We braved the 4th!!! AND the rain...and the crowds??? 7/1-7/8 BOOKED NEXT TRIP!!!!

Ugh. I hate when people invade your personal space. I just don't understand what they have to gain by cramming in around you...There is still the same amount of people ahead of you in line whether you're crammed together or spaced out. :confused3

I love those towel animals! The Mousekeepers are so creative.

Oh, and the best movie musical is definitely The Sound of Music. :thumbsup2

Wow some of those youtube videos are amazing! some people are so imaginative!! Think my favourite is the 'Cell Block Tango' - I didn't recognise the ugly stepsister to start with, that must be from the Cinderella 'Twist in Time' prequel/sequel?!

I LOVE musicals too! When we were younger, I would play show tunes on the piano while my sister sang along (actually, we still do it from time to time now with a glass of wine!!)

Favourite musicals (apart from all Disney's, of course!):

Hairspray
The King & I
The Sound of Music
Annie
Grease
Grease 2
Chess (the duet "I Know Him So Well" is one of my favourite songs!)
Evita
Oliver
Phantom of the Opera
Les Miserables
Dream Girls
Cats
West Side Story
My Fair Lady

Yup... I'm a pretty big musicals fan!! :goodvibes

The house is quiet and dark, and it's almost 1:00 am, so I can't watch those videos - but I will be back and watch them! They sound great!

My favorite musical is The Sound of Music!! I love musicals!!

I don't watch many on video, but I love, love, love seeing them live. I don't care if it's anything from elementary school play to Broadway - I like it! Of course Broadway is a bit more enjoyable...;)

Our mousekeeper was the best!

Yes, I love Sound of Music too!

Thanks for the great suggestions! I have been obsessed with the Les Mis soundtrack for a good year now...I really want to see it if it comes back to Broadway but Tom saw it and said after knowing the music so well, the stage show is actually disappointed compared to what you envision in your mind!

Musicals are so fun! We watched the "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" scene again last night and my 2 year old niece was having a blast singing and dancing! She's just like her mother and me! I love it!

Day 7 - Departure Day :(
July 7, 2010

We woke up fairly early this morning because we wanted to make the most of our day before heading to back to POR for the sad, sad Magical Express bus to the airport. I think I said this in the beginning of my TR, but it is amazing how one bus can be soooooo exciting and so depressing, depending on which direction it's going....

So where are we going today??

Well if you know ANYTHING about us by now, you know we headed to Epcot!

The sun was shining and it was just a perfect day for some World Showcase fun!

We got to the bus stop and noticed that the crowds were really starting to pick up. The bus stop was PACKED....mostly with a very large tour groups, whose leader was speaking to a CM and pretty soon, they all moved off to the side and a Blizzard Beach bus came and picked them all up in a different location. I thought it was pretty cool that Disney was able to accommodate them with their own bus. It's just better for everyone that way.

So then this shady non-disney bus pulls up and some guys walks out and announces that this bus is going to "Epcot Center." We've had that happen once before and found out that when the parks are crowded, Disney will use hire Mears buses and drives to pick up the slack. Even so, we were apprehensive about getting on the bus and decided to take some pictures in case we needed them later as evidence.

BUT, as promised, the bus took us to Epcot and it wasn't long before we were basking in the shadow of Spaceship Earth!

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

We were surprised to see the SE line quite long...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

But that didn't bother us because we had another destination in mind!
ry%3D480

Some construction pics from Mexico...

We went in and headed for La Cava de Tequilla!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

It's really small in there but so nice and relaxing! The drinks and guac were delicious!

When we were done, we took another spin on Gran Fiesta Tour!

Sorry for the short update but we need to head to Home Depot for some paint! Now that Tom is officially unemployed, we need to spruce this place up because it doesn't look like we're buying a house any time soon!

More World Showcase coming up!

