We just returned from our 11/28-12/6 trip to the World. We were on the regular dining plan and it felt as if all we did was eat. We actually had a hard time using our snack credits because no one wanted snacks. We were a party of 11 but I don't know my cousin's family's opinions of the restaurants so I will just talk about my family's experience - we are me, dh, dd25, ds8 and dd5.

11/28 - Flame Tree BBQ and Kona Cafe

We arrive7d at AK around 1:00 and went straight to Flame Tree BBQ. I had the ribs and thought they were very good - I gave the beans to my cousin's dd2 and she ate them all. Dh and dd25 had the turkey sandwich and they much have been good because there wasn't a drop left. Ds8 and dd5 had the hot dogs. They both ended up frustrated with the buns that fell apart and they both ended up wearing ketshup the rest of the day on their shirts - but they ate the hot dogs. I had the key lime mousse, dh and dd25 had the chocolate mousse and ds8 and dd5 had chocolate chip cookies.

We left AK around 6 and headed for the Poly for our dinner at Kona. We had to wait around 30 minutes past our ADR but for a group of 11, I thought that was pretty good - dc's dh didn't agree. First we had to speak to the chef about allergies (latex). I had the pork chop and thought it was a bit dry, dh and dd25 both had the steak without the sauce and there wasn't anything left, ds8 had yet another hot dog and dd5 ordered the Mickey shaped ravioli - she didn't like it and they replaced it with the grilled chicken with pasta - minus the sauce. I had the chocolate fondue but was so stuffed from the meal that I couldn't really enjoy it, dd25 had the Kona Kone and the kids had the sundae, I'm not sure what dh had. My dc's dh left his cell phone on the table and it apparently was thrown in the laundry with the black napkins - he went back 3 times checking to see if it was found. They had him complete a form. He ordered a new phone from Verizon and it was shipped out the next day - Disney refunded his $50 replacement fee for the new phone.

11/29 - Sunshine Seasons and Coral Reef

Lunch was at Sunshine Seasons. I had the 1/2 chicken and shared it with my cousin's ds5 - he ate half of it. Dh and dd25 had the turkey sandwich. The kids both had the mini subs with turkey. No complaints on anything. Dessert was strawberry shortcake, chocolate brownie, rice krispie treat and cookies.

Dinner was at Coral Reef. We were sat at two tables on the 2nd tier and had a decent view of the tank - although the kids didn't seem interested in it. We had 2 separate servers and it caused a bit of confusion when it came bill time since the 2 families were mixed at both tables. The chef came to the table to discuss the latex allergies and came back to make sure we knew that they used latex gloves to do the laundry - this didn't seem to be a problem for either person. He told us that Disney no longer uses gloves in food preparation at all so we didn't speak to any other chefs after this. I believe we all had the steak except for the kids and they were very good. Ds8 got pizza and dd5 got grilled chicken. Desserts were creme brulee, sorbet, chocolate wave and the same sundaes for the kids - although this time they had plastic dolphin's sticking out of them.

11/30 - Riverside Mill and Cosmic Rays

After a morning at MK, we returned to POR and had a late lunch around 2:00 at Riverside Mill. Ds8 and I had pepperoni pizza - we both love the WDW pizza. Dd25 had the kids turkey pinwheel and dd5 ate her 8 piece chicken nuggets. Dh had the grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was good. I don't really remember what desserts we had.

We went back to the MK in the late afternoon and had a very late dinner during EMH at Cosmic Rays. I was a little bummed because all of the lines were closed except the burger/hot dog line. Dh, ds8 and myself all had the double bacon cheeseburgers - I split mine with dd5. I'm not sure what dd25 had since it was completely gone before I got back from the line. I had been looking forward to the chicken/ribs combo but never did get it.

12/1 - Sci-Fi Dine In and 50's Prime Time Cafe

My dh and I went off on our own this morning while the kids slept in. The rest of the group met us just in time for our 11:10 ADR at Sci-Fi Dine In. I thought it was really dark in there and had a hard time reading the menu or seeing what I was eating. Dh and dd25 had some sort of sandwiches - probably turkey or chicken, I had the ribs, ds8 had the pizza and dd5 had a cheeseburger. No one ate much because we all downed milkshakes before the food arrived. The food was good, we just weren't very hungry.

