We just got back today from our first cruise, and it was fantastic. We were on the wonder September 22 four night cruise. We boarded the boat on Sunday with no problems at all.We were one of the first to board. As soon as we set feet onboard the ship the welcome is so fantastic.I had tears in my eyes.I couldn't believe we were actually there. We went to Parrot Cay for lunch, and we had a great buffet lunch.Afterwards we went to get Palo's reservations which we got right away.My husband was actually able to get into the room at 1:00PM although they had said 1:15.We had cabin 2552.It was great being so close to elevator, and the cabin was more then I had imagined. They had the cruise watch waiting for us and bon voyage package. The stateroom was fantastic.Nassau we thought was okay.We went to Atlantis there which was gorgeous as well as straw market which was okay.Freeport we enjoyed more as it didn't look so worn down. There went to the Internation Bazaar as well as the casino. We had a fun time shopping at both places.Del Sol Store in Nassau was great.I highly recommend it as they had some cool color changing souvenirs.Castaway Cay was beautiful. We truly had a great time biking around island, swimming and a fantastic time there altogether. Our dinner rotation was Triton,Animators Palate,Parrot Cay,and Triton. We went to Palo's instead the last night which was fantastic. Our servers were Komang and Pencho the whole cruise except for Palo's.We highly recommend them. They made sure we were happy with all meals we got.We will request them next time around. All food was fantastic. The pool and hot tub were great. The shows were excellent. One of my favorites was Disney Dreams, but they were all good. The food and wine tasting is highly recommended. It was very informative, and it was well worth it.The late night buffets on deck 9 were great. They usuallly started close to 11PM if I remember right.Getting off the boat today,it was nice and smooth. We ate breakast at 6:45,and were on the way home by 7:30AM.The whole ship experience was fantastic, and we will be back onboard again sometime early next year.We appreciate all the great advice we got on here before we left as it surely did come in handy. It was our first cruise, but it won't be our last on the Disney Wonder.Let me know if you all have any questions, and I will try my best to answer them. Thanks again to you all for great information on here.

Disneyfan 37,
Thanks for the report. Question, when and where did you sign up for the wine tasting?
Thanks, Bob

Glad to hear such a great trip report. How were the seas with all of the tropical weather?

What type of cruise are you planning for next year? 3, 4 or 7 day. It's so easy to get hooked on cruising with DCL.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
Tina :)

We had fantastic weather all around. No bumpy seas at all.It only rained one of the evenings for a little bit,but it didn't ruin our plans at all as most of the days it was nice and sunny out.

Yes,we are bitten by the cruise bug.We are considering on either doing a 7 night or 4 night cruise at the minimum. We already realized that the 3 night wouldn't of done it for us.We are pushing more to the Disney Magic cruise although we loved the Disney Wonder boat and staff.

Just wondering if you could tell us how you go about signing up for the wine tasting.

Thanks

We signed up for the food and wine tasting at guest relations onboard on Monday evening, and the wine tasting took place on Tuesday afternoon at 3 PM.It lasted an hour.We got to taste 6 different wines as well as have some cheese and crackers with it,and the cost was 12 dollars. This was held at Palo's.

Tell me about the late night buffet you mentioned. I have never heard of this before. What did they have, and is this every night.? I heard they have a dessert buffet on 1 night about 930 1000. Was Palo really that much nicer than the other restaurants , i dont understand the extra $5 charge with the high cost of the cruise already.

They had the dessert buffet on Monday for sure, and they had mini sandwiches, chicken wings and desserts. We actually ate at 11PM,so as to what time I am not sure what time they start it late.Tuesday,it was raining some,so we didn't go and check it out.We fell asleep,so we don't know if they had it.We know for sure they had it on Monday.Wednesday night there was nothing up there, and we did go check it out.Sunday night we heard about it from someone else on cruise,so we didn't know till Monday. Trust me there is so much food around you aren't going to starve if anything you will over eat. There is food everywhere all day long.
Yes,Palo's is worth the 5 dollars at least it was to us.We loved it.The view from there is spectacular. It was a lot nicer then the rest of the restaurants, but to us they were all great.
This cruise was well worth every penny we paid for it,and we will be back!We have no kids, but we enjoyed it to the last minute.

Disneyfan,
We sooo wanted to do the wine tasting too! Unfortunately, we didn't return from our dolphin encounter (which started at 9:30am by the way) until well after it had begun. We were really disappointed. We also missed "Island Magic" which I thought the kids would really enjoy. This was one of our complaints...that these two activities as well as "who wants to be a mouseketeer" were scheduled at a time that we could not possibly attend. What a bummer!

Yes,I did notice that there were quite a few things scheduled at the same time.I guess this just makes one just want to go back even more as this way you can do the other thing. We are definitely going back.Time just went by too fast.

I love Del Sol merchandise. This sounds like it was almost the perfect cruise :) Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
