About a month ago I posted about looking for a rescue dog and had a lot of questions about rescue groups. Then all the worry and questions about the homestudy.
Well, we picked up our new furbaby girl today!!!!
She's shy and doesn't care for her new furbrother Kobi (who's 1) yet. BUT- she was living happily w/ 3 other dogs so I think it will just take some adjusting. Already in the few hours we've had her she's gone from not wanting to even look at me to following me and my ds wherever we go. So, within a week I think she's going to be like she was always here.
Her name is "Sweet Pea"-- Ironically that is the nickname I call Kobi the most- so everytime I say it-he comes running too.
We are actually going to use that as her nickname too and over time incoporate her new name--which will be Remi.
This is her:

The most ironic thing happened too. The rescue group has dogs all over the country. The first one we looked at was in the Mid-Atlantic area (We're in NY). However, it had another family already identified for him. Then we seen a second one in Philadelphia- it turns out he's bitten and they didn't want a family w/ any kids (even though our son is older). Then after almost a week--I seen "Sweet Pea" had been added that day. Anyhow, I called and my adoption coordinator felt she'd be a perfect match. So, she put me in contact w/ the foster mom. Turns out Sweet Pea was only 40 minutes from my house. I couldn't believe her some dogs were 10-15 hrs away and here she was less than an hour. I think it was fate.
