November already!! Where has 2010 gone? This is the busiest time of the year for my family, with birthdays and the holidays. And its dark and cold here more and more, so getting out to run is even harder.

But I am committed to doing better, especially with my weight loss. This month will be really hard with that, as DD and I have our joint birthday the week before Thanksgiving. 3 seperate celebrations are planned since its a BIG birthday for me ( I will be 29 for the 11th time :lmao:) and Harry Potter opens the weekend of our birthday so DD is having a movie party. And we will go out as a family on our actual birthday. So there is a lot of eating going on before Thanksgiving, which is my favoritest holiday of all. I will be running the Turkey Trot with DD and FIL, which will help me burn off some of thanksgiving dinner.

I hope everyone who is training for WDW and Princess is doing well. I may or may not run a half on new years day, then after that I am still looking for something for the spring.

Keep on being INCREDIBLE my friends. I know many of you are busy but I hope you can pop in and let us know how you are doing.

Happy November teamies! And happy early birthday Vannessa! It sounds like you will be having a ton of fun celebrating.
I ran a 10m Pumpkin Run yesterday and extended it to be 15 for my training plan. It was a lot of fun and I got a nice pumpkin:). It was three weeks yesterday until the Women's Half in St Pete and I am super excited. I can't wait!!
My legs have been pretty sore lately so I am trying compression socks to see if I can get some relief. I ordered them from runningskirts.com so I just had to get a new skirt too. Especially since the new fall line just came out. I got a super cute blue argyle skirt. I think I will wear it for the half in three weeks:).
Well, just trying to stay loose today after my long miles yesterday. Spinning on the recombant bike right now and then home for a snack!
Hope you all have an INCREDIBLE day!

Happy November, Incredibles!!!!!

Where has the time gone? I feel like I was hardly here. I was without internet at home for about 3 weeks last month, and it drove me crazy. You would think my house would have been really clean, but it wasn't. My computer is slow, and I'm hoping it will hold out until black friday, and I'm hoping to score a bargain laptop.

I need to sit down this week and write out a training plan for the princess. I had slowed down on the running when I had foot pain a few weeks ago, took 3 full days off, and am building back up again. I did 5 miles last week, and it felt good, so now I want to start building up my mileage again. I am going to merge the Galloway and Bingham training plans, so I'll have 2 shorter runs, and one long run each week, with cross training 2 days. I'm going to try and get up to 12 miles before the half, depending on the winter here. My sister has a treadmill I could use, so we'll see what happens.

I haven't been doing too well in the weight loss dept, and want to try and step that up. No real excuses for the past month, just not tracking, some halloween candy incidents, and being lazy I guess. I only got 755 min of exercise, and usually do 1000, so this month I'll get to the 1000.

I'm doing an Earn your Turkey 5k on thanksgiving morning with ds this year!! I'm so excited, as it's the first time he's really shown an interest in the running. We walked/ran the route before we signed up so he would see it and then decide, and we finished in just under an hour taking our time, so he wants to do it, and is excited that is will be timed up to one hour, so he'll push to get an official time.

Veronica- Happy Birthday Month to you!! I love the 29 for the 11th time.:rotfl: DDs movie party sounds like fun. It is going to be hard to get out in the cold to run, but we can do it!!

Beth- Congrats on the 10miles plus 5 for 15!!!! That is awesome!! Have you run that far before? It sounds like you're plenty ready for the half in 3 weeks. A women's half sounds really nice. The first 5k I did was for women, and it was great.

Hope everyone else is doing Incredible!!

It's cold out, and I don't want to take my pajamas off to go run, but i must do it now. We had no school today for voting, so I took the day off. I also shouldn't spend the whole day on the dis, though my son wouldn't mind watching tv all day.:lmao:

Have a great day and week!!!

Are you using your threadkilling skills here, too? ;) Just kidding! I had some threadkilling in me today and I hope it doesn't linger here. :rotfl:

I think a 5K with on Thanksgiving is a great way to start your long week-end and I know that Michael will enjoy it! :goodvibes

Congratulations on the upcoming anniversary of your 29th birthday! :flower3:

And thanks for being our team captain -- you are INCREDIBLE!

