Looks like the kids got along really well. It sounds like you made the best of your weekend even with the car trouble. The pics turned out very cute! :goodvibes
the kids got along great...Ashton really liked being with both Lindsey and Josie
What a great family trip...and what an amazing mall!!! Beats the heck out of Lakeside :lmao:
Lakeside is a great mall (for what we need in our family) but you are correct this mall certainly puts Lakeside to shame!! it is an awesome entertainment complex

What a fun weekend! Great pics of the kids.
yes, although we did not get to fit much in we did fit the important thing in!

hey connie! Thank you for sharing your pics!!I LOVE that pic of the kids holding hands! sooo cute!
aren't they just too sweet!

Great photos, Connie! I agree with you- my favorite is of the kids holding hands, too. :) So cute!!!
:cutie:
Awww, it looks like you guys had a fun trip! Minus the car troubles, that is. :goodvibes I'm also in agreement that the holding hands picture is adorable! :lovestruc
:cloud9:

You know I can sympathize with you on the car troubles (just think back to our Hot Springs trip and the nail in the tire ). Yay! for getting the truck fixed and back up and running.

The pictures are so cute. It's great that everybody got along so well.

when the car problems started I remembered your story and Dana's

Great pictures Connie! Your little guy is getting so big!!

Car troubles are no fun....it's a good thing for good DISfriends! :disrocks:

most of the day today has been spent researching (on and off again--in between playing w/Ashton)

I have decided that we are only going to sleep at RPR one night! we can still use the express feature both days and leave our cars parked in their lot until closing...

so, now I am trying to figure out a semi cheap place to stay close to Seaworld and plan a day (Saturday) at Seaworld. (I know this is going to be our last trip to the area for a number of years and I have been wanting to go to Seaworld since our 2001 trip). The tickets are $68.95(this is the child's price good for kids and adults) a day if you purchase them on line (they are also good for two days).

my thought is this stay a night close to seaworld and than when we leave Seaworld drive about 4 hours and stop for the night. This would leave us with about 4.5 hrs to drive home on Sunday (I don't think that would be so bad on Danny for Monday--back at work {he wanted me to plan to be home on Sat so he can rest from the ride on Sunday-the long rides are really hard on his hip).

So, what do you guys think...am I trying to really cram in too much and should just forget about SW?!?:confused3

As long as you think you can get 4 hours of driving in before crashing for the night--I would say go for it. You don't want Danny to be too tired for Monday. Given that you are fairly certain that this is going to the last trip in the area for awhile, I would say go for it!! :thumbsup2

Hey- on SW- we were planning to go as well, but decided to not cram in into our trip. Instead, we are going to plan a little trip to the SW in San Antonio- just an idea. But if that won't work, I think I'd go for it as SW is cool!

Love the pix!! I especially love the one of you in the side view mirror taking a picture......:lmao:. I think Ashton is such a cutie pie and the picture of him and Josie holding hands is adorable :lovestruc.

Great pictures. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun together. Ashton and Josie and so cute holding hands.

As for seaworld. If you think this is your last chance I would say go for at as long as Danny thinks it's a good idea.

Cute pics Connie! If you think Danny can manage and you can split the drive as you expect I think you should go. Ashton will probably get a huge kick out of it at his age. :goodvibes Lindsey loved it when she was 3.

We are going on the 24 too!!!!!! We are leaving on the 4 to go home! Yes, indeed the days are flying now! We love counting down! We are staying at the WL from the 24 to the 1 and the POP from the 1 to the 4!!!!! This will be our longest stay!:goodvibes

You have a beautiful family!:)

I am all about saving some money and taking it easy lately so IMHO I would pass on Sea World- that way Danny can get his Sunday to rest before going back to work. We want him to leave this trip on a good note... so that he will be ok with you planning your next trip when you guys get back!! ;)

Thanks! guys for all your thoughts on SW...we still have not made a decision and probably won't until alot closer...
Danny said he would prefer to skip it; I told him I would prefer to skip US/IOA and we all know that is not going to happen...so, I may just have to plan a trip to San Antonio like Brandi suggested (we tried that once and it did not happen) or plan a trip to SW for just Ashton and I--that would be fun!

We've been to Sea World in Orlando twice and it was absolutely awesome. It seemed much calmer than the other parks. I don't know if they still do it or not but they used to have Coke (or maybe it was Pepsi) cans that gave you $5.00 off a ticket. You simply took the can with you to Sea World and they knocked $5.00 off each ticket. That's been several years ago so I don't know if they still do it.

We thought about adding a Sea World day to our upcoming trip simply because my Mama has never seen a whale. It's been a long time since Hunter has seen one too.

I knew you or Lisa would comment on the mirror shot :lmao:
Thank you for the sweet words about Ashton...I am partial and think he is a cutie too. But, I tell you he hit this new bad child attitude about a month ago and is driving me "nuts"...Gwendolyn asked what happened to terrible two's ...I told her
"TERRIFIC TWO'S "
"TERRIFYING THREES":scared1:
"FEARSOME FOURS::scared1::scared1:
AND "FABULOUS FIVES":cutie:

:welcome: and :thanks: for the kind words...we will just miss you at the POP! hope to see you there...I plan to mark my bag but have not decided yet...so, stay tuned to see what I decide to see if we run into one another :mickeyjum

if you buy the ticket on line ahead of time it is $10 off....
the gate price is $78.95 adult, $68.95 child
online purchase $68.95 adult or child and it is good for two days

I'm sure your mom and Hunter will really enjoy SW...I know Ashton and I will if we ever get there:rotfl2:

:yay:ONE STEP CLOSER!
JUST PURCHASED OUR US/IOA TICKETS AND DAYNE'S FRIEND HIS WDW 5 DAY HOPPER! :yay:
tomorrow I plan to call WDW and pay off our room and Dayne's room...than we will be all paid up until we get there (Joe has to purchase our tickets)

I need to start going through Ashton's clothes to start the packing!!!!
I wonder if I should bring along pants for him just in case it's cool...
I also need to start my shopping list of last minute buys;
like Ashton's pedisures, pullups (uugghh--yes we still need those),
moleskin (a must this year), sunscreen (bought some yesterday but I would like another can),
rain ponchos! I hope we don't need these
ziplock bags (quart & galloon)
think I have everything else...

Wow! So jealous of the park hopper :thumbsup2 Also, I love shopping for trips, don't you? There is something so satisfying about buying ziplock bags :rotfl2:

So glad you were able to get your US/IOA tickets bought and paying off the room the tomorrow. It has come so quickly since you settled on those dates. Love last minute shopping lists!! I want to start working on packing lists, last minute shopping lists, etc. to get them put in my binder. :goodvibes

Well, I think tomorrow night we are going to have a family viewing of the Princess and the Frog... I was going to cook a seafood gumbo (still might=I like gumbo when it is cold it is suppose to be almost 80 tomorrow and than in the 50's Sat) or something with seafood(I have been wanting boiled shrimp-so we may have that) just don't know what yet; and we are going to have beignets...Danny wants me to try putting honey on them like in the movie (they don't add honey to them at Cafe du Monde or Morning Call; so, we have never had them like that) I think I may do just his that way and try his first :rolleyes1...
Saturday night Handy Manny's race movie is showing so I thought I would do turkey sliders, just not sure what else?!?

BTW: I have read a few of you make mention of PandF night if you would like the cheaters version of beignets it is very simple
by the plain biscuits in a can, roll it flat, cut in half and fry it will puff up very quickly when golden flip, remove place on drianing towels and dust w/powdered suger
it taste very very close to the orginial ...good luck!

I was planning a Princess and the Frog family viewing myself! The in-laws have not seen it yet. I pre ordered at Disney Store and got the P&F pictures, digital download, blue ray and regular DVD. Did you pre order too?

Great recipe! I know what you mean, Chris and I were a little confused about the honey. I guess it was something they did back then?? So happy it will be cold on Sat :cool1:

I think it is just her version; when watching the movie listen how they all gush over her beignets... I think it is just her touch...Cafe du monde uses the same receipe since it opened...but, it is french so maybe it started out that way in France. Who knows where they came up with that one! It reminded me of the mexican version...

No, I picked it up at Target. I was going to order it from DMC but just decided to hit target on release day (it is cheaper; the first week)...I didn't think I needed the prints...I use to do that for Gwendolyn, but, I think it may be pushing it for Ashton :lmao:
