Ok so after 1...2...3...4...5...6 < Yep thats right 6 hotel cancellations we are finally reserved at Windsor Hills. We were originally looking at a condo but decided to upgrade to a townhouse and found one that we love (well the pictures that is)!! The owners are super nice and their management company is Oasis. I haven't read anything bad or good about them so hopefully someone can give me some feedback here. Yay I'm so excited :cool1: It was a little more than what we were originally hoping for and took just a little bit of convincing DH since everytime I cancelled one the next one was at a higher price. Heeheehee!! But once he saw the pictures he was hooked!

This is my first time not at a hotel so you can say I'm a little spoiled and like for someone else to make my bed and change my towels while I'm on vacation so we'll see how this goes but I'm worried about not bringing the essentials. So what should I bring besides TP, PT, soap, etc...?:confused3

I can pretty much guarantee that the extra space and comfort will more than make up for the unmade bed and having to throw the towels in the washer (which washes while you relax on the patio ;) ).

If you forget anything, Wal-Mart is handy! :thumbsup2

You should ask the owner what they have at the house. Sometime the mcs leave what other renters buy and sometimes they clean everything out. Dishwasher soap, washing powder, bounce. I usually wait until I get there and buy some unless your driving down and can bring it from home.
George: 5min2Disney is an owner of a townhouse there who uses Oasis and he says they're the best. He's usually on this forum and will probably post a message to you. ( maybe it's his place you're renting )

I asked the owner and she said each bathroom has a roll of TP...which is not enough to clean 7 behinds in a week let me tell you!! and each garbage can has 1 bag. Since we are driving up I thought Iwould buy some things before hand but now I'm thinking I should just wait and buy up there.

Ok Geaorge where are you? Let me hear what you got although your opinion may be quite biased don't ya think :rolleyes1

Well I am maybe...but I also give (what I think at least) is good and honest feedback!

Who are you renting from Laura? Marilu? Susan?

Anyhow, yes, Oasis is a GREAT MC to work with, you're definitely in good hands there. They are very responsive to guest and owner's needs should you ever need them. We were guests there for 2 years in a row before we bought, keep in mind, so I've been on both sides of the fence so to speak.

You might take a look here:
http://www.5mins2disney.com/faq.htm (The home you're in may vary slightly, but VERY slightly...there's lots of good information on Windsor Hills and such here)...some owners provide a little more, some a little less, for instance.

From this same page:

Is there anything that is not provided?

There are a few things you'll want to either pack or pick up locally upon your arrival. We provide only a "starter" quantity of hand soap and toilet tissue. Personal items like toothpaste, bath soaps, shampoo, etc. are not provided, for hygiene reasons. Also, smaller consumable items like dishwashing soap, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, trash bags, etc. are also not provided. We also do not provide items like coffee, tea, or any type of consumables or food, as people's taste vary from person-person, you should expect to find the refrigerator empty and clean upon arrival. The cleaning company removes any such items left behind as each guest leaves the units (this is the common practice in Florida). When we first booked a townhome we wondered why certain items such as these were not left behind, then we learned that this is the common practice, so want our guests to know what to expect to provide themselves in advance.

What is provided in the home?

Our home is fully furnished and equipped for your vacation enjoyment. There are two sets of sheets for each bedroom and two sets of towels for each bath. Pillows, blankets and other necessities are provided. Both master suites are also equipped with a hairdryer and alarm clock/radios. We do also provide 8 pool towels, these need to be returned to the unit if you take them to the clubhouse pool. All kitchen utensils are provided including plates, cups, bowls, glasses, silverware, toaster, blender, teapot, coffee maker, and pots and pans. There is a dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and a stove/oven. For your laundry/cleaning needs a washer and dryer are provided along with an ironing board and iron. The house is equipped with small hotel soaps and 1 roll of toilet tissue in each bath. If you are staying more than a couple of days, you will want to purchase additional supplies.

Thanks so much for the info George! We are actually renting from Marilu. She has been super so far and I love the fact that her home is somewhat child proof. :thumbsup2

I will be checking out that website soon.

I'm so excited  and I just can't hide it
I know....I'm a dork!

You have made a great choice - after vacationing in a real home you will likely wonder why you ever stayed in a hotel!

Oh I hope so! MIL is ruining it for me. She told me this morning that having to wash towels, make your bed and having to come back to your "room" w/o it having been cleaned is NOT a vacation. :sad2:

Should I remind her who is funding this trip????:teacher:

Why would you need to wash towels unless you're staying for more than a week or 2? All they ask, is that, IF you can, you throw them in the wash and start it for them when you checkout, simply because it helps them on the laundry, but this isn't even a requirement, just something that's a "nice" thing to do, if you can!

As far as making your bed, well, darn it, I guess if you want to pay $300 a night to stay in a Disney Deluxe hotel room (each, as I'm guessing you wouldn't be in the same room with your MIL), then, well, for those prices they should make the bed for you every day! hehe

Maybe you should suggest that if she's unhappy with the place you chose she can always go get her own room on property! /grin

LOL Ha Ha HA :rotfl2: "snort snort" :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: < Don't I wish it was that easy. She would't do that....she'll just complain about it when she can. Good thing the excitement in my kids will drown her complaints out.

 You know I really do love her.