Good job on the Pumpkin Run! :thumbsup2 How fun to get a pumpkin!

I'm getting in the Princess training mode, too. I've gone from an all time low last week of working out too much, making myself sick and crying wondering if I could ever do the Princess to walking 3.2 miles yesterday in 44:49.

I figured out if I do 8 loops around my office block that is 12.8 miles -- I did two loops yesterday for 3.2 miles. That means I just need to add six more loops between now and the end of February -- piece of cake! :cake:

I'm looking forward to being more active here as I train. :goodvibes

Happy Friday INCREDIBLES!!

This has been a good week for me-I have stayed on plan thus far with WW and have walked 2 miles every morning. I have been rewarded with 3 lbs lost so far, which is making me very happy. Tomorrow I am going to run outside and on Sunday we are going to the Y as a family.

I am trying to come up with some recipes that I can "makeover" to make healthier versions of some of our favorite things. I requested a WW cookbook from the library, so hopefully that helps me.

Lisa-8 loops around, no problem kiddo. You can do that in your sleep I bet!!

Kathy-sorry about your computer troubles. Its good to hear that your DS will be running with you. I think its great to get the kids involved and no matter how fast or slow you go, you are out there together!

Beth- congrats on the run! On the compression sock issue, my DH swears by them, he wore them on the plane to CA and all during the weekend, including the 5k. They can't hurt!

Keep up the good work ladies, its good to see you here!:flower3:

Veronica--What an exciting month for you! I hope this birthday is a great one for you!

Lisa--How perfect that you have a convenient place to run. You'll be adding those laps easily!

Beth--Hope the compression socks are helping. I am so impressed with your 15 mile run. I hope I will be there one day.

Kathy--I love the Earn Your Turkey race idea. I wanted to do a race on Thanksgiving, but we are getting a new puppy the Monday before Thanksgiving, so I thought I might need to simplify my schedule for that week as much as possible. I hope you have a great race!

I am super excited because I ran a 10K today. It was only the second time I have run 6.2 miles. The first time I did it in 1:16 something. Today, I finished in 1:09:25. I was pleased with this time b/c the course was REALLY hilly (the worst was a super steep incline at mile 4) and because I have been having knee issues. I think I have bursitis, but I am going to get it checked on Tuesday. My knee was bothering me the entire 6.2 miles, so I was proud of myself for toughing it out and finishing under my goal time. Of course, if I can't walk for the next week, I won't be proud of myself, I'll be calling myself stupid for doing the race at all! Anyway, this time qualifies me to say that I can finish the Princess in less than 2:45, so I was excited about that.

We have a lot of fun coming up: we leave for Disney on Friday, and when we return, we are bringing home our cute black and white Shih-Tzu/Bichon puppy that we have named Oreo. She'll be nine weeks old, so I am sure she'll keep me busy for the next few months! I am including a pic just because I am a proud mommy.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I finally got some down time so I found the link to the november boards. I think I might have missed the whole month of october.:headache: Life has been quite busy. I finally got the promotion I have been waiting for at work. Even though I was extremely disappointed with the raise I am still excited for the new challenges. Although it has kept me quite busy and very stressed.

This weekend was my oldest sons birthday parties. We are winding down with the last one today. We do a friends party and two family parties. We split our families up due to mine being so big. Our house gets so crowded.

I had taken 2 wks off from running due to the busy schedule and I was getting completely exhausted. I have been having trouble getting outside to run during the week too.

I did get back into it today with a 5 mile run. This cold weather is taken my challenge of running a half to a whole new level......and I thought the heat of the summer was bad.

My official training starts 11/22. I am following the MFM run/walk plan.

Veronica- I hope you and DD have a wonderful bday month
Beth- Great Job on the run!!!!
Lauren- The puppy is adorable. Great job on the 10K. I hope the knee is better soon. Have a great time next week at disney.
Lisa- You will be so ready for the princess. You are doing great. I am anxious to officially get started.
Kathy- The thanksgiving race sounds so fun. I am so glad michael has decided to do it with you.