Dinner was at 50's Prime Time Cafe and this was the best experience of the trip. We had Cooper as our Cousin and he was great. My ds8 asked for too many refills and was given 3 refills at one time and was told he would need rubber sheets for the night. My dh was scolded for eating too fast and my dd25 was scolded for putting her food on dh's plate. I was fed my carrots airplane style. Dh had the pork loin, I had the friend chicken, dd25 had the pot roast, ds8 had yet another hot dog and I'm not sure what dd5 had. Plates were cleaned and we had a blast. The kids asked all week if we could go back.

Great start. I have to admit you cracked me up...I think you are the first person I ever heard say they LOVED Disney pizza. We are from Chicago and think the pizza at Disney tastes like cardboard. But your reviews are wonderful and I'm anxious for the rest. :)

12/2 - Break Day / CRT

Today was our day off. I believe everyone had snacks of some sort but dinner was at 4:00 at CRT. We used this day as a celebration of my dd5's birthday - her 6th birthday is today - exactly 1 week later. My dd25 did the little girls hair complete with crowns and glitter and bought them princess sashes. One of the CM's actually thought they had been to BBB. Dinner was wonderful and everyone had a good time. I know the adults all had prime rib, I believe ds8 had another hot dog and dd5 had grilled chicken strips and dry pasta. Desserts were creme brule, sorbet, chocolate buckle and more kids' ice cream sundaes.

12/3 - Pizza Planet / Riverside Mill

We had lunch at Pizza Planet and every enjoyed their WDW pizza. Ds8 and I had pepperoni, dd25 shared a cheese with dd5. We took our rice krispie treats and ate them at Lights Motor Action.

Dinner was very late at the Riverside Mill. I had the sliced beef, dh and dd5 had the sliced turkey, not sure what dd25 had and ds8 had another pepperoni pizza. All was good - I couldn't believe the portions of turkey / beef we got - we easily could have shared with a couple more people. Actually my cousin's ds5 did eat quite a bit of my beef.

12/4 - Crystal Palace / Casey's / Riverside Mill

This was a solid day of rain. My cousin's family decided to sleep in and meet us at Crystal Palace. I thought the ADR was at 11:00 but it was actually at 1:00 - good thing or they would have missed it. What can I say - you don't go here for the food. It was our first time at lunch and it was ok and filling but nothing special. The kids did have a blast with the characters though. This was the only character meal we scheduled because we weren't sure how my cousin's younger children (the 2 and 4 y/o's) would do - turns out it would not have been a problem.

My dd25 and I had tickets to the MVMCP. We stood in the rain and ate Casey's hot dogs and corn dog nuggets while waiting for the fireworks. I had not had Casey's in years and was quite impressed - that was one huge hot dog. The CM's tried to make us take large Coke's even though we only wanted the medium. Dh took the kids back to the food court at POR - I have no idea what they had.

12/5 - Electric Umbrella / LeCellier

We didn't arrive at Epcot until 1:00 and went straight for the Electric Umbrella. Basic burgers/fries. My dh, dd25 and ds8 all had the bacon double cheeseburgers. I shared the same with dd5. I believe we all had cookies for dessert.

Dinner was at LeCellier at 5:00. We really weren't hungry because dinner was so late but we went anyway. We had a really good server. Dd25 and I had the filet with mashed potatoes, dh had the NY strip and both kids had the kids steak. My ds and dd25's steaks were both really undercooked and had to be sent back - dd25's was sent back 2x and they never did get it well done - she left more than 1/2 behind. She had ordered the sauce on the side and didn't like it so I put it all on mine - all I can say is wonderful. ds8 didn't eat any of his dinner - said it was too spicy. It did seem to have a little kick for a kids steak. Dd25 and dh had the chocolate mousse, I had the creme brule and the kids had ice cream.

12/6 - Pizzafari

Our last meal was lunch at Pizzafari. Dh had the turkey sandwich, ds8 and I shared a pepperoni pizza and dd25 and dd5 shared a cheese pizza.

We headed to POR for the family to catch Magical Express and dh, ds8 and I got in the car and started the drive home.

If you have any questions about any of these, just ask.
