We are BMW OWNERS!!! My really DREAM car, 2003, in Black! I am SOOOOO thrilled! The whole deal took about 2 hours, and the lot has an Electron Blue Corvette, and we have a Pearl Black BMW! It is really comfortable to ride and drive.

Poohbear, congratulations! I think TSF meant that black paint is affected by the bright sun so you need to make sure you keep it protected, that along with a black car really holds in the heat. Enjoy your new "toy"!

OH, I thought he meant something else. Well, right now Black is OK, as it is getting cooler here these days. We park it under the $2,000.00 roof my DH had installed for the Corvette.

The heat it would generate out in the sun would be almost unbearable (I'd probably still get black since it looks best), but the salt water residue and sun will likely cause swwirls that just kill the paint /look of black cars. Especially if it is clearcoated....just as a point black cars should never be clearcoated. It was more for the cleaning/polishing nightmare you will have ahead of yourself, but I have black and when it's clean there's nothing like it.

Oooh Congrats! I went from BMW to Jetta and now to 4 Runner in the last year and let me tell you nothing beats the BMW DH has his and I want mine back!! LOL
