Craig has a tag that says he is a Pirate who was born 200 years to late. I think we are Pirates after all.

We gather in a magic land and we party, we eat like Kings and we take home the plunder that we earned litterally with our sweat and blood.

In our "Other" identies we are Doctors and Lawyers and Indian Chiefs but when we gather for our raids we shed the clothes and manerisms of the civilized world and become "Athletes". The parks ring with our laughter and the roads are stained with our tears.

Most of us are not fashion models or movie stars but we shine with a beauty that comes from an untamed spirit. Did any of the rest of you take a good look at some of the spectators during last weekends races. There were some who looked at us as though we represented a wild freedom, an escape from the boredom they face in their lives. Kinda like a cow must look at a wild horse.

We wear our bright WISH gear so we will know our own. When the race gets tough we draw strength from each other. Those shirts are made with Pixey dust and the magic of that shirt has helped many a WISH Warrior go the distance. The cheers and screams of our brothers and sisters give us a boost on every road as we take care of business.

But when our battle begins we are strong and brave, we are prepared to give our all. Sometimes we win and sometimes we fall but we can hold our heads high that we fought till there was nothing left.

My pirate princess and I can't wait till we can set sail again for the land of magic and high adventure.

Anyone else long to set sail again?

Pirate Pandapirate: "YARC"

The colder it gets here in Kentucky the more I want to set sail for the land of magic and pixey dust.

Well I can dream and plot my course for the Tower of Terror adventure and reunion with my mates.:cloud9:

Oh my, the days of high adventure, lots of cold beer and pretty princesses everywhere. Guess I better get a lottery ticket this week, hey it could happen.

Pirate Pandapirate:

After I told my husband I wanted to go back for the Minnie in May, he said, "Wait, we went in July for a week, nearly two weeks in August, a weekend in December, and you want to go in May, when we have a trip in July again?"

"Plus the marathon weekend in January."

"So you want to go in May, July, December, and January in the next year?"

"I hadn't thought about December, but you left out October for the Tower of Terror 13k...."

:rotfl:

I, too, need to buy a lottery ticket, I suspect....

My DH has grounded me for awhile from the happiest place so I am going to live vicariously through the other WISHers on the boards. I will, however, try to find my WISH mates here in NE to participate in the local races!!!

Darn you Panda!!! You've made me cry! :sad1:

I miss you all so much. Those shirts are most definitely made out of pixie dust. Seeing other members on the course and those helping us along the course. I truely gathered strength from each and everyone. Just when I was feeling lost there was THE shirt, the only shirt that mattered.

This team rocks and RUNS the world :grouphug:

DH is reminding me that the Minnie is just around the corner and I can then be 'home' again with my team.

Miss you and know that the medal around my neck was placed there and IS there because of this team. The belief and support we have in each other truly does allow us to RUN the world and see dreams come true.

Ok that's it, gotta go again or my computer will become water logged.

Diane, I just skimmed it the first time - came back, and *sniff...

but oh so true!!! So glad to be a member - so glad I found the spirit of the YARC!!

I keep thinking I failed myself ( by not finishing with a chip time) but then I read stuff like this, and I'm ok again!!

Thanks!!

Sandy: YOU DID NOT FAIL! Read the back of the t-shirt, darling......YOU ARE A WINNER!
I for one, remember you very clearly cheering wildly in MK and your support meant all the world to me. You are amazing!

Dave: loved the Pirate analogy....very touching! We are all such special people and it is awe-inspiring to realize what we accomplish collectively. WISH team rocks!
