Very tired of snow here. It makes my job very difficult and dangerous. We're running out of places to put it. Spring needs to come.:sad2: Of course my son is chanting, "snow day! snow day! snow day!"
Come ON! We just had one last week and a three day weekend. We need to get back to the business of learning.

We are supposed to be getting 3-5 inches tonight and another 1-3 tomorrow. I was just saying last week how I can't complain because we haven't really had much snow this year. Well, now I can complain
I just keep telling myself in about 2 months it will start getting warmer with each day and then Spring will be here for real.

I'm in Ohio, and I'm sick of snow. I hate driving in bad weather, and my kids are going to have to make up all of the days they miss now, as they've used their 5 days that are built in or whatever.

Come on, Spring!!!

ETA: I know we don't have it nearly as bad as those east of us......but I'm still whining!

As a New Englander, living most of my life in the Northeast....I really feel your pain. I can remember having winters that started in Nov and went to March, then in April it would rain right through to June and then July&Aug would be so humid....ugh. :headache:

Anyway, we moved 18 months ago to Southern California w/DH's job....let me tell you I am a new person here. Ya, we miss our families/relatives BUT this weather here is just amazing. Bright sun, every day. :sunny: Today it will be 75 and no humidity.
Every day over and over again I hear the struggles with everyone on the East coast and in the Mid west, oh my. I remember those brutally cold mornings having to start my car and let it run to warm it up...and the snow storms, the ice, the wind. :sad2:

Hang in there, everyone.

Thank God I'm off tomorrow. LOL. I live in New Jersey but work in Philly. It's been a PITA the last couple weeks. I soooo can't wait for spring to get here.
Nancy:flower3:

They're saying we're only supposed to get a little snow...1-3". Last time they said that I got 10" at my house. :headache:

Shortbun,
I absolutely love, love, love our bus drivers for taking on such a huge responsibility! They are wonderful and I try to appreciate them as much as I can! My DS's driver drives him over 23 mis. each way to Columbus and back through all the weather we've been having.
I hope you are appreciated as much as well!
I agree, enough of the weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are calling for about 4-6 inches here, but it's going to start out as rain which means sleet/freezing. I haven't been to work in 10 days including weekends. I really hope I get one more day. :)

Most of the Columbus area schools are cancelled for tomorrow already....
it's so nice to go to bed knowing ahead of time, although with the winter storm warning goes through rush hour tomorrow morning, so we figured it would be cancelled anyway....

Our mailbox is almost covered with snow and my kids' playset is literally half way under snow!
I guess it will be good sledding tomorrow~

It's snowing here in Jersey too. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that it stops soon and any travel delays don't affect our plane to Florida on Wednesday morning

I'm so fed up with it! Schools were canceled today because the roads are still impassable from the last storm. The kids are happy, but how happy are they going to be in June when they're making up all these days?

Oh, and I've about had it with the snow on my streets. We live on a main road and our town still hasn't cleaned it properly. To add insult to injury, these jerks who live two houses down have now claimed a spot that WE shoveled out for our car. Nothing we can say or do about it either because it's a public street.

It has been snowing ALL day. Last week we had school on Monday and Thursday. We were off Fri for teacher day and today for presidents day. Looks like we will be off tomorrow even though they have not announced it yet. We have used our 5 so we will be making them up. I cannot beleive they want to give us less calamity days (I have heard only 3 next year). I know we do not have as much as some of you, but still..

We're supposed to get 5-8" tonight. The kids were off school all last week because of the snow, had a 2 hour delay today and as of right now have another 2 hour delay tomorrow.

Anyone want to help me lynch Punxatawny Phil? ;)

:laughing:My DD said to me today that it looks like "Phillip Johnny Bob" was right--lots more winter. I was confused, Phillip Johnny Bob is Junie B.'s stuffed elephant in the Junie B. Jones' books and she said, "I know, but I can't remember his name...you know, that groundhog in Pennsylvania!"

We "might" get 2 to 5 inches tomorrow - here in upstate NY - but I'll believe it when I see it.. The last really significant snowstorm we had (one of two) was around the second week of December.. Since then we've had mostly abnormally low temps - with snow flurries - or an inch or two at most.. It seems so strange! Definitely not a "typical" upstate NY winter..:confused3

Hoping it's not going to slam us "later" - rather than "now".. If this is the only snow we're going to get - and the temps return to normal - there's a good possibility that I could move back up to the lake as early as mid to late March!! :thumbsup2

Sorry the rest of you are getting hit so hard.. I guess all those folks rushing out to the supermarkets last week and the week before had the right idea..;)

You must live on the far west side. I had that route for years into Ridgeview and Centennial. I'd drive from Grove City through Hilliard and into Dublin to pickup kids who were in Columbus Schools. They'd be in the bus for 1.5 hours sometimes. Those two lanes out there with no berm get interesting in a bus when it's icy. Glad you like your drivers!! I love my job, just not this weather.
Thanks for your support!!!
So glad we did not have school today and they called it early last night. Often, I have to get up at 4am, struggle to get into the compound, get my bus ready to roll and THEN then call it.

My kids haven't been to school since February 5th because of the snow. Thank God I have a daycare (before/after school program) that opens anyway. I know of many working parents who use the county program who are in a lot of trouble at this point because there's no school.
