Hey guys, I'm trying to get my fellow colleague, dance teacher and friend to let me do a Tim Burton set for her dance show.

I would love it if you guys could help me find the best pictures of Tim Burton movies you love. I want to work on silhouettes and such.

Oh I can help you with this! I love Tim Burton movies...especially the old school ones. I think my favorite is Edward Scissorhands. It really says something about the filmmaker and actors when you can sympathize to the point of tears in a movie about a guy who has scissors for hands!

Beetlejuice is another one of my favorites. This sandworm is so classic "Burton" to me. He's just got a style you can pick out! Love all the imagery in this movie, even the house.

And Pee Wee's Big Adventure!!!

This picture isn't from the movie but the dinos were. Aren't they soooo Chester and Hesters?! I have a feeling that part of dinoland was designed with this location in mind.

A little more recent, Sweeney Todd. Grrr, I can't find a picture but my two favorite images from that movie are both during Little Priest. One where they are twirling around together and he has his knife in one hand and she has a rolling pin in the other. Second, at the end of the song where are both looking out the window, smiling...again with the knife and rolling pin.

Ah, Burton! So fun! Thank you for giving me an excuse to take a break from the paper I'm supposed to be working on!

July 25 Sunny 100F

We were really tired that day. Well, I was mostly tired. I decided that I wanted to stay in today, and my parents followed suit.

I plugged in my portable DVD player and we watched "White Chicks". I always think it's a hilarious movie. It's such a stupid movie, but I laughed as much as usual.

We spent a relaxing day watching tv, reading, and ....... doing laundry. Yeah, we had to.

After lunch, I went to lie by the pool, and read. There was no available room in the shade, so I had to keep going in the pool to cool off. After a while, I decided that I was no longer interested in baking. So I went back to the room.

I tired to nap, but with no luck. At 5pm, we were on our way to Chef Mickey's. We were seated really quickly. We were sitting beside a big family. And the kid beside me wouldn't stay seated. Oh, forgot to say that I was sitting on the booth seat. So the kid kept hitting my with his feet as he would keep getting up and moving around on the bench.

And after a while, I noticed I was getting wet. Turns out the A/C was leaking on me. Overall, the meal was so so. We didn't take any pictures with the characters as we had another ressie later on in the trip. Plus, I was really not feeling like being photographed that day. The character interaction was alright. You get better interaction with a camera.

By the end of our meal (by the way, it seems they have changed the food selection from what we had last year. It was not as good), I was freezing and not feeling so good. Probably because of the sunburn. I was really glad our room was so close.

I went to bed early that night. No fireworks for me.

Monday July 26 Sunny and Cloudy Over 100F

On that day, we were supposed to go out, but it didn't happen. We ended up staying at the resort. I don't remember why.

We did some more laundry and lounged.

At around 4pm, my mom and I decided to go out to Downtown Disney. Before we left, we took a quick picture.

We went to World of Disney first. Then we ended up at Ghirardelli. Yum!!!! After that, I decided to go on the other side and see the new stores. I went into little Miss Match. I loved that store and those socks!! I wish they would have adult sizes! I also looked at D-Street.

After that, I came back to meet up with mom, and we went to Tren-D. I bought some pins at the pin store, and we got in line for the bus.

It was taking so long, and there were a few scooters waiting to get on.

We ended up taking a bus to the Grand Floridian.

It was the bus ride from hell, as a man said.

I don't exactly remember what happened, but I know it was bad. A lot of people, screaming kids, and screaming families.

When we got to the GF, we took the monorail to the Contemporary.

We were back at the resort at 8:30pm.

I read and watched the fireworks, and then went to bed.

July 27 - Sunny - 100F

That morning, I woke up at 8am.

I got ready and ate breakfast.

Today was our DHS day.

By 11am, we were in the park.

As soon as we got there, we browsed the stores. Then, we headed to Beauty and the Beast. My favorite show. Well one of my favorite shows. It's hard to decide lol I was so excited!! It was the same Gaston I saw in March. I think he is THE best! He's so into the role, plus doesn't need muscle padding hehe

I didn't get the best video since the kids in front kept jumping and moving around and standing on the bench. But oh well, I did get my fave Gaston of all time on video!

As we exited, I wanted to go and do the Great Movie Ride. As we got there, we saw that there was over 30 minutes wait. As much as I love that ride, I wasn't willing to wait that long.

So instead, we went to eat.

We stopped at the ABC Comissary. It was the first time we were eating there. It was very busy in that restaurant. Well, we were definetly eating at prime lunch time. But the food was good. We will be going back.

After that, we walked the streets of America. I love those sets and the attention to details.

We then went to the AFI store. I use to love that store because they had cool merch from ABC shows. But they don't anymore.

But I did end up receiving the Oscar for best Art teacher of all time.

Once I got over the emotion, we went to see the American Idol Experience. Yep, I do love that show.

Once the show ended, we grabbed some drinks and left.

We waited for a bus for soooooooooooooooooo long. People in front of us kept complaining. And we were on their side. By the time the bus arrived, the stop was packed. And so was the bus once everyone got in. But thankfully, we were the first stop.

