We have park to park tickets and staying at HRH. My husband, 2 kids (age 11 and 13), and myself arrive at the Orlando airport tomorrow at 8am. I figure we will be able to get to the park around 10am. We have an additional 5 full says so I am just trying to figure out what we should do tomorrow? I am thinking we should just go and get our wands and hang our and explore Harry Potter stuff. Any ideas of what we should do on our extra day? To be honest I have been a slacker and have nothing planned for the week except that we planned to arrive the rest of the week as soon as the park opens. This is our first trip to Universal. I did just sign up for TPs...better late than never...lol!

They have a great pool, mid week take an off day sleep in and go to the pool. Check out City walk there are a lot of great restaurants and stores Or go to Disney Springs I have 9 and 12 year olds and they loved trex café they also have a hot air balloon ride check out groupon for that.
So wish I was you... Have a Great time

PS at Wizarding world Three broomsticks is an awesome place to eat (on the Adventures side)

I'd go do the HP stuff on arrival day. We always do (though we arrive by car around lunchtime and do our food shopping for the condo before we hit the parks). Sun is often a lighter day due to people traveling that day, so we generally have experienced low wait times for the HP rides then.

Our non-park day we usually drive over the Kennedy Space Center, but 1) we always have a car and 2) our boys are total nerds and they love museums esp if they have things that go fast (for the record, they were 17 and 19 our last trip and we still did the KSC and they still say it's the best part of Orlando).

If you don't want to drive the 65 or so minutes on toll roads to the Space Coast, I'd hang out at the pool and play some mini golf. Someone at this board mentioned a tour of the Hard Rock, which I plan to try during our August trip this year. It might not be your kids' cup of tea, but it might be.

You will have plenty of days and express pass. Your planning is done.

No need to hit the gate when they open. Whenever you get up and wonder over will be fine.

Thanks everyone. We will just hang out and do HP stuff

That is what I was hoping]! Going to the park as soon as it opens is more to beat the heat. We usually take a mid-day break and cool off in the pool

Five days with express pass requires almost no planning. You’ll be able to ride everything you want multiple times, see whatever shows you want, and have plenty of time to wander around and explore the details.

I do suggest that you visit each HP land at least once at park open/during early entry if available to walk around and enjoy it. First thing in the morning most people are rushing to the rides. You can usually walk right up to the spell locations and do them without having to wait. Since you’ve never been, it would be a lot more fun to do the spells without knowing what’s going to happen. It’ll be easier to get pictures and just generally enjoy the area. Also be sure to visit both HP areas after sunset as they look nice at night. Visiting at sunset can result in some beautiful photos.

If you all are huge HP fans and want to see everything, you do need to do standby on Forbidden Journey once. Express skips the greenhouse, a statue, house points vials, and the entrance to Dumledore’s office.

Also try to go through Mummy and Men in Black and Spider-Man once without EP in standby as well if waits are low. There’s a lot of story told there that’s misses with EP.
Don’t forget to go into Knockturn Alley when you visit Diagonal Alley. It’s rarely crowded as I don’t think lots of people even realize it’s there. And ride Hogwarts express both ways. Enjoy your trip!