I am also thinking of signing up for the turkey trot we have here on the saturday after thanksgiving. I am going to decide this week.

Take care everyone and have an incredible day.

Hello INCREDIBLE friends!!

Hope everyone is doing well. Things are busy here, and the eating is not going well. Today is my birhtday lunch for work, so I will use up the last of my flex points more than likely. But it forces me to be good for the rest of the week. Next week is not looking good either. And then its Thanksgiving. Ah the struggle of the holiday season.

Keeping up with my walking, hoping to get a good run in on Saturday. Weather is supposed to be nicer for the rest of the week so that is a plus.

Check in and let us know how you are doing!

Love this! Thank you fearless leader.
I am at the gym on my phone so personals are out, I will get on my computer later to do them this afternoon:).
I have been in a mini-taper of sorts this week in preperation for the women's half next weekend. I am feeling good and am definitly more rested but not feeling like I am backing off too much, so hopefully it will pay off with an awesome race. I am debating doing 10 or 12 this Sunday for my long run. I don't want to overdo it and be tired bit I also don't want to lose the great fitness I have been working so hard for. I won't be running more than 13.1 until the first weekend in December again when I am scheduled to run 20 in two weeks (so not going to happen three days after a turkey trot half which is three days after a hard raced half). I think that in reality those two miles are insignificant, and I should just stop worrying about it. Any advice?
On a related but different note, my plan for shoe replacement has been altered. I got my current shoes in June before I started the higher mileage for the goofy. Of I run about 100 miles a month, which is pretty close to what I do, I have about 500 miles in these shoes right now so I am at the edge of them being any good to me. I was planning on wearing them for two more weeks and replacing them the first week in December. Well, my knees started hurting this week while running which is my first sign that I need new shoes. Ugh. Now I am going to need to get new shoes today to try and get them at least a little broken in before the half next Sunday. One week to break in shoes, not the best situation, but the alternative is busting my knees and being setback a few weeks when I only have 8 before WDW marathon. Yuck!
I hope everyone has an Incredible weekend!

Beth-Hope your race goes well and you are able to break in the shoes!

We are leaving today for WDW!!!! I won't be running, but I'll get plenty of walking in. I hope everyone has an Incredible week!

Veronica- I hear ya on the eating front. Some days are better than others. Great job on getting the walking in.

Beth- Good luck on your running/races/training. You are an inspiration.

Lauren- :yay: Im so excited for you!!!! Have a great time in disney.

I have been on a bit of a roller coaster of eating the past month or so. Last week I did really well and lost another 2.6lb. This week I am maintaining and also dealing with TOM. Running at least once during the week for 20-30 minutes and getting the longer run in on the weekend. Usually 5 miles. I have one more week before my official training starts. I am going to print my calendar of runs. I think this will help me hold myself more accountable. The princess half is getting closer I cant slip now!!!!

Hi everyone! Happy November! It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Yikes! I'm not ready for the holiday season yet.

Veronica - happy birthday in advance! How nice to be able to share it with your daughter. Have fun at the Turkey Trot. Oh, and congrats on the weight loss!

Beth - I just did the Women's Half in Tempe, AZ last weekend. My friend, Cindy, and I had a blast. I love the medal and the charm within the medal. It really was a nice half to do. I hope you enjoy the St. Pete's run!

As for your training, others might have better suggestions but here's my 2 cents worth: definitely sounds like you need new shoes. I've often heard that's it good to have two pair handy and alternate them. I didn't do that before but I'm starting to now with the two I just ordered from Road Runner sports.

I trained for Goofy last year and I did several halves (halfs ?) as my training runs. If my LR called for 15 miles, I'd do a half and add in a few miles either right after the half or on a treadmill later that day. Of course, there were those times that I only did 13.1 miles but because I pushed it harder, I considered that good enough (if I was due 15 miles or so). Also, I really didn't taper between the halfs. Like I said, I just used the halfs as my LR training. I also didnt' push it hard for the races since they were my LRs. Are you doing any back-to-back runs (run on Friday, run on Sat.) or something similar or are you training as you would for a full?

