Ideas to focus on:
Fully immersive and interactive (hopefully 360 degree 4D) additions to some part of the great movie ride...possibly an after show attraction.
Create a fully operational 'mini' New York/Broadway with Theaters/Comedy clubs, bars, restaurants a hotel maybe. Located in the 'Streets of America' part of the Park (and/or extend outwards from there...the streets of NY that kind of thing). Think about the best World Showcase pavilions, but a million times better. This can be a part of the park that stays open into the night as a proper entertainment venue for WDW (for people staying at the hotel and guests paying a small admission fee. In the day time it can put on smaller attraction type shows for people in the park.
so that's the basic outline. Make it happen my fellow imagineers! Remember don't be limited by things like the bad economy or technological/logistical limitations. If Walt and Roy where, Snow White would never have been made and DisneyLand would never have been built!
Enjoy

P.S. and bring in ideas of your own, it'll be fantastic!

It's such a good idea, and the fact that they closed it because they couldn't keep it updated is sad. I think that's what's wrong with quite a few attractions; they're not kept up-to-date.
