Desiree?? :confused3
not familiar with her??

but, that is good to hear about the crowds; now I can't wait for your weather report and resort report

I figured it had to be pretty slow; although GA will have its first fall break very shortly; the kids get a week off of school after their first 6/9 weeks (whichever plan they follow) I wonder do other states also do this? LA doesn't (at least not around here)

Now maybe I can keep my babysitting money!!!!

OFFICIAL - New Fantasyland Rumour is TRUE!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The rumour that Fantasyland is getting a massive makeover, complete with Twin Dumbo's, Little Mermaid Ride, and a host of other things is TRUE.

It has just been announced at the D23 Expo by head of Imagineering Jay Rasulo

***I COPIED THIS FROM ANOTHER THREAD!!***

WOW! I'm glad the Fantasyland rumors were true BUT I have to say that although it all sounds really cool, it all sounds REALLY GIRLY too. And I'm kind of disappointed that they're going to put that much work and money into something that my boys probably won't care anything about. Especially by 2012 when they will be 10 and 7. With that much "princess" around, we might just have to avoid Fantasyland all together. I do see some boys in the pictures and I heard the word "knight" a couple of times, but it just seems REALLY REALLY girly. Just like that contest they are having right now. Nothing we can do, though, right? And it does look pretty cool.

:cool1: on Dayne getting a job. Especially such a good one!:woohoo:

I hope you get to go in late January if that's when you really want to go. I know it's going to be hard to wait until November.

I know there was something else I was going to respond to, but I'm really tired tonight for some reason. Hope the rest of your weekend is good!

yay for Dayne. yay for you.

Our day has been good. We just got to the motel. We are having breakfast at 8.30 then going to Don's brothers and his folks. His dad is not doingwell
and has Hospice 3 times a week. I am doing this on
my iPod. Thank goodness for wifi. No phone service

Yes, I think it is geared toward the girls also! just like the contest. What I don't understand if why they only gear the Pirates toward the boys...they have Tarzan, Bolt, Pinocchio (sp),and many others that they could gear toward boys...maybe they will with AK one day!!! I could think of a lot of things that they could do and I know you could probably do the same.

I know there was something else I was going to respond to, but I'm really tired tonight for some reason. Hope the rest of your weekend is good!

You have a great rest of the weekend!! too!
still raining here!

OK I jotted over here to see the new fantasyland stuff. How awesome. The only bad thing is it won;t be ready till 2012. Claire will be basically 8 or 9 then. I know we will all love it, and I surely hope she isn't out of her princess love stage by then. She watched the youtube video with me though and seems excited. LOL!
The ohter link didn't work though.

Good afternoon Connie. How has your day been. We are home and I am so tired. We will go to Sheri's for dinner. I'm glad I don't have to cook and clean up. I actually had a good time at Don's reunion. It's a shocker I know. He actually has a few cousins that I have always liked and they were there this year.

I am glad to be home tho.
Hope my little prince has had a good day

Hey! Ginny,
I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed yourself this year at the reunion! :yay:I am sure that helped Don enjoy himself, too!

We did not do a thing! this weekend:sad:...the rain has been relentless, it is suppose to be ending soon. We went run get Danny some chest congestion meds (if he would stop smoking/he is blaming it on the Humeria injections :confused3 ). Poor DS3 did not want to come home; he wanted to go to the park or the water park; anywhere but momma's house (it is soooo funny--he tells Danny it is momma's house and momma's car!)

Trying to find Halloween :hmghost: things to do! we do not trick or treat where we live (the houses are to far and few in between). We use to go where we lived before here; but have decided not this year. We started taking DS3 to Boo at the Zoo over in Baton Rouge two years ago; but, we think he may be old enough to enjoy the one in NO this year. Thinking maybe the camp grounds out here (it is so country that they have about four campgrounds out this way) might be the ticket! I wish the state parks would do something :confused3

I watched the Saints game and played on the computer again today! I need to find something to do with myself....this is getting bad even for me! I think tomorrow if the weather clears up I'm going to take DS3 to the mall in BR; they have an indoor palyground and horse carousel! that may be different.

Well, later:wave2:

WOW a new expansion. Boy, Fantasyland is going to be a big mess while they get all that work done. I have to agree with Lisa too, why all Princess stuff? They need to do something for the boys. Dallas will totally be out of all that by then because he will be 14 in 2012 so I guess it wouldn't really matter if they did boy stuff or not :confused3. But, hey one day I do hope to have grandkids :rolleyes1:scared1:.

Congrats to Dayne again on the job :thumbsup2. In today's job market he is really blessed that he found something.

I mentioned Desiree in one of my posts, she is deslynnpatterson here on the Dis. She is on my FB page too. She has been posting pictures and updates about her trip. She says the crowds are low......I sure hope it is that way in 2 weeks.

here's the disboards new link on the FL update and Star Wars update!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/news/General_Disney_News/Major_Theme_Park_Updates_Announced.htm

I wish they would think about it and add Peter Pan to the new Fairies new place; it would be awesome to have Captain Hooks ship or Peter Pan's hide out there too!

There is soooo much they could incorporate into it for boys if they just give it a shot!
I checked out Desirree on you FB and didn't not see the pics I'll need to check it out again!

Well I like that they are finally going to update Star Tours. Too bad THAT'S not going to happen in the next, uh, 4 days.

I think it's lame to say that the "villians" will attract the boys, though I do have to admit, my boys tend to like the villians. Still seems like a cop-out though.

I'm sad to see Toontown closing. I mean it's not the worst thing in the "World" they could do, but still sad.

Hopefully it will turn out better for our boys than it sounds. Even if mine will be 7 and 10 by then. :)

The expansion plans sound like they will be absolutely amazing, too bad my girls will no longer have much interest in that when it's built :guilty: My youngest will be 9!

I just wonder what that means for us visitors during the process. Will Fantasyland be a mess, will there be a few rides still going over there?

I agree that they should do something for the boys. I thought that maybe Disney had finally picked up on the need when they opened the Pirate's League makeovers. If they ever do finally decide to add more for the boys, Hunter will be too old to really enjoy it.

I read that there would be minimal guest interruption (or a huge construction mess) in Fantasyland. Disney has always been pretty good at that kind of stuff.

Although I agree that there could be more special things for boys.....my 3 never seem to have trouble finding things to keep them occupied! :thumbsup2

And didn't they say something about training to be a knight in the Cinderella area? Maybe there will be things for the boys that we just haven't heard about yet.

Now I just need a little girl to take so I can do all the fun princess stuff!! princess:

Will someone please give me some grandchildren so I can go? Mine won't even let me near toontown or the fairies.

Good morning Connie. Hope you are having a grand day. It is supposed to rain thru Thursday this week. Give my prince a hug and a kiss please.

Ginny

Oh I didn't hear about the knight training. Maybe I need to go back and re-read.

And, I have to agree, Hunter has never had a problem finding stuff he likes to do at Disney.

I won't give you any grandchildren but I would visit Toontown and the fairies with you.

That would work. We can pretend we have to scout it out for little one's to be sure it's safe. Then parents of young children in there won't think we are stalking.
