This is our 3rd time to VV. But this time we have a 2 bedroom (both sides of the condo) We don't even NEED it, but we got sucha great rate. I wish I knew someone who needed the other half for super cheap.

Anyway, we are happy. We have liked VV every time we have gone so far. The accomodations are nice. The staff is not pushy with sales stuff and the pools are clean.

My only problem with VV is that there isn't high speed internet in the rooms. But they don't charge for local calls so I can deal with dial up for a week.

The staff there drove us nuts! My husband had no clue to begin with that the guy hopped up on caffeine wasn't just being nice and offering us a free breakfast! :rotfl:

Really?

They made it quite clear to us that this was a sales presentation. We did it once and got the $80 for sitting through it. We won't do it again.

Well, that could be.

Funny thing is, the first time we went, we weren't even offered the free breakfast/sales pitch thing! The second time we were and we took it.

I suppose that it just depends on who is working the counter.

Just to make sure, I don't mean the person was rude, or a shark. Just very insistent that it would be ridiculous to miss a FREE breakfast! He never became mean or anything, like I've heard some do.

Ah, I see.

where did you get your 2 bedroom at VV at parkway

they are a rare bird lately since they can rent out both sides by splitting them up....

Yes, we have always gotten the smaller of the 2 sides off of SkyAuction.com. This one I found on ebay.

I know this is an old thread....but I just wanted to follow up and say that we had a fabulous stay at VV once again and if they keep offerering the deals they are offering (through SkyAuction.com or an ebay travel RC points seller) we will keep staying there.

NO pressure at all to do the b-fast and tour. And we were left alone the entire stay.

I will say the only time we were NOT left alone was when we went and were there for Hurricane Rita. We were glad to be bothered with updates on keeping our patio furniture in and the plan for what to do if the electricity were to have gone out!

Glad you liked your stay...

We have stayed there once in 2003, 2004 (with wenabre and Katdb from the DIS)and 2005...We now have a 2 bedroom booked through Skyauction.com for 22-29th of October. We have friends joining us for that week and love the 2 of everything...That way we have our own space.

We took the tour once for $50 and it was ok but I don;t think we will do it again. We did it on our first trip and wanted to see how much they went for.

The only complaint my DH has is that the pool does not get much sun because of the height of the building.

I LOVE IT!!!

Which building were you in? Did you have a washer/dryer?

Welcome back! :thumbsup2

Well, I know this last time we stayed in building 6, last time we were in building 2 and I don't remember the other one.

The first stay (smaller side of the apt.) we had a washer/dryer. Then the 2nd time we got a smaller side as well but there was no washer/dryer. However, there was a laundry room very close to the room and no coins needed. A little more hassle, but not a huge deal.

The 3rd time we got a 2 bedroom and BOTH sides had a washer/dryer!

About the pool. I found it a bit cold....but for the price, it is a small inconvenience!

Paid $242 first week
$225 second time
$299 third time (but it was for both sides)

That included tax so overall very cheap compared to local hotels.

Dawn,

I will be checking into Vacation Village tomorrow and was wondering what dial up service you used while you were there. At home I use DSL but can use prodigy away if I have to. Do you by any chance know how I would go about getting the phone number I am going to use? Thank you.

Well, I don't know what dial up service you have. I have aol and you just click on "new location" and it asks you for your area code. Once you do that it lists nearby cities and phone numbers for dial up service. You click on which one you want and it dials it for you (and I think I had to set it to dial 9 first too.)

If you can't get it I would use my cell to call your service and ask them what to do.

They do have a computer center with 3 high speed computers but there is sometimes a wait for them.

Oh, and FYI to those of you with more than 2 children.

I asked the VV front desk what we would need to do if we had more than 4 in a one bedroom place and they said that as long as the 3rd child was small they wouldn't care too much.

I don't really know how they would know anyway.....if you don't take everyone into the lobby they never check up on you, but it is good to know.

am not certain but i think local calls are OK.....but they have so many different "telephone "exchange companies there that even if you were calling a place next "door" you would be charged since it was a different provider....

best would be to call the resort front desk....to see what exchange they have free calls to...

Lawgs,

Thanks for the advise. I will check with the front desk to see the best way to go about using dial up.

Also, Dawn, the information you provided about having more than four in the room is really good to know. I wonder if this would be the same for other timeshares as well.

We are going back in April and will have two adults and three children. All three children will be 6 and I really don't want to get a two bedroom if I don't have to.