Kathy - I know what you mean about slow computers. I'm using one now. I need a new one but there are some other things I need more so it will have to wait. *sigh* Good for you and your DS for doing a 5K on Thanksgiving. I wish we had something like that around here. Let us know how it goes.

Lisa - after a while, it does become easier. I can remember when I trained for my first half. Thought I would die. Then I trained for a full and the half didn't seem so bad. Then I got back out of shape and training for the half just kills me now. It's a vicious cycle. ;) You can do it, though! Pretty soon, it will become a piece of cake!

Lauren - congrats on the 10K and working through the pain! Great time! Hope you are having fun at WDW. Your little Oreo is so precious! I'm sure he'll be fun to have around.

Lindsay - it sounds like you are on your way to a successful Princess run! Congrats on your continuing weight loss! It does help to have your training plan printed out and in full view. The Princess will be here before you know it....and you'll be ready! :goodvibes

As for me, I've been busy with school and participating in events. I've come to the realization that although I'm only on my 23rd anniversary of being 29, I can no longer keep up with the younger generation. I'm sitting here typing on the computer but my knees hurt, my body hurts and I'm just tired. I've gone overboard in signing up for half-marathons. My trainer asked if I was addicted. I had to laugh at that because I'm really not; it's just that I get to see friends that I don't get to see often and we just happen to do it at a race. Does that make sense? (I didn't think so.)

Since Sept. 1, I've participated in 5 half-marathons and 3 cycling events. My latest was last weekend in Tempe, AZ (Women's Half). What a fun event. My next is the Space Coast in Cocoa Beach at the end of Nov. A week later, I'll be doing the Dallas White Rock. That will be it for this year! Whew! Next year, I'm cutting WAY BACK. My body just can't handle it any more. I'll be skipping WDW in January. Someday, I'd like to do the Princess but it won't be next year. I'll be cheering for all of ya'll from afar! :teeth:

Hope everyone's training continues to go well and injuries are held at a minimum! GO, INCREDIBLES, GO!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Great quote, Veronica! This applies to a lot of things in life -- not just running! :flower3:

Beth, I am so in awe of all that mileage! :worship: Good luck with your race! :thumbsup2

Lauren, have a wonderful time at WDW! :santa:

Lindsay, you are doing great and still running even when you are crazy busy! :flower3: It will be here before we know it! princess:

Susie, when I read all the races that you are doing I think it is rest of us who can't keep up with you! You are INCREDIBLE!

I'm excited to officially start my training for the Princess this week. I'm doing a combination of Bingham and Galloway adding in my office loops. That may have to be changed a bit if we have a lot of snow as is predicted this year. I'm still riding the roller coaster though -- wondering if I can do it, knowing that I can, being paralyzed with fear! :scared:

And for any of you INCREDIBLES that are alumni of Biggest Loser challenges, and even if you aren't, there will be a BL alumni thread from 12/17-12/31 for support between challenges for your weight loss or maintenance goals. I post the link when it is up. :santa:

"Being your best is not so much about overcoming the barriers other people place in front of you as it is about overcoming the barriers we place in front of ourselves." -Kieren Perkins
This is so true, and appropriate for those of us training for our first big race. We can do it. Just gotta keep on trying, and never give up.

Hello fellow INCREDIBLES!!! Like everyone else, busy time of year, with not enough time to dis lately. I officially started my princess training, and like Lisa, merged the galloway and bingham plans with a goal of reaching 12 miles 3 weeks before the princess. All up in the air with this thing called winter coming. If we have a snowy/icy winter, I think I'll join a gym as a trial 2-3 month membership to have a treadmill. I'm hoping to be able to train outside. I remember running in feb when I started and going out one morning when it was 20 degrees, so I know I can do that at least. I've been up and down with the same few pounds, and not really focused on healthy eating, but today, I started journalling my food again, and will do that for 8 days til next wedneday.

Lisa-I'm on the same roller coaster, and we are going to rock that princess!!! As long as we aren't both paralyzed with fear at the same time, we'll make a good team and we will be fine. Slow and steady weight loss, and slow and steady 13.1 miles!

Susie-I am exhausted just reading about all the race you have been doing. I know what you mean about not keeping up with the younger generation, but all we need to do is keep up with ourselves. I'm 29 for the 17th year, and am learning that I need to do the walk/run at this age and weight. My joints will not handle the straight running. Do you take walk breaks or do you just straight running? You must be so proud of all you have done, and you've been to some amazing places to race. Two more races, and then you will have your well deserved break. Hang in there.

Lindsay- Whoo hoo for the official training to start. I like to have the plan posted on the fridge for a daily reminder to move. I also like to see those little check boxes filled in as I do my training, and it motivates me to get out. You are going to be awesome at the princess.

BethHope you were able to get your new shoes and break them in. Good luck at the race this weekend!!

Lauren- Hope you had a fabulous vacation. Can't wait to hear all about it. Did you do a Christmas party, osborne lights? We were there last year veterans day week, and it was amazing, low crowds, minimal lines, a great time to go. Congrats on the cute new puppy.:cloud9:

Veronica- Hope you enjoying your birthday month!!party::bday:party:
It's a tough time to keep on track with food, let alone having a couple birthdays thrown in. Do the best you can, and enjoy yourself too.

Hope everyone is doing incredible!!

Another quote from FB for y'all.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I am not worried about 40, I think at this point in my life I am the most comfortable in my own skin as I have ever been. And I am not going to stress over the eating, as long as I don't go completely off the wagon them I will be okay. So I will celebrate and enjoy, for a few days, and then get right back to business.

Hello, everyone! The kids and I returned from Disney last night (Dad didn't get to go with us this time). We had a fabulous trip, but I am exhausted! I am catching up on laundry, groceries, etc... I am supposed to run 6 miles tomorrow morning according to my half-marathon training plan. I have a feeling that I will be a little sluggish after my Disney Dining Plan this week! I have been eating so healthy for the past six months, but that was out the window at Disney. I did do well by letting my kids have most of my snack credits (but I had to have my funnel cake at Sleepy Hollow, and I also indulged in a Zebra cupcake at AK). Of course, I ate enough during the meals to make up for the snacks. I hadn't had an Oreo in MONTHS, so the Mickey Mousse Oreos at Chef Mickey's (and cheese cake, and carrot cake, etc...) were too tempting to pass up.

I plan to blog about my trip, so I'll post a link here when I do. I am going to wait for my Photopass CD before I write.

I hope everyone had an Incredible week! I guess it's time for me to get back to "normal." I will say, however, that I am so excited to know I get to go back to WDW at the end of Feb for the Princess!

Glad you had a great trip to the World. It is so hard to be good food-wise while there, everything is so yummy! Good luck with your Princess training.

Well the race this weekend was awesome! I ended up running a 8:36 min/mile pace and finishing in 1:52.33!!!! A whole 3.5 minutes faster than I had hoped. The weather was perfect and the course was fun. Just loved running with a huge field of fabulous women. My SIL and I are thinking of making this race an annual trip, we had such a fun girls weekend:). Now I am back to focusing on Dopey in January. I am doing a 1/2 marathon turkey trot Thursday morning and then 12 Sunday with a plan to run 20 next Sunday but I am considering bumping that down to 16 or 18 to try to make sure I don't over do it. Not really sure I need two 20-milers, but still on the fence.
Like everyone else, I have a crazy-busy week this week, just hoping to get through it with the least amount of stress, ha!
Happy Thanksgiving fellow Incredible Teamies! Good luck in running and resisting SOME of the weight-loss killing treats.;)

Good morning everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed thanksgiving. I said yesterday I need to come on and wish my Incredible team a happy turkey day, but never made it.

