We can't go 6 without a fix- finsihed 1/14/16

I hope something opens up for you at AoA, too! Are you trying to add a night at the start or the end of the trip?

Thanks!! I think I've check about 20 times a day for the last few days :/ no luck yet.
I did however snag a garden grill lunch for one of our epcot days. :)

Hey everyone! It’s crazy the summer is winding down (which is great for me because it’s closer to our trip) I’ve made some changes to our dinning well not so much changes but additions. We have now tacked on three new ADR’s. 2 character meals so I’m pretty excited.

We snagged a BOG pre-opening breakfast on Dec 2. I also added a lunch ADR for Garden Grill on December 3rd and the much waited for Minnie’s Holiday Dine w/ Fantasmic for our last night on Dec 4th. I’m super excited about this one and I think it’s a great way to end our trip.

In other news no luck yet on tacking on the day at the beginning of our trip. I will keep checking multiple times a day and hopefully something will open up. If not I may try for 1 night at Pop so we are closer to AOA. We are also thinking about leaving out after Thanksgiving lunch w/ my family and driving for about 6 hours which would put us just driving 2 ½ on black Friday morning. Which means more time at DTD and maybe lunch at EOS.

That is all I really have right now. We are now waiting to schedule our fastpasses and just counting down the weeks (15 by the way). Like I said summer is winding down and my classes start back Aug 19. I’m taking all 4 online this semester so it doesn’t interfere with our trip and that my trip doesn’t cause me to miss more days than I’m allowed. We are also gearing up for 1 last trip of the summer. We are taking a day trip with some friends next Saturday to Folly Beach/Charleston. We will spend some time on the beach then do dinner in downtown then head back home.

Nothing new trip wise to add. I still haven't been able to add the day on to our trip. Starting to give up hope on that one. It might just be time to think of a back up plan. In real life news I've had a not so fun week. Sunday I had an allergic reaction to something I ate (I think) my whole bottom lip swelled up and it was starting to mess up my breathing. So I sat in urgent care for a few hours got some shots and had to make an apt with the allergy dr for this coming Monday. Well last night I was at the ER with a friend and sitting in the waiting room my top lip started and under my eye. So I signed in and went a head and took some Benadryl. Well the meds started bringing the swelling down before they ever saw me so I just came on home. I'm not gonna lie I'm starting to get a little worried. I know I have allergies I've had some test done about 10 years ago but they didn't test me for food. The crazy thing is I'm such a creature of habit I eat the same things all the time so it's not like it's anything new. So I'm not sure what's going on. I have broke out in hives several times too. It's just crazy. I've never been so ready for a Monday in my whole life. Have any of you ever had anything like this happen? With all this craziness we aren't going to take the day trip to folly beach so that I can be close to an area where I know where the ER and urgent care places are located. Once I figure this out it could have some effect on my dinning plans at Disney in regards to what I will be eating, so I just might be hitting you guys up for some tips on food allergies in Disney. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Sorry your allergies are giving you trouble. That's scary. I have read a lot of trip reports though with people who have allergies and if you note it in your ADRs and tell them again at the restaurant, it seems like the chefs do a fantastic job of making sure you get safe alternatives and have a great experience

Yesssss, I feel the same! It's getting closerrrrr! :cutie:

We snagged a BOG pre-opening breakfast on Dec 2.
Congrats!

I also added a lunch ADR for Garden Grill on December 3rd
Double congrats!

and the much waited for Minnie’s Holiday Dine w/ Fantasmic for our last night on Dec 4th.
Triple congrats!

Have you thought of just going ahead and booking the room at Pop, that way you don't risk them selling out also? I would hate for you to wait too long, and you can't even get in there either. If AoA opens up later, you can always change it. Also, if you do book Pop, maybe request a room close to the bridge, to make your transfer more convenient! :goodvibes

just counting down the weeks (15 by the way).
I love this idea of counting weeks instead of days! The smaller number sounds so much more manageable. So by that reasoning, I will be checking in 16 weeks from today! :cutie:

I have ZERO allergies to anything, yet I had something similar happen to me this one time, about 10 years ago. I had not eaten anything at all out of the ordinary. It was about 11pm, and I was at home and on the computer (probably on the DIS actually), and kept scratching at my palms, they were itching like crazy. Then I looked down, and saw red splotches all over my hands and forearms. I go and show my now ex, and we notice they're on my neck too, so I pull off my shirt, and the're all down my sides and back. It was right about then that my tongue started to swell! So we jumped in the car and headed to the ER. By the time we got there, my lips were all swollen too, and I couldn't talk normal. They gave me a shot of Benedryl and sent me home, and everything was fine. It's NEVER happened since! So to this day, I still have absolutely NO idea what triggered it! :confused3

Once I figure this out it could have some effect on my dinning plans at Disney in regards to what I will be eating, so I just might be hitting you guys up for some tips on food allergies in Disney.
Disney is AMAZING with allergies and special diets! And I think it's on the DISabilities forum, but I know there's TONS of discussions about allergies and Disney dining. You'll find LOTS of help here! And Lori is correct... If the doctor is able to give you an answer, just call and have the allergen noted on all your reservations. The restaurants will take EXCELLENT care of you!