LOL I'm glad you guys survived the shady non-Disney bus! :rotfl:

I always seem to start and end my trips with Epcot, I just love it so much! :lovestruc Love the pics of La Cava De Tequila! The margaritas are SO good, I've never eaten there though, it looks good!

I also love the Gran Fiesta Tour, Mexico has become one of my favorite countries to visit in WS! :cool1:

I LOOOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEEEEEEE musicals!

She hates Helena? OMG I love her! I wasn't that keen of Sweeney. I need to watch it again.

My fave I think has to be singin' in the rain.

Meet me in St-Louis is soooooooo good! Anchors Away too, and Easter Parade.

I'm really into Harry Potter these days. I'm on page 400 of the last book. Now it's getting good.

Thanks for all the awesome Buffy clips!

Day 7 cont.
July 7, 2010

Forgot to post this photopass pic we took on the way to WS!!

So we left Mexico one margarita in and, OF COURSE had to get another one from outside before moving on...

http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0QctnDFo2bsmSm

We walked around WS and found Mulan in China!!
ry%3D400

Tom opted for the German beer...

http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0QctnDFo2bsmTA

Kept walking and found another photopass photog in Morocco...
ry%3D400

I stopped to go to the bathroom and when I got out, Tom was no where to be found! :confused3

I looked around and saw THE BEAST!!!! As soon as I saw him, I immediately knew where Tom was!!

So I joined him in the line to meet Belle and the Beast! We were so excited, as we'd never seen him before!

ry%3D400

Just a little ways down, we found Aurora...

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Since we had enjoyed the hopscotch earlier in the trip, we were excited to see it being made!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

It was time for another drink!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Back around for another loop around the World!!

What's this?!?!
ry%3D480

Right next to the Mexican pavilion where Donald used to do meet and greets, they had this wall up. We didn't think anything of it until we saw some people going in and out...then it was our mission to see what was behind the wall!!!
ry%3D400

Ooooh, oooh! I think I see something!
ry%3D480

We kept snapping and eventually I was able to score these pics!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Yes, that guy was trying to block my picture! Well, I thought I had a really great picture and was all excited to post it on the DIS...only to find out, they took the wall down like the next day! So all that for nothing!

But...Look where we are!!! Time for another 'rita!
ry%3D480

This was actually really fun! Tom was practically behind the rita stand trying to get a picture behind the wall still, while I got my drink. He was able to get these good pictures of margarita purchasing IN ACTION!

ry%3D480

This is one of my FAVORITE pictures from the trip. You can see the CM's arm in the forefront as he pours my drink and I'm in the background, out of focus, but you can see that I'm dancing a little with excitement! Hehe!

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

So there was another CM near Tom who saw that he was taking pictures of me so she offered to take one of the both of us!! How cool is this picture!?!

ry%3D480

The Mexican band was STILL playing (or playing again) this time around. I subtly ran in for a pic..
ry%3D480

The guys saw me trying to get a sneaky pic so they asked me to come and pose!
ry%3D480

We stopped for a quick little sit-down near the African Outpost. (Check out the guy in the background!)
ry%3D480

We were lucky to catch a little fife and drum action in America on the second time around...

http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0QctnDFo2bsmTz

A picture of ME taking video of the fife and drum!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Next stop was Japan. Since we were little, my sister and I have ALWAYS bought Yan Yans from the Japan store. Now we always bring each other back some whenever we go! So here I am purchases some Yan Yans for us!
ry%3D480

Alas....it was time to go. So we headed back towards the exit.

