We are getting evacuated off small world. Exciting!

Many, many years ago my mom, son & I were stuck on JIIWF. We were AP holders at the time & this was during a special event to unveil the ride. Well, it broke down & they left us there. We waited about 1/2 hour for someone to let us know what to do & then we decided to get off & find a way out on our own.

I’m an able bodied young guy and honestly that incline was daunting for me, so I can only imagine what it must be like for less able guests. Unfortunately we were in the first show scene so we didn’t see too much behind the scenes stuff, but interesting nonetheless
It must depend on location? We only walked a short distance and were directed into a staircase somewhere in the middle. The door at the bottom opened to the outside.

I would guess that, I think we were so close to the beginning that it only made sense to take us down the up ramp. I’m glad there’s a better method of evacuation than the way I went

That’s crazy. I would have done tons of “exploration” (and picture taking, haha).

We have been evacuated off the People Mover ride, Nemo, Winnie the Pooh, and seems like one more. We enjoy it but we aren't usually tied to much of a schedule so a little detour to our day is entertaining. The Nemo was the same song over and over and over and over. The People Mover has more difficult as we had to walk the tracks, watch out for the rail, etc. We have been given FP's each time this has happened. We know that everyone doesn't like this as there was many many unhappy guests that were complaining to the CM's. I felt bad for them as it isn't their fault!!

There are different doors depending on how far up the ride you are. There are three zones. Zone one is the easiest to evac people from. If you are anywhere near the top before the cars turn backwards there is a different door to go down. But the last zone is the hardest as you are going down backwards and need to walk the track

That sounds like a logistical nightmare (especially the last one you mentioned, that would really sketch me out getting out of a backwards facing car). Probably one of the worst rides to evac people I’d think

Evacuations are annoying but kind of cool. We’ve had to evacuate Spaceship Earth and the Matterhorn at Disneyland. Both were pretty cool! Wasn’t too bummed about missing SE because I’ve been on it a zillion times but I am sad that in my two trips to Disneyland, I haven’t had a successful full Matterhorn ride.

I had to evac Matterhorn at Disneyland as well, but luckily we were very close to the bottom and already out of the mountain. Since it was still an evac, we still had to wait to be escorted off the ride and got an anytime FP for the trouble, which we later used to bypass a massive line at Splash Mountain. We referred to Matterhorn as our BFF after that, since it was actually a helpful experience, not a hinderence!

Always interacting and will make for a good story!

How long were you stuck? How long until the CMs told you you'd be evacuated?

In the late 90s, I was at the very crest of the Splash Mountain drop in Disneyland, mere seconds from the plunge.... when the ride broke down. I was stuck there for 15 minutes or so, not sure whether or not the ride would start up again at any moment, before being evacuated.

I've still never successfully ridden Splash Mountain. Also, I'm afraid of heights now. :scared:

My husband and I were at Disneyland in September and the boat ahead of us was full of teenagers who apparently thought they could do anything. They were literally standing up in the boat the entire time, singing at the top of their lungs, filming themselves, etc. One put his hand in the water. Anyway, about 5 mins before the end of the ride we all get stopped, like 6 boats, for about 20 minutes. They turned off the music and made it seem like a ride malfunction, but when we came out the ride was completely cleared out and police were waiting. We got off and the teenagers in the boat ahead of us were pulled to the side by police and I assume 'lectured.' There were some Disney management there as well talking to them. Of course they all were in tears after this, claiming that they did nothing wrong. We just had to laugh, Disney is always watching.

we have been walked off big thunder mountain and people mover.we got stuck at the peak of the second lift hill for 20 minutes on BTM and people mover we sat for 35 minutes before a cast member finally arrived.

I've had a ride evac before. But was stuck on DL's Pirates for a really long time last trip. And the music just kept playing, over and over and over again. I now know the dog's part to the song by heart. Stuck right by the dog. ruff ruff.
That’s where we got stuck, but on the WDW version, years ago (2009?). No evac that time, but they did send out a CM in hip waders to dislodge us.

Last July, we were evacuated off Test Track. And in 2015, we were evacuated off Grizzly River Run and Splash Mtn a couple hrs apart : /

We were evacuated of EE. Highlight of DH's trip.....walking down through the mountain.
We were also walked off Alice at DLR but towards the end of the ride, so not as cool.