Once back in the room, we relaxed in the A/C. Yep, the heat was getting intense. I managed to finish my Sookie Stackhouse book. I read it in about 3 days. That's when I told myself that I should have followed my intuition and brought the next one.

We went to the grab and go, and watched A League of Their Own.

I had bought a book about the Windows on Main Street, a few days earlier, and read that. After that, I went to the store downstairs and got a magazine. And after that, I went to see the concierge to get the movie schedule of the AMC theater. I wanted to go see a movie the next day.

As soon as the fireworks were done, I went to bed. We were planning on doing the next morning's EMH at AK.

I can see that most rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge have balconies, while Beach Club don't. Can someone confirm this?

I believe all rooms at AKL have a patio or balcony. Patio on the 1st floor, balconies on all the others. I didn't realize some of the BC rooms don't have balconies. I'm a balcony lover.

I am now working on a Ghostbusters project. Students (in teams of 2) will have to create an ad campaign for that company. So I am trying to find National Enquirer type of articles about ghosts but I need to find them in French.

What a cool project! I hope it pans out!

Love this picture!!!! And I think yours is the third or fourth positive review I've read lately of the ABC Commissary. Prior to that it was all AWFUL. Maybe they changed something - I'm glad to hear it! We'll have to give it a try.

I had the filet at Le Cellier and it was awesome... close to the best I ever had. So how does the Canada section compare to the real Canada? I've been to New Brunswick with my family when I was younger and stayed for a week snowboarding at Mt. Tremblant with friends. I'd love to go hang out in Montreal or Toronto.

Mont-Tremblant is not that far from here. Actually, we are doing an outing in a month wit the kids. It's lovely!

If you like Tennis, next year the men are playing in Montreal for the Rogers Cup.

The Canada section is a bit weird. It's mostly Vancouver though. Looks too rural hehe

I think it has to be a representative sampling. The America pavilion looks like Colonial Willaimasburg, VA. Which is great, because where I live, we have ALOT of buildings like that. In fact, University of Maryland where I attended college has dozens and dozens of colonial white columned buildings like that! So for me, the America pavilion looks like college. The funnel cake kiosk looks like the ticket booth at Mount Vernon, home of George Washington. So for me its home... but if you lived in Florida, Texas, anywhere in the west, not so much!

So you got a Mickey comic book and each student had to take a square from it and replicate it, like the one you posted? It looks like a very fun project!

July 28 - Around 100F

Today was our Extra magic hour morning at Animal Kingdom.

My dad and I were going to go by ourselves.

It was a bit hard getting up, but I did. And by 8am, we were in the park.

Like everyone, we headed straight to do the safari. Even though there were tons of people, we managed to get on in less than 5 minutes.

Once in the jeep, we had to wait a few minutes. An animal was blocking the way ahead and wouldn't move.

I managed to snap a few pictures, but it was hard. The couple beside us kept blocking me.

After the safari, we went to Pizzafari for breakfast. The breakfast there is nothing extroadinary. But I love the atmosphere. I think my dad got the breakfast platter that he shared a bit of, and I had a danish. We sat in one of the rooms, and guess what, we were the only ones there. Unbelievable right? Being alone in a restaurant in WDW. We were alone the entire time we ate. The only people that came in the room were the CMs. It was nice. We relaxed and waited a bit. Our next stop was going to be Festival of the Lion King. The first showing was at 10:30am and it was barely 9:30am.

At around 10am, we went to wait around the show area. And we soon were walking in. We were in the elephant section. It was new. We normally always were in the Giraffe section. My dad enjoyed being in this section as he likes the "leader".

After the show, we walked through almost the entire park to get to Dinoland. I wanted to see "Nemo". We got there for the 11h30 show and sat in the front section. Wow this theater can pack in a lot of people!

At first, my dad was like: oh no, you brought me to a puppet show??!!

But then, he really enjoyed it. He had the same fear I had. That the only thing you'd see is the puppeteers. But you soon forget about them.

After the show, we realized how tired we were. And how HOT it was.

By 1pm, we were back at the hotel.

We relaxed, ate and napped.

At night, my mom and I decided to go watch the fireworks on the 4th floor. I really liked it. It was so nice, and intimate in a way.

When we were walking back out of the observation deck, we were following the masses. Well you know the big rounds benches they have at the Contempo? Well turns out, the guy in front of us never saw it coming. He totally fell over it. And laid on top of it for a few seconds in shocks but quickly got up. My mom and I tried soooooooooooo hard not to laugh in his face. But it was hilarious. And the most frustrating thing is that.......I had my camera in hand. I just wasn't filming lol It would have been a great video. I should have reanacted it.

So my mom and I went to walk outside, and all of a sudden, we couldn't hold it in anymore. We laughed uncontrollably.

After we got over that, we got back to the room, prepared for bed and watched tv. Needless to say, we went to bed rather late that night.

Oh goodness, I just realized I left out one of my absolute favorite Burton movies: Sleepy Hollow!

It's actually on tv right now. We watch it every fall anyway so this is like a sneak preview. Such a beautiful looking movie.
