Well I couln't refuse this offer for $99 for a 2 BR so I did it. I actually talked DH into letting me do a girls weekend so far it is my twin sister and by best friend. We are waiting to see if one more friend is going to join us.

Now I know it is Dec so it probably won't be too hot (cold even?) So what do you suggest we do? Should we rent a car? What is around there? What if we just hung out at the resort? We are arriving about noon on a Friday and leaving about 4 on Sunday.

I am so terrified that I am going to be addicted to the 2br that I will not want to come back to a studio! LOL There will go all my points LOL.

BUMP.
Has anyone been to HH in December that can give me some ideas on what to expect or what to do?
What's the weather like? Will I need a car?Are there adulkt activities and tours we can do?

I took advantage of one of those same $99/night deals in 1998.
It was November, Veteran's Day weekend. It was too cold to swim, but pleasant for walking around and biking. We drove to HH, so we did have a car and I would recommend having one for you to get back and forth to the local restaurants and shopping.

As far as December, my brother has been there at Christmas and certainly the weather was better than Toledo, but a little chilly. I do recall that he said there were a lot of things closed in the off season. I don't golf, but the understand that's the place to go.

Thanks Rex!!! We are going to rent a car most likely. I am so excited about this! Dh is a little bummed but it is the first time I will have been away from my family ever. While I am going to miss them tremendously I have a feeling I will get over it LOL. Especially not having to worry about bedtime or who eats when and what. I will have a little slice of freedom for a little while :)

Definitely rent a car while you're there. There is LOTS of shopping on the island (fun boutiques and the like!) and some great outlets in Bluffton (between I-95 and Hilton Head Island). Also, you'll be glad to have the car to try out some of the great restaurants that are there.

The resort does have a tour of the island, but I don't know how often they will be doing it. If it's offered while you're there, I think that would be a great way to get a "feel" for what's there, and then you can always return to some of the places on your own if you'd like.

Aside from shopping, you can go to the Coastal Discovery Museum and the Harbourtown Lighthouse for extra little things to do.

Renting bikes might be another good option. The resort has them at a very reasonable price for your length of stay.

Have fun!