I had a great day. We started with a 5k- Earn you turkey race. It was Michael's first race, and wed his friends mom called and said she and her son were going to do it too. It was so cold before the race, and michael and i just wore sweatshirts, and he had gloves, so we sat in the car til 5 min to the start. Her son insisted on wearing his down jacket, but ended up being fine. The boys ran together the whole time, and they sprinted right off ahead of us, and then Karen decided to run at her usual pace which so she went ahead of us. I was behind the boys and could see them ahead of me the whole time, and they'd turn around and look for me, and they they'd start running faster. I caught up with them at about the 2 mile mark, and said boo and they screamed and ran ahead, so from then on it was like a cat and mouse chase, though I'm not as good at sprinting to catch them as they are sprinting ahead of me, so they beat me. We all finished around 43 min. Not my fastest, but it was by far the funnest. I love seeing michael run and he was so proud of himself for beating me.:rotfl: I think we will make it a tradition, and my niece who came for dinner is 16 and said she'd like to do it with us next year.

So all in all, I did earn my turkey that I ate yesterday, but I don't know if 5k is enough to earn the pie and liquor I had along with it. :rotfl: We had thanksgiving dinner at our house for the first time, and there was only 7 of us, so it was really nice since our house is very small. I was happy with how dinner turned out, and I seemed to time everything so it was still pretty hot when it was served. We are heading to my brother's in western ma, about 2 hrs away this morning for a couple days. I'm due for a 6 mile run this weekend, so I'll bring my stuff and see if my brother might want to run tomorrow with me. Otherwise I'll do it sunday am.

Beth- Congrats on your race last weekend! Hope your turkey half was as much fun for you, and you did well. Now a half on thanksgiving will certainly earn you a few pieces of pie.

Lauren- I hope you had a good adjustment back to the real world. It's so hard to return from disney. I am also so excited to be going for the princess in feb. It's hard to believe it will be here before we know it. This month flies by til Christmas, so I think the time will fly. I'd love to see your trip blog. Do you have a running blog too? I've been googling princess half blogs and trying to imagine how much fun it will be.

Veronica- Hope you're having a fun birthday month, and had a wonderful thanksgiving.

I love this quote, and it is so true.
Before the race yesterday, michael was looking at the Dead last finish beats did not finish which trumps did not start sign we have on the fridge, and was pretty much saying, he'd do the best he can, and hoped to finish, but wouldn't be mad if he didn't. So cute.

Hello to everyone else!! Keep on running! Sending plenty of pixie dust for mild winters so we can continue to run and train outside.

Lisa- I hope that early snow you had isn't a sign of the rest of your winter.

Have a great weekend!! :)

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I meant to get over here yesterday, but was so busy I never made it.

DD and I ran the Troy Turkey Trot, field of over 6700:eek:. My girl is now a true runner-she threw up on herself! LOL. We finished in 48:34, did run/walk intervals. There were too many people, so we may try another local trot next year.

Dinner was awesome, DH does such an awesome job with the turkey. He soaks it in brine for almost 2 days, then cooks it on the grill, leaving my oven free for lots of other stuff. It was a good day with family too. After everyone left (about 5pm), DH, DD and I headed off to the movies to see Tangled. It was very funny and we really enjoyed it. Good job to Disney on their 50th animated movie!

DH and I got crazy this morning and did the Black Friday thing. We have never done this before, and I am not sure I need to do it again, but we did well with our purchases. We were at Target at 3:30am for 4am opening. We got stuff for DD and my niece there. Then off to Walmart, Michaels (got an artists desk for DD), Boscovs, ToysRUs and Kmart. Got almost all of my shopping done. AMEN! Bought a couple things online, just have to get a couple gift cards and we are finished!

No running for me today, but I am planning to get out tomorrow and Sunday for a couple good runs. We came home this morning at 6:45, ate breakfast and went back to bed! Plus it was raining something awful this morning. Now it is clear but very, very windy.

Keep being Incredible, and enjoy the holiday weekend.
