For the room upcharge, I would guess you could go to the front desk and add your 5th boy to the room on his arrival day, for the night or nights he's present, instead of paying for every night. However, if you don't book 5 people in the room to begin with, then you no longer have the 5 people in the room to start with that you were counting on to guarantee you get a couch. Not sure if that will be a problem.
I'm pretty sure the room keys at the hotels are printed with the guests' names, so if you left a son off the reservation, you'd be giving your youngest son's key to one of your oldest sons to use to get in (if they need to use it), unless you don't book your youngest into the room at all.
If you get groceries delivered and feel like bringing your lunch into the parks, Tom Sawyer's Island can be a great place to eat. I used to think eating the food sold at Disneyland was a big part of the whole experience, but I went with my friend and her mom, and they were watching their budget. One of my favorite meals at Disneyland was just eating cherries and chips they'd brought in on Tom Sawyer's Island. My friend's mom chatted with a CM on the island who took care of the ducks!
