We are back :( Holiday was great :) - added a few photos!

wow - Steve - I can't believe I missed wishing you a great holiday but it looks like you had one anyway , so thats good!!!! I think we were away at the same time as you, so thats probably the reason why it slipped my ageing mind!

Your close up photos of the parade are stunning - the best I have seen by far - especially the Mickey and Minnie, Belle, and the Pinnochio puppet one!

Those fog photos are very atmospheric and spooky - just the thing for Halloween! Now I'm looking forward to a lot more photos and a trippie!

Wow, great pics, thanks! It's really nice to get a little sneak preview of the Halloween stuff before we go next week.
I love the pics of the fog, Im hoping it will be a bit foggy next week so we can really get in the swing of spooky halloween, my daughter would love that!
I ber Phantom Manor looked ace!
Thanks again

Can you tell me a little bit more about the parade? I have seen that they have added some of the old floats. Are they first or are they after the Once Upon A Dream Parade? Do they have special Halloween music or do they also use the "Just like we dreamed it" theme? :confused3

Very nice! Can't wait to see it all for myself. Thanks.

Love the photos! Is there somewhere in DRP where you can transfer them to a disc? I always take mine on finest setting, so I only get about 80 on my memory card :headache:

And I love your fleece - did you get it there?

MazdaUK: I asked that 3 years ago at the resort and it was exorbitant expensive. I was really shocked when they told me the price. I then decided to buy a memory card at the resort which was also very expensive. :scared1:
Why don't you buy yourself a big memory card at home. I just bought myself a new 1GB card for only 12€! :thumbsup2

I use SD cards and they seem to be getting cheaper - seen them as cheap as £4.99 for 1gb (plus post) so I agree with pp about getting an additional card at home.

Welcome home Steve

Loving the foggy photos and looking forward to more and your trip report

Great photos Steve, I look forward to the rest of them:goodvibes

Thanks for the comments - I will be putting the whole set online tomorrow.

To answer a couple of questions - my camera is a Panasonic DMC-TZ1. It has a 10x optical zoom which is how I was able to get close-up shots. As some will know on here I have gone thorugh a good few cameras over the years but this one is by far the best. There is a newer version, the TZ3, which is the only non DSLR camera on the market I'd consider as a replacement.

As for the parade - it was the same 15th Anniversary parade that's been running all year. They had a small Halloween parade 20 minutes earlier to get the seasonal theming in but the main parade has no Halloween theming.

One other disappointment - no Thrifts at the Red Garter Saloon :( Don't know if they were on holiday themselves or if they are no more but we were gutted not to see them. I'm thinking they are gone as The Red Garter Saloon now has a big widescreen TV which showed football every night except later on Wednesday night when they attempted to have Karaoke but nobody wanted to sing and the cast members running it didn't sing themselves to get people in the mood. If this is a premanent change to the Red Garter Saloon then it's very much for the worse :(

EDIT: Forgot to add, yes I did the fleece while I was there - it's the most comfortable fleece in the world, ever!

I just checked out the camera's you've mentioned and notice that the TZ3 now only has a 280mm zoom opposed to the 350mm on the TZ1 :sad2: They've made it 28mm wide angle instead of the previous 35mm. I've got a great digi (non-SLR) that's 420mm but a bit too bulky for the parks, a great digi compact that's 23mm wide which is great but only 5mp which I'm not that happy with for big pics, and then a compact digi that's 7.1mp so better pic's but no wide angle or zoom greater than 114mm.

If only I could design my own - compact, at least 7mp, huge zoom AND really wide angle :cloud9:
