Ok, so from my thread a couple days ago I said we made all of our ADR's and we were set to go... well... now we are not so sure.. :confused3

**We really want some of the Disney experience at the places we eat but we also do not like the off beat foods.. like no vegies, extra sauces, salads other than a typical salad, and things with just extra dips and sauces or things stuffed in them. We like good steaks, fettucini pasta, fries, etc.. just normal good food.
**We want some fun enviroments and some fun for our 2 year old.
**We want some places to make the most out of our dining plan. So not just eating cheap burgers and such.
** I love places that really do good on the dining plan as far as getting the glow cubes in your drinks, getting 2 drink choices on the plan like with Le Cel..etc...
**I will be taking lots of pics the whole time so I want to eat and places we can get some great pics at.
**I LOVE desert so I want places that have good but again normal deserts, no orange glaze or other extras on them. I love cakes and huge icecream sundaes..lol

So keeping all of those in mind would you please give me some honest opinions on where you would choose to go. (yes I know we are way tooo picky..lol)

Here is our schedual for the parks and where we already have ressies for..
monday-mgm-dinner at Wolfgang Pucks
tuesday-AK- dinner at Planet Hollywood (will be hanging out at DTD that night)
Wednesday- MK-dinner at Chef Mickeys
Thursday- Epcot- dinner at Le Cellier
Friday- MK again- dinner at Whispering Canyon
Saturday- Epcot again -will be leaving before dinner

So now we are thinking on some other places like..we really want to try CRT but we do not see a single appetizer on the menu we would like..is that really all they have(menu from debs site)...
also we are liking the sound of Sci-Fi but is it good at dinner? Also how can we sit with just the 2 of us and our 2 year old?...
also thought about Crystal Palace but not sure if the food is enough of what we like...
we really want to go to ESPN b/c the food sounds good but we want the Superbowl Sundae for desert and heard now we can't get that unless we have 4 people...

So anyways, we need some ideas.. What would be good for us? Any places I am not naming that would be good for us? I would really really appreciate any ideas here. Thanks sooooo much!! :love1:

I know that a lot of people do not care for the food at Chef Mickey's for dinner. but they do have a really good sundae bar for dessert. Since you really like desserts, that should be a good choice. ;)

All the trouble people go to making dinner plans ahead of time...I go on vacation to get away from schedules and having to be anywhere! I go where I want when I want and am prepared to compromise on times or wait a bit if it's someplace I choose that night. Stop sweating it.....change your mind when you get there if you want and put some spontanaity back into it!!! :confused3

I wish I could be spontaneous, but it's just not in my type A personality!

I think you would like Crystal Palace. My dh is very picky and this is his favorite buffet. The rest of your choices are good. I have looked at the menu for Wolfgang Pucks and it looks good. Planet Hollywood is OK, more the atmosphere than the food, but it's basic fare.

Have a good time!

Well normally we are very spontaneous on trips but this is DISNEY..lol
There is a whole lot to do and with the free dining, places are going to be packed. A little planning will go a long way and save tons of time with this being our first trip. We are only there for 5 nights, I do not want to spend them waiting for a place to eat or wandering around trying to find some place that does not have a long wait time. I think it pays to be prepared in this situation.

How about the Concourse Steakhouse at the CR?
The food is good and your little one can watch the monorail :earsboy:

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

actually me and my family kinda just play it by day. of course we know in the summer it gets super busy at places to eat .but we have always found a place. its funny cause, i cant plan that far advance either. even a week ahead on vacation. we have to be in the mood for pizza, or chineese, etc. so we just go day by day..............

:cool1: If you like huge ice cream sundaes I have to reccomend Beaches and cream at the beach club resort.....
They had the best desserts.........

The only thing I would change with the description of your tastes is Wolfgang Puck's. I'd go to Beaches 'n Cream instead. Wolfgang Puck's tends to be a bit frou-frou for me.

Another suggestion... you can request your food to be plainer. If the steak comes with a sauce you don't think you might like, ask for it on the side, or to be left off altogether. Same with sides and desserts- most can be "dressed down" if you want.

Have a great trip- and great food! :flower:

Have you checked out the Wolfgang Puck menu at his website??? I'm not sure it will be a favorite of yours.