I hope you all have a great weekend.
You too, pretty lady! Try to relax and not stress too much about this... Monday will be here before you know it! :goodvibes

Hello everyone!!! I know I know it’s been a while, BUT I was waiting on the doctors results before I posted. After being stabbed 100 times I have a lot of allergies for indoor/outdoor. I already knew most of them. The odd thing was no food allergies showed up. So they sent me to have blood work to test for the things we know I had ate when I had my allergic reaction. The tested on delayed reactions to meats, eggs, pineapple, broccoli and cauliflower… Pineapple my beloved 2nd favorite fruit in the entire world is now no longer going to be a part of my life. I’m so heart broken by this. I eat pineapple like every week. Those beloved Dole whips yea can’t have them. That amazing pineapple bread at Ohana yea it’s out too. I am also allergic to broccoli and cauliflower. All 3 of these are very rare to be allergic to these. Broccoli only like 4% of adults are allergic to it. They didn’t do any blood for any other veggies or fruit so I’m kind of wondering about them, I go back for a follow up in October so maybe I can get some more answers then. I have to keep an epipen with me at all times now too. So that’s going to be a new thing to lug around the parks. So that’s my allergy things that I know of. I’m going to have to make some modifications at Disney and everyday life now but at least I know the cause of it.

On the Disney front we leave in 91 Days. Yep I’ve made a change there. Little boring back story my mom works as a department manager for wal-mart so she has to work black Friday which has now became black Thursday. Last year the sales started at 6 so she had to be at work at 3 or 4. So we had to do thanksgiving dinner for lunch. Every year the sales get earlier and earlier, and we know if we do get to do thanksgiving dinner it will be at 11:00am Thanksgiving day. So I talked w/ Emily and we plan to be on the road by 2:00 thanksgiving day. We are going to drive 6.5 hours to Flagger Beach FL. Stay for the night. Then the next morning we only have like an hour and 40 mins to get to Disney. We will probably leave the hotel around 8:00 unless we are so excited we just can’t sleep. We will then make the short trip to Art of Animation where I’m so excited to say WE GOT OUR EXTRA NIGHT!!!! After months of checking 3,4,6 or more times a day. Last night I finally got the extra room. I’m so excited. :jumping1:

So we know the room will probably not be ready when we get there, but we are good with that. We will just explore around the resort some & if its warm enough to go take a quick swim to check out the pools before we head to DTD for lunch at EOS. Then this will be followed by some shopping. At some point when our room is ready we will make sure we get all or stuff in the room and set up or mini Tinkerbelle Christmas tree before heading back to DTD for our ADR at Raglan Road. It’s crazy how fast the trip is approaching. I’m so excited for all of it and can’t wait. I’m going to try and stay up to date with everyone’s trip reports and pre-trips as well as Disney news, but work is making that hard they’ve blocked all the Disney sites (except Disboards so far). I also started back to my classes last week. So working full time and taking 5 classes makes for a pretty crazy time right now. I hope to check back in soon with our Fastpass+ information. I hope you all have a magical day!

My pineapple-loving heart goes out to you, girl. :sad1:

Oh man, I would be so screwed. Broccoli pretty much the only green veggie that I actually enjoy, rather than just tolerate. What a random thing to be allergic to! It's good you're getting some answers at least, though! ::yes::

I’m going to have to make some modifications at Disney and everyday life now but at least I know the cause of it.
Definitely check out the DISabilities forum here on the DIS. I see lots of conversations over there about food allergies! :thumbsup2

OMG OMG OMG! :hyper: How excitiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!!! Congratulations! :woohoo:

I'm so glad you got your extra day!! Sorry to hear about the allergies though. I'd be ok with the broccoli and cauliflower, but pineapple would be so sad.....it's like a little trip back to Hawaii when I find a good one!

Yea the pineapple kills me. How do you go from eating something one week (that includes the broccoli) to the next week you are allergic to it so bad that you end up in urgent care.

YAY for your extra day!

I’m going to have to make some modifications at Disney and everyday life now but at least I know the cause of it.

Oh goodness! what CAN you eat?

Last year the sales started at 6 so she had to be at work at 3 or 4. So we had to do thanksgiving dinner for lunch.

This drives me bonkers... Whatever happened to FAMILY Time?!?
