We booked POR after much confusion on the decision. I reserved a connecting/adjoining room because my husband, myself, three daughters and my parents are going. However someone told me that POR doesn't have adjoining rooms. Does anyone know?

:wave2:

Yes, they do. Our room that we had in the Mansion area had a connecting door to the next room.::yes::

great, thanks. I see you've stayed at contemporary, how do they compare? I've stayed at contemporary (on business years ago), last trip I stayed at Allstar Sports.

Love the Contemporary!!
You really can't compare the 2 because one is a moderate and one a deluxe. My SIL and I stayed at POR because it was just the 2 of us and we enjoyed it. Lovely resort, quiet, beautiful scenery, the rooms are a bit smaller and the bathroom area is different. The food court is nice with good selections and they have a nice lounge area. We stayed in the Magnolia Terrace building because it was a non-smoking area. We had a water view that was beautiful and we had a short walk to the bus stop.
::yes::
Now the Contemporary is different because of location. You are next to MK and close to Epcot. We could walk or take monorail to MK and would take monorail to Epcot. Rooms are nicer, there is a daybed for smaller kids to sleep on. You could get food court items at the grill and also had 3 resturants to choose from, one being all you can eat(Chef Mickey's). You have different water activities you could choose from. The bus service is excellant. I love it!

The cast members at both are great. You get a little more pampering at CR. My kids love the CR, they are 9 and 16. I think it just depends on what you want out of a resort. The POR is themed so that you feel more laid back. The CR is contemporary in it's decor which I have grown to love. I like being able to take the monorail to and from the 2 parks it services and the Mk resorts, which I like to visit and eat at their resturants.
If you don't mind spending extra on rooms try the CR.
But I know you would enjoy the POR also.

I think you will enjoy this resort. We stayed there the first time in 2000. I was worried because the trip before we stayed at Wilderness Lodge it was the perfect trip. I thought there was no way that I would enjoy POR (yes, I was being snobby) but it turned out to be a great place!! This summer will be our third stay there. Wilderness Lodge is still my all time favorite!!!

We are DVC owners and usually stay at DVC resorts on points, but used them all towards our cruise. We will be paying cash for POR and I can't wait to get back there again. It is peaceful and quiet and nice to get away from all the crowds of the parks.
