Just had to say we booked our Virgin flights last night - can't believe we managed to get them at £650 for the middle of July next year. Found them with opodo. Already got our seats sorted out......just can't wait........
There is only three of us going - me DH and DS (who'll be 15 next summer), and we're going to go for a villa - enjoyed it so much this summer.
Still to book the villa and car... but am enjoying looking..

Great news!! Let the planning begin!

:yay: :yay: Excellent news ~ Let the planning begin :yay: :yay:

Planning is one of the most fun parts! We are going around the same time, see my countdown below :thumbsup2 . We are flying BA though, same as always.

A complication with co-ordinating villa with flights meant that we are having 2 extra days in Florida before moving into the villa, so my mum and I are dumping my dad and brother in Pop Century while we stay Magic Kingdom view at Contemporary :rotfl2: :rotfl: :cool1: .

Where are you looking at for villas? We are staying in Rolling Hills which is in the Emerald Island area. Really good location.

Hi Louise
Good on you and your mum! Hope you are both going to get pampered whilst your there!!
We have found a three bedroom villa on Eagle Pointe, (just south of Indian Point) very quite but quite central for all our golf and shopping! It looks nice and clean and was a fabulous price for high season ($1250 for 17 days). Hope it's ok, as we've never stayed round there before.
As DS will be 15 when we go next year, we are going to be playing golf rather than go to the Disney Parks (revisited all of them this summer), although, saying that, we always go to one of the water parks, and visit Downtown Disney a lot too!
This summer we had 6 in our party and had a lovely villa near Reunion. Just a bit far out for our hectic schedule (visited every Disney Park, every shopping mall, + played 6 rounds of golf in 2 weeks). I always think, if you are seriously 'doing' Disney, you need to be on site! It just saves so much time, and you really do reap the benefits. Last summer, we took my DD and her boyfriend, so had a villa to keep costs down for them.
Where abouts is your villa?

We have driven around Eagle Pointe and it is nice, like you say close to Indian Point on Poinciana Boulevard.

Probably about 10 minutes or so to the junction of the 192, if you turn right and then take a left at the junction of Vineland Road there is a very good Publix supermarket there.

Hi Johnny
Thanks for the info about Eagle Pointe. It's always a risk, when you've not seen a place before.
Already done a google map search for walmart!! The one on the 192, isn't that far - if you go north on S.Poinciana Blvd and take a right, it brings you right out on the 192, right next to Walmart!! Its not too far from an Edwin Watts golf shop either!
Will check the Publix too!
We enjoyed having a villa so much this summer, that we were determined to have another again next year. As I said before, families with young children who want to get the most out of Disney, do benefit from staying on site (been there got the t shirt), but now my kids are growing and have different interests, a villa is the best option! We're going for 17 days next summer, so I'm hoping to get some rest!! I'm certainly looking forward to it!
Thanks again
Tracy

Hi Tracy,

Just looking at the thread and saw that you have managed to get a villa for a fab price, we have never been to Florida and are going for the first time next April. We are all (husband and 2 teenagers) sooooo excited!! Is the villa you have booked near to all the attractions. Could you also let me have the details so that I could price it for us, the ones I have been looking at have been really pricey. Thanks a lot.

Hi Tracy,
We've sayed in Indian Point before and it was a good location, so you should be absolutely fine. I agree, Reunion can be a bit out of the way for some people, us included.

We don't overdo the Disney parks as we are yearly visitors and we do lots of other stuff too, like eating and shopping :lmao: . We're only staying onsite for 2 days so we'll not do much really.

Here's the link to the villa we're staying in. It's further west from you, just off 192. We already know the area so no surprises there. http://www.heritagevacationhomes.com/index.php

Cath,
Have pm'd you!

Louis, your villa looks lovely! I'm looking forward to a bit of golf, but lots of 'chilling'!!

Tracy

Tracy we are so lazy when we get to the villa. It's just the perfect type of base for us. I love to just sit and read by the pool, or overeat grossly while slobbing out in my bedroom at night watching silly US TV lol.

None of us golf but I can certainly see the attraction! Isn't it very very hot to be on the golf course in July though? Unless you go early morning, or maybe you're just very hardy.

Yes Louise,
Its very very hot in July .... lovely!
To be honest, when you're on a golf buggy, and your whizzing down the fairway, the breeze is enough to stop you worring about the heat. Besides, now we are wise - and take a nice cool face towel in the ice box, and plenty of fluids.
I'd rather have it like that than our grey weather here! Roll on next year!
Tracy

Yeah I can see where you're coming from. As long as you precautions to stay as cool as you can, there's nothing better than getting a good dose of Vitamin D from that glorious sun. I'm dreading this weekend when the clocks go back. The cold and dark is not me at all.
