We are a family of 5 - 2 adults, 3 kids and we just returned from a week in WDW on the free dining plan. We did use every credit (although for the last 2 CS we got lunches to take for the plane ride home). We definitely loved trying out the DDP but feel it was way too much food and we would most likely not buy it on a future trip - especially since our oldest will be 10 by the next time we go. We used some of our CS credits for breakfasts in the resort food court, a couple of breakfasts in the parks, one lunch at Earl of Sandwich, one at Tusker House and a couple for later suppers at the food court. We used our TS credits for dinner at WCC, a late lunch at LeCellier, dinner at LTT, breakfasts at Chef Mickey's and Donald's, dinner at Beaches & Cream and another late lunch at the SciFi. We used a few CS credits at the Main St. bakery for breakfast. We used many snack credits on sodas or waters and ice cream bars, but we did try a few new things - especially the CC cookie/vanilla ice cream sandwich from the Main St bakery and a Dole Whip. Some of the credits I feel we got the best use out of were: the rotissere chicken at Tusker House which my husband and I shared for lunch - 1 CS; LeCellier where my husband had the NY strip steak and proclaimed it the best steak he's ever had; the ice cream sandwich, which was huge for 1 S; 2 bakery items and 1 drink at the Main St bakery - the cinnamon rolls were awesome for 1 CS; and Beaches and Cream where all 5 of use were able to get appetizers, entrees, drinks and desserts. I'm glad we tried the DDP and would very likely do it again if offered for free. We tried out a few new restaurants - WCC, LeCellier, Donald's, Tusker House and SciFi and returned to a few old favorites - Earl of Sandwich, LTT, Chef Mickey's and Beaches and Cream. It was a great feeling to just hand over our card after anything we ate and get a receipt back for $0. We totaled our receipts and figure we ate about $1150 worth of food. Any questions - feel free to ask. I'll try my best to answer them.

Great Report! We used every last credit too. I felt like we "won the game" :cheer2: because we used all credits and didn't use any snack credits on soda or bottle water (we drank free ice water between meals).

Way to go!! Isn't it such a feeling of accomplishment when you have used all of your credits and you didn't have to pay a dime?!?! It's like Lizzybee said, it's like winning the game!

Glad you had a great time!

Thanks for the report... I plan on having breakfast at Main Street Bakery... cinn rolls yummmmmmmm!

I have a question. You said beaches and cream was a good value. We are planning on eating there and I have one kid who will be a child credit. I posted a post a little while ago asking what they are allowed for dessert and someone said they only got a cookie. Is that correct? It seemed kinda strange to me since it is an icecream place and everyone else in the group would be getting ice cream so why would they give the kids only a cookie. Were your kids able to get icecream and if so did they have a small sundae menu for kids or did they just pick off of the big one. I just know my dd will flip out if we all get sundaes and they give her a cookie. Almost forgot to ask.... What were your choices of appetizers? I didn't see any appetizers listed and just assumed you didn't get one. Thanks.

I wasn't sure what to expect at Beaches and Cream. I had read conflicting reports here. We had Maria as our server and she was great! I asked ahead of time how the dining plan worked and she said we all got appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts. She even said that some people share credits to get more use out of them. We didn't because we had all of our TS credits planned out with nowhere else to fit in any meals. We definitely could have shared because there was so much food; and we have done so when eating here toher times. I clarified that the kids could order their own appetizers and she said yes. We all got an appetizer - we ordered fries, onion rings, a caesar salad, chili and chicken noodle soup - we tried a little of everything. My husband and I had sandwiches and the kids each ordered meals off the kids menu. When it was time to order dessert I again questioned if the kids could order ice cream and she again said yes. She did say cookies came with the meal but she would package them up to take with us which she did. The kids each ordered the Mickey Mouse sundae so I don't know if they could have ordered anything else. We were very happy with this as a use of our TS credit. The bill came to just over $100.

Sounds like you had a great time. We've done the DDP twice now (once free and once paid for) and we are doing it again in 13 days (Free again). Of course, of the two, we prefer the free way! :rotfl2: We agree, it is a lot of food and my family (myself, DM, and DD almost 7) usually end up sharing 2 meals. We did it both times before and it worked out great. We still ended up taking desserts back to our room!

Maybe we'll have to give BC a try this time.

Oh, and we can't wait for cinammon rolls at Main St.-we haven't had these yet but I love the option of 2 bakery and 1 soda for 1 CS. My DD loves cin. rolls! :cloud9:

On both our previous times on DDP we too ended up using our last credits for food for the trip home (better than most airport takeout) and I'm sure we'll do it again this year. I'm also sure, thanks to the Snack Credit changes, we won't have as many SC leftover at the end. We had a hard time using them all up before.

Thanks for the info on B&C. We plan to go back there in just a few weeks. :)

We're ones who used credits there last year (3 different times), and the child's meal didn't include appetizer & dessert at the time (only ordered kid's meal once though). It'll be nice if kids can get everything now, otherwise we'll turn in DD's TS for the CS plus snacks.

We did have Maria as our server the first 2 times, but not the time we ordered the kid's meal. I won't go into details, but Maria took some liberties with what was included on the ddp, and brought out items that we didn't order (and didn't want). The 2nd time, we specifically asked her not to bring extras.

When we did order the kid's meal, the CM seemed upset that DD didn't get dessert (DD was fine - she shared ours), even asked the manager, who said it was the cookie.
