(WE ARE BACK! TR LINK!) The-BFF-Birthday-bash PTR turned ANNIVERSARY trip

Ready for a picture heavy update?!?!? :goodvibes

First, and foremost, b/c it's related to the trip...I BOOKED the November dates this morning for our Anniversary trip!!!! :woohoo:

3 nights from November 5th-8th at Coronado Springs!!!

Super excited as booking makes it more real. Didn't book with a discount b/c I don't have one, but I'll get one, I'll find a way. I know it's Jersey Week, but I have read that most people do not think it has that big of an impact on crowds and to be honest, Rey and I are not going commando on rides, so I think it won't matter much??? :confused3

I get to make ADR's in just 17 days!!!

So, busy few days and it's picture a picture heavy update b/c well, I love taking photographs and so you have to look at them. That's just how I roll.

I took some cool shots of Savannah last week, using her ripstick, then she taught her friend how to ripstick as well one night. I'm hoping she doesn't break anything on it, like her brother did a few years ago!

Then Friday was the Earth Day celebration at the local college (even though today is actually Earth Day) It was chilly and cloudy, but we endured! Took a tour of the college solar house project, they build solar houses for competition and it was really great to hear all about it. Then headed over to the main, but chilly events and I got a shot of Savannah & her friends...

Sooooo, that's what's going on around here, Rey & I have been together for 21 years yesterday and he'll be home Tuesday night for the remainder of the week! Today was the perfect day to book our trip, I'm super excited!!!!!!

:woohoo: HURRAY for booking your November trip! I can't believe your ADR day is so close... I'm really having a hard time imagining planning a trip less than a year out What's that like?? :lmao:

Congrats on booking the trip! Awesome!

Amanda

Thanks Amanda!!

:rotfl2: Uh, still kinda the same 197 days out. Did you know that I planned the first trip with MA that we took about 3 months out from the trip??? Let me just say that it was way better instant gratification!

I HATE waiting for discounts though, so if we don't book before November for our trip, I'm ABSOLUTELY booking a bounceback for it. I'm kicking myself b/c I could have booked a bounceback in January for mine & Rey's trip! GAH!

Oooh, yeah! I didn't even think about the fact that we'll get a bounce back. I guess this trip with Rey will benefit me after all.

we're going to miss you by a day, we are arriving the night of the 8th. if your adr's are so soon, that means mine is right after! I need to decide on a character breakfast for the 11th!

You are arriving just HOURS after we leave! Are you wanting a certain park for the breakfast? We're doing CP b/c it's Rey's favorite...he likes piglet. :rotfl2:

Is anyone else having to login every single time they come to the board? It logs me out about every 30 minutes, it's really annoying. :badpc:

It's not logging me out but for a few days I wasn't getting email notifications for this thread. :confused3 Seems to be fixed now though. I think the last major update to the boards caused lots of little glitches.

The breakfast would be for the morning after the wine and dine 1/2 marathon. My dh and I will be there without kids. We won't be at a park that day. We will be sleeping in, so need the latest ressie they have. (assuming the characters will stay after the time of the last ressie??) We are staying at the Dolphin, so the options are:

1. Garden Grove Cafe at the Swan. I haven't heard very much about this at all, but it has Goofy and Pluto (hmm, would prefer more than that??) and costs 20.99. Breakfast till 11:30.

2. Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. Heard lots of positive about it. Has Minnie, Goofy, Donald. Costs 28.75 and goes till 11.

3. 1900 Park Faire. Mixed reviews. Mary Poppins, Mad Hatter, Alice = face characters that can talk with us. $26.62. Till 11:30. Would have to bus to TTC and take Monorail so leaves less time for sleeping.

What do you think?

As for the logging out problem, did you check under preferences on the boards? Maybe it got checked off not to remember you after 30 minutes?

I think I would go with Park Faire after a race! What fun that would be with the face characters!!! Cape May would be a good choice as well, I have race friends that do CM after the Princess. We had a 10:00 ADR at Ohana (last morning ADR) and the characters stayed...AND, it was much more relaxed as well, being the last ADR of the morning!

I have searched high and low and cannot find a place to choose how long I stay logged in? I can't find any sort of preferences in my User CP??? :confused3

Sorry haven't been by in awhile, but enjoying the beginning plans for the BFF trip and :cool1: yay for the 3 day getaway anniversary trip you will love that it e away :goodvibes

:cheer2: Congratulations! :cheer2: I am a little jealous but very happy for you!

That was happening to me last week, but it seems to be correct, now. Sorry I can't be more helpful...

:thumbsup2 Agreed. Most of the glitches seem to be corrected. I sure this one will be, too! :thumbsup2

I vote for 1900 Park Fare!

Thanks Julie!

Don't be jealous until it actually happens! I have a bad habit of planning trips that don't happen, so hopefully I will have time to pay this one off and actually go! ;)

Hmmm, it's still doing it to me. :confused3

Congrats on booking the November trip! The Earth Day celebration looked really interesting. The solar houses looked pretty neat. Ripsticks give me the chills  but it looks like she really has the hang of it!

Thanks Erin! The solar houses were pretty cool, they are working on one for the 2014 competition as well, we're hoping to check it out sometime.

Ripsticks are not my favorite thing, Dylan broke his collarbone on the very one that Savannah is using! :scared1: He was really good as well, but a daredevil, and Savannah is super cautious b/c of it, so hopefully history will not repeat itself!

Rey comes home tonight, so I may be scarce in updating the rest of the week!

:cool1: Pretty exciting update!!! :cool1:

Yesterday I was reading a November thread that I'm on and came across someone who mentioned that they booked great flights on United from St. Louis to MCO. I had looked a few weeks ago, but Southwest had the only nonstop flight and it looked like it was going to be cheaper than any of the other airlines.

So, yesterday when I saw mention of United having cheap flights, Rey & I decided to check the site... OMG, they had round trip flights for 158$! That was WAY less than it was looking like for SW (they have only released to Nov. 2nd and we are going the 5th-8th) who are charging $563 at this point. SO, we paid the 10$ fee to lock our price for a week...and the grand total is 314$ TOTAL for both of us to fly round trip!!! I'm SO glad we locked in the fare b/c this morning the prices are back up!!!! What luck! We saved $250!!!!!

We will have to take two planes, but it's no biggie, we still arrive at MCO at 12:35, which is when we figured we would be arriving anyway. SO excited and next week I'll be paying those tickets off. Seems pretty real once you have your airfare!!! :woohoo:

Other than that, just enjoying Rey home this week! No pics to share, sorry!

Congrats on getting these great rates on airfare!! You are right, it does make the trip seem more real once air is booked. Happy Planning!

Thanks Linda! I'm pretty excited about it, especially since we don't have a discount on our trip yet, so this really helped! I'm still hoping for a room discount or FD at some point too! :thumbsup2