And, I just have to ask... do you really NOT eat vegetables??? As the granddaughter of a produce vendor, that just seems unfathomable to me! ;)

Enjoy whatever you decide!

I have to suggest my favorite place to eat... Kona Cafe. I am very picky, a meat and potatoes person, don't like veggies and LOVE desserts.
I make it a point to eat here the night I arrive and the night before I leave. I just love this place. :lovestruc

LOL It is not that I do not eat any vegies ..just not many. I like corn, lima beans, black eyed peas and carrots and celery (cold only). That is it though, no other vegies for me. Hubby likes them ok but he too had rather have potatos with a meal than vegatables. I know it is strange to most people. We are just picky eaters..lol I should say BAD eaters..we like meats, potatos, pastas etc.. and me myself..i love sweets.lol

I looked at the WGP menu on Debs site and thought it sounded pretty good.

It is just such a hard choice. We want to make the best of our dining plan but can not make up our minds. Seems like the places we would love to go have food we would not at all care for (1900 Park Fare, CRT, etc..)

Thanks for the advice so far..please keep it comming. I need some real honest opinions/reviews on these places or some we may like better. I am still unsure on WC. I am scared dh will not be wild about all the joking around they do in there like if they wanted him to get up and sing! :rotfl:

Well, I also am not a veggie or sauce type person, and I am much too much a sweets person... we have a dd8...

I too question your Wolfgang Pucks choice, but you have to do what fits you best!!

I've heard LTT is a little on the plain side, but then so is 'ohana, and we're going there we love meats, and shrimp, and the appetizer plater is yummy (wings!!) for us, I loved that DD had her turn to "play" with the coconut races and hula game last year, and she is looking forward to returning this Oct. Again, since she's older we've planned the 1900 Park Fare, with Prince Charming and Cinderella, and the mice, and CRT for breakfast, and we hope Aurora will be there, or I"ll have to figure a way into Norway!!

Also, Planet Hollywood isnt a "Disney" area, you can eat at a PH in other cities too, but you're planning on doing DTD, so it makes sense for you and your family...

Try being spontaneous in the heat of July with three small kids. The first time we went to WDW DH was saying why are you making all these plans - lets just do what we feel like doing that day. After we came home he said THANK YOU! We heard people being turned away all the time during the two weeks were were there in July. No thanks.

We just got back on Sunday from DW and I also have a two year old and five year old. My husband is not into veggies and fancy food either. We all loved Chef Mickey's for breakfast (actually we had a 11:10 ADR so it was like lunch). We also did Sci-Fi for supper and all of my family liked that. My hubby had the ribs. We went to CP for supper one night and everyone also really enjoyed that. We went to LTT and did not care for the food there. We ate at Whispering Canyon and loved the food there as well as the ambience. We had the skillet and the steak. They let my DD (2 yr old) eat off my husband's skillet for free. Hope this helps! You'll have a magical time no matter where you eat though!!! :flower:

Amanda,

We met my mom at WCC for lunch a few years ago. She was elderly and I knew that she would not be "into" all the shenanigans that went on there. I alerted my server and in no uncertain terms told him his tip depended on it! ;) He acted wounded but complied with only gentle teasing and we had lots of fun watching the action instead of being the action!

None of us ordered the skillet but the food was surprisingly good and we had a great time. Just let your server know.

Some friends of ours also ate in the library area which is at the end of the dining room out of the main area and more quiet. When we were there, they were holding a gingerbread house decorating class in that area.

The veggies sound limited on that menu. :goodvibes I say, "Give it a go!"

Ok, thanks for all the great advice... last night we cancled Wolfgangs and added CP. The latest we could get was 4:55 though. SO today we decided to chane that to CRT. Now, I really want to go to CRT and have the fliet and the desert so let me ask a couple questions for anyone else who still looks.. at CRT, are there any "normal" things on the appetizer menu? ALso can we get regular french fries with our steaks??? Thanks for any info.

SO anyways..now we have
Chef Mickeys
Planet Hollywood
CRT
Le Cellier
Whispering Canyon

Sounds good to me. :cool1: Lets just hope we can stick to this one..lol