Tom stopped in the bathroom just outside of SE so I took some vid and pics.

http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0QctnDFo2bsmUN

ry%3D480

Tom came out and we were on our way out of the park, stopping to take pics, OF COURSE!
ry%3D480

We did our traditional "sad face" picture before leaving.
ry%3D480

Then we saw a photopass photog and just HAD to do one more. We even did our "sad face" for photopass! (Doesn't Tom have the BEST frownie face?)
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

But we couldn't leave Disney World mad at it!! So we switched from thumbs down to thumbs up!
ry%3D480

Bus stop pics...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Tom had one last stop in Fulton's.
ry%3D480

And I shed a little tear waiting for the ME bus to come.
ry%3D480

I HATE seeing the buses going to and fro when I'm on the ME bus to the airport!
ry%3D480

OH, just a note about the ME bus to the airport. Remember how I said the ME driver on arrival day was slow? This guy was SO much worse! Our flight was at 7:50, the bus picked us up at POR around 4:45. We had a lot of stops, even going to Old Key West, leaving and then going BACK to Old Key West. So by the time we left WDW property, it was already like 5:45. Then, he spent the WHOLE ride talking and trying to make jokes, but guess what? I don't WANT to hear your corny jokes! I'm super bummed because my WDW vacation is over and I'm in no mood for it! AND SPEED UP!!

So like I said, our flight was at 7:50...we got to the airport at around 7! The plan was to eat, because I don't think we ate anything all day (maybe some chips from England) and Tom really wanted to go to the Harry Potter store. So by the time we made it to the gate, I asked someone there if the flight was boarding and she said it was actually LAST CALL!! YIKES! It was just so weird because we usually have to sit around forever before the flight and this time we barely made it!

Anyway, this is the last picture from the trip...
ry%3D480

Up Next: Video montage of the trip!

Excellent, excellent, excellent trip report, I'm so sad it's over!!! :sad2: I know exactly what you mean about seeing the Disney buses going around while leaving on a DME bus... super depressing! I also always hate getting to MCO and seeing all the happy people arriving TO Orlando and knowing they still have their whole vacation ahead of them! Well, I'm happy for them but very sad for me! Can't wait to see your montage! :thumbsup2

Yeah, I really love Gran Fiesta Tour too. I'm one of those old-school, "don't mess with the things I love" disney goer so I was super bummed when they announced that they were changing El Rio Del Tiempo. But I have to admit, putting the 3 cabelleros in the ride is just perfect. I still miss the old song, though!

I'm really into Harry Potter these days. I'm on page 400 of the last book. Now it's getting good.

Thanks for all the awesome Buffy clips!

I've been trying to get through book 2 for like a year now! I just can't get into it! When I first started reading them, I literally read one right after the other and then again...and AGAIN! Seriously, like 3 or four times, all of the books! I want to read Deathly Hallows again before the movie...I better start now!

Excellent, excellent, excellent trip report, I'm so sad it's over!!! :sad2: I know exactly what you mean about seeing the Disney buses going around while leaving on a DME bus... super depressing! Thanks so much! So sad, right!?

Oh, it is bittersweet to see the end of your trip. My kids were watching your videos with me just now and they kept asking who you guys were :) It's hard to explain the DIS boards to them. I'm already a nut for being their mom so these DIS boards make me odder to them :rotfl: My daughter just asked me though when we get to go so it's nice to say 3 weeks! I can't wait to see the video montage!!

What a wonderful TR this has been Nikki, soo glad the sun came out for you by the end of the trip too! :cool1:

I love that you make the most of your last day too - I always get the latest flight back to London that we can get to maximise the time in WDW! :wizard: I always get soo sad when I leave the park on the last day, and when the ME bus arrives.. and when I exit under the WDW gates!! :sad1: I don't know anywhere else in the world that makes me feel like that! :cloud9:

Looking forward to the video!

Emma princess: x

ps - in the first video in the Germany pavillion, does someone ask you where you got your 'pin' from?!

The walls all around Epcot are so ugly. Aren't they? I couldn'T believe how many there were.

Awe so sad it's over.

But it was a great trip report as always Sweetie ;)

p.s: Yans yans?

So sad your trip is over. :( I really don't think I'd be able to handle going on the Magical Express back to the airport, it sounds really depressing. I'm sad enough as it is, I don't need to drive around Disney property for an hour listening to bad jokes! :rotfl:

Can't wait to see your video montage! :cool1:
