Well we have managed to gather our finances and decided we can go back to the world next nov/december. :yay: I thought we would have to wait but looking at prices for this year booking around now we have found some really good deals .So hopefully the same will apply for next year.I don't think it is worth booking a package as the flight and accomodation seems to be a lot cheaper booking seperate.Has anyone ever done a stay off site then a stay onsite?.I quite like the idea of a few days off site (to keep the cost down a bit) and then a few nights in disney.Either way we will go even if it means staying off site for the 2 weeks-may even have a go at driving.Just wondered what sort of prices people normally pay to go this time of year:banana: :yay:

We would recommend offsite - you can get a private villa with its own pool on a rental resort close to Disney for less than staying onsite.

:woohoo:  Let the planning commence :)

Claire ;)

We're going dec 08 from the 21st Dec- 2nd Jan staying onsite. If your staying over the holiday period i very much recommed you staying onsite. We stayed offsite the first time we went over xmas and it was a nightmare queueing in traffic after the fireworks etc for ages, we then stayed onsite in dec 05 and it was so much better and the experience was fantastic!!

Crabbie,
it will depend on when you are going.
We go end November begginning of December and thats quite cheap for flights and good availability.
I pay around £3,500 for three Upper class tix at that time.
Later, nearer Christmas and new year the prices go up if i went, say, 21st dec to 2nd jan, then the cost would be £3,442 EACH!

Crowds are low after thanksgiving and gradually rise to Christmas and new year, when the parks can close due to the amount in them.

When are you thinking of goping?

Hi, just to say we are due to go back to our favourite family holiday ever in just 20 days time, but having been 3 times in last 5 years the best time we ever went was the very end of November, just after Thanksgiving.

We had blue sky while Christmas songs played, watched Christmas parades, 'Disney Snow', and had an amazing time. Add to this just being able to walk onto every ride, no queue on most things, no rain.....perfect. If we could take the kids out of school for 2 weeks again, this would be our choice, but exams intervene I am afraid! It was also much, much cheaper than our current holiday, half price in fact....the price of having children doing exams I am afraid!

We stayed off site, we tend to go for a cheaper option and are returning for the third time to the Fairfield Inn at Marriott Village at Lake Buena Vista. You are right on the entrance to Disney, rooms are clean and adequate with a fridge and inclusive buffet breakfast (you can fill your fridge with milk, fruit, yoghurt etc, plus whatever you might want from the Goodings mart at the Crossroads, 2 minutes away! We aim not to be in the hotel much so don't need to spend much money on accommodation. If we were holidaying in Europe it might be different.

Whatever you decide, you will have an amazing time. My number one tip, apart from all the theme park stuff is go to Cirque du Soleil if you can. Amazing!

Have fun!

Hey guys thanks for all the advice.OBI-your spelling mate:scared1: and you go on at me:lmao: We normally go around the 28th november but due to uni it may well be the 2nd december '08'.There is no way we can go upper class. As much as I love PE it will be economy next year.I will even consider carrier pigeon as long as we get there:rotfl2: We have to keep finances down and I reakon flights will be around the £900 for 2 ad and a child with VA and BA.
Wife of fozzy-We have been twice before in november/december and I totally agree that it is a fab time to go.Love all the xmas theming and lesser crowds. After going in the height of summer (cus of school holidays although it was a lot better than I imagined),the heat nearly killed us but as DD only 5 and she is allowed time out of school we will be taking advantage of it.We have actually looked at staying at the fairfield or springhill suites as wayneg really rates this complex.I would still like to stay onsite for a few days though so we are looking at renting some points from a dvc member for the last 5-6 nights of our second week.At £5 a point at 9 points a night seems quite resonable to me.Well fingers toes crossed this time next year we will be on the count down- the plannng. :thumbsup2

Alyson,
great news about your holiday plans for next year! I would recommend a villa or even just for the first week. you have so much more freedom, have a go at driving, i did this year and found it so very easy! and that was a 7 seater minivan!!
