Hi everyone!
I will try to write more when I get a chance -- tons of laundry to do!!!
EB and I just got back this afternoon. The cruise was absolutely fantastic! On Saturday after debarkation, we checked into Saratoga Springs for the night. We first stopped at Epcot for lunch, then over to Magic Kingdom for a few attractions and the parade, and then we ended the night with Fantasmic. I have no idea how I managed to keep up the energy for it all at 18 weeks pregnant!
We were in Cat. 9 stateroom 2052. We really enjoyed this stateroom. It was quiet, conveniently located, and roomy. We've cruised twice in Cat. 5 and once in Cat. 8 -- the 9 was very nice. Some highlights off the top of my head:
* => The weather was absolutely beautiful and warm and the seas were calm.
* => We got to see Hercules once and two times each for Golden Mickeys and Disney Dreams (matinee and regular showtime). Goodness...we both teared up during all three shows. The music really gets to me! I love the stage shows!!!
* => Dinner with Hazel and Andy was so much fun! It's great to meet people you have so much in common with (DISNEY CRUISE OBSESSION! LOL
) They are such sweethearts!
* => After three other cruises we finally went to Palo for the first time. We had brunch on Friday (sat a table away from Carol and her husband, Ned, and her Mom) and dinner on Friday, as well. Anne Marie was our server and she was as sweet as can be. I can't believe we waited this long to go to Palo!
* => Castway Cay was awesome! We hung out at the family beach this time (first time here...we usually go to Serenity Bay). With a baby on the way, we wanted to get some experience with this beach for our next cruise.
* => EB and I said before the trip that we wanted to spend time on Deck 4 both lounging in the comfy chairs and walking and we did plenty of both.
* => Meeting fellow DISrs and other DVC members was great! It really helped to make the trip special.
* => Our car rental with Budget both before and after the cruise was great. We rented economy but got compact. Both vehicles were spotless and the service at both MCO and Cape Canaveral were phenomenal.
* => The Art of Entertaining series was fun! We did the dessert and napkin folding sessions. So glad we finally got a chance to do these.
* => Pirates in the Caribbean night and the fireworks were so awesome!
Gosh, I'm sure I'll think of more...but it has been great reading Andy's thread. He told me about it, but I vowed to not get on the internet during the cruise this time.
Actually, I promised EB I wouldn't. I am on the internet morning, noon and night otherwise!!! LOL
Take care,
Melody and EB
