eighteen year old computer and photography addict I couldn't see any other way to go.

I now want one.

Hi Kevin,

This is my first post using E-Ticket on the iPad that my Dad bought me for my birthday.(Two months after, because I could not decide which model would be best for my needs)

The boards are so easy to read with E-Ticket. The large font is great!

I am learning to use the VoiceOver feature too. It works with iBooks, Kindle App, and even E-Ticket. I will be able to read a full book by myself for the first time.

Now, the question is "Will I like reading something other than a travel guide for fun?". :-)

I have also install the WordPress app for writing DIS blogs. I can't wait to blog from the parks. I will probably drive Leah crazy once I am living down there and finding stuff to write about.

Congrats to you and John for getting your iPad. They are awesome.

Typing this from my iPad now.

I like the Oberon cases but the standard apple case is nice and not to be overlooked.

I purchased my iPad on June 6th and got unlimited option for 3G.

My iPad arrived in the store yesterday, of course! I am out of town visiting Boston. BUT my dad went by and picked it up for me. I won't be home until Saturday evening so I will go in Sunday to have it set up. I am hoping the unlimited access will still be an option. If it is I might just bite the bullet and go with that. Then I don't ever have to worry about it.

I'm a big fan of waterfield cases (sfbags.com). I have the basic slip case, which is perfect for protecting the iPad when I'm not using it. I use it nude (the iPad, not me).

well, if we start seeing lots of random posts promoting apple products across the boards, we'll know what happened.

oh wait. ;)

We're one app short of picking up an iPad. I've got a call into the developer and if it's a done deal we'll be getting one soon.

What did Larry Flint have say about the app?

Ipads are useless in sun light.

Kindles are great outdoors.

Keep this in mind if you like to read by the beach, pool, back yard, little league game, soccer practice.......you get the idea.
Kevin, the Ipod touch, which i imagine works just like the IPad, can be used in the direct sunlight.

Turn Auto Brightness on, and brightness all the way up. and your good to go.
However that being said, Im not sure if your vision may play into effect with that.

You won't drive me crazy! I'm looking forward to hearing about your experiences!

Just an update...got home Saturday night and charged the iPad up. Went in Sunday and had a genius help me get it up and running. I have to say I am in love with this thing so far. We did end up going with the unlimited plan. DH was with me at the time and said just do it. I think I will get 4-6 months usage under my belt and then make a decision about the best plan option for us. Actually might wait until the next trip to Disney to help figure usage out.

I have discovered the joys of Words with Friends and even though I fear my intelligence is being called into question with each word I type I have been playing that (screen name: Aledo Mom). Has anyone found any other cool apps?
