We left Maine on Weds night about 8:15 and arrived here at Ft Wilderness on Friday at 2:00. Had a great trip down! No big problems.. tornado watches were out in VA but other than some extremely heavy rain for a few hours... we had great weather to travel. Our youngest traveler,5,asked every time we stopped.."where is Mickey Mouse?"

Ft Wilderness has changed alot since last time here but some for the better in my opinion. The grandkids love the water slide at the pool. It's fun driving the golfcart around and showing the kids where their mom stayed when she was their age. We always stayed in Cottontail Curl loop back then.

We are in site 219 and it's perfect for us. The motor home and a 10x14 tent fits perfect as well as plenty of room for eating, setting 8 chairs up etc. We have a short walk to the boat or bus and comfort station not far. The Halloween decorations are unbelievable at some of the sites! We wouldn't have had room to bring that many if I even had that many!! I think it's great though and love seeing them all walking around at night!!

Spent our first day at MK...back here for some swimming and relaxing.. then back to MK for some more fun. Only one incident, grandson's backbag got left behind at a store containing his brand new digital camera and his cell phone! We were very fortunate that someone had turned it in and picked it up at lost and found! :yay:

Would post a photo or 2 but my internet connection off phone is limited so will post some after getting home.

Sounds like you are having a great time, isn't it great to have grandkids to take to the fort??? Glad you had a safe trip down, those tornados have been plentiful this year. We are in NC and I can't believe the number of watches/warnings that we are getting.

Looks like you've got a great location for your site, the 100-200 loops are really convenient for getting to MK or for just hanging out at the trading post or Trails End area in the evening. Don't forget to head to the beach in the evening to see the fireworks.

Have a great trip and make sure you keep us posted!!!

We're probably right near you. We checked into 105 on Friday, over by all the Halloween decorations. We've got a big Lime Green Mickey on the front of the RV.

Heading out to Epcot in a bit for F&W Seminars, and then on to Raglan Road for dinner.

It'll be interesting to see what the weather does on Tuesday into Wed ... possibly a lot of rain. But we've got ponchos and won't let it slow us down

We were at Disney last Saturday/Sunday and we had some really bad downpours off and on. If you have ponchos you should do fine. Ours were truly lifesavers. We just put them on and went with the flow. Had a great time.

smacca1956 and Brocktoon,

Hope you both have great trips and safe drives home.

I'm looking forward to reading more of your trip posts.

Oh, and pictures please! popcorn::

PS-if someone would take a picture from the porch of the Meadow Trading Post looking back toward loop 900 and get the cypress trees with spanish moss in the shot, I would appreciate it. That's my favorite picture area at the Fort.

So happy your trip down was easy. Hope you have a great time, which I know you will. We will be there in 7 weeks! Can't wait. Hubby in the basement making our Mickey Lamp. Christmas at the fort can't wait.:santa: Looking forward to your pictures...

I know exactly where you are! The grandkids told me we needed a lighted mickey for the front of our RV like yours! We've walked by many times. Great decorations in that area! Will say hi if I see you outside!

As for fishing.... ummm not into fishing.. NASCAR yes... fishing not so much! LOL

We saw the fireworks and light parade on the lagoon last night. Was nice to see the light parade hasn't changed in all these years.. something to share with generations of kids.

We have friends coming to visit later today from Merritt Island. Looking forward to leaving Disney and going to dinner with them with no kids. I love the kids but....... well.. you know!

wait, you mean to tell me you are into NASCAR and not fishing ??? Don't those go hand in hand ?!?!?:confused3

Please don't tell me you don't like apple pie?

:lmao:

Glad your trip is going well. How is the weather?

The weather has been awesome so far but today is looking like huge downpours so we are heading to EPCOT for the day. Probably won't have Test track open but there's always tomorrow!!:grouphug:

Your dad stopped by to see us on Friday morning when we were packing up to come home! How nice it was to meet someone from the boards! Had a great time... working on some photos!

Yep, Friday was our last full day at the Fort, and was a bit of a late start for us. While I was still getting ready in the morning, he was taking a walk around. It was great that you folks were still around ... we saw the Pit Stop plates earlier in the week, but no one was there at the time. We were gone early most days, and out all day except for a few hours most times.

I've got a ton of laundry and food shopping to do before starting back at work tommorow, but I should be posting a small trip report with some pics later in the week.

What site were you at and did you like it? This is going to be:confused3 the 1st time in a full hook-up .Have always stayed in Premium? Anyone have any criticisms or suggestions. (going down again end of january w/another of the children and family)no ressies yet..waiting to see if we like full hook-up....:confused3

We were at a preferred site #219. We had plenty of room for our motor home and a 10x14 tent. There are some photos posted on another post. We didn't want premium because they are completely paved and we needed to set up the tent. It was a great time! The only problem we had was little tiny black ants. We will come prepared for them next time though! I wouldn't have anything but full hook up! Enjoy!:goodvibes
